Poodles come in three sizes and a wide variety of colouers. Where most dogs have double coats, poodles have a single-layer coat of dense, curly fur that sheds minimally, but will mat without proper care. Share John and Katie Black have been fostering rescue dogs for a long time. They have been in constant contact with the Neuse River Golden Retriever Center and also adopted two dogs. They named the dogs Leroy and Winchester. Both the dogs are living their best lives with their loving owner in Raleigh, North Carolina. The couple had fostered many dogs and had generously loved all their pets. However, when Rosie, a Golden Retriever, arrived at her foster home, she was pregnant. Now that was something special for the couple as the mama dog would require a lot of nourishment and care. However, the biggest challenge was the birth process and caring for the young ones for at least 8 weeks to be strong and healthy. It was a huge responsibility, and John and Katie did an excellent job. The young puppies were born healthy, and the mama dog was also in perfect health. Rosie gave birth to 4 cow-colored puppies who looked completely different from their mother. After a lot of research and DNA analysis, they found that the markings on the puppies were of an American Foxhound. Hence, John and Katie now knew who the daddy was. However, Rosie did not find it strange that her young ones did not look like her and raised them well with the help of her family. The only trouble was that she did not produce enough milk to feed the pups. So, Katie and John had to help Rosie bottle-feed the young puppies. This is amazing how much effort human foster parents put in to help their pets during the most crucial phase of their life. These include any form of cortisone like Prednisone for inflammatory conditions or itching. But be on the lookout for any culprit, such as rat poison or human medications. Anything that affects either the amount of blood the dog has, whether it can travel properly such as if the blood vessels are constricting , or whether they have enough red blood cells can affect whether they have enough oxygen. Puppies can become hypovolemic because they are losing blood internally or externally due to injury. Or they may have a disease or toxin that is attacking their red blood cells. This could be autoimmune problems, parasites, poisons, or a number of other health conditions to check for. Many neurological issues could be to blame, including conditions that cause seizures. Brain injuries like a concussion or bleeding on the brain can also be an issue. So if rapid breathing seems to be a problem for your dog, always have your vet do a full health check to rule out all problems.
