With a dog so perfect, it can be hard to settle on good name for your Labradoodle. How do you encapsulate such a sweetheart in just one word? Luckily, we've done the hard part so that you can give all your attention to working on adopting one! Ocular defects include microphthalmia, conditions causing increased ocular pressure, and colobomas, among others. The life expectancy of an Australian Labradoodle is between years. In general, smaller dogs tend to live longer than larger dogs. It is important to keep in mind that many factors can affect their life expectancy such as diet, exercise, injury, genetics, etc. Australian Labradoodles are known to be gentle, mellow cross that is smart and eager to please. Their happy go lucky personality makes them great individual or family dogs. Australian Labradoodles come in several different sizes micro mini, mini, medium, and standard which means there is the perfect size for everyone! Australian Labradoodles have been intentionally bred for several generations making their traits and characteristics more predictable. Australian Labradoodles have three main coat types: Fleece: A Fleece coat can either be wavy or curly and will have a silky feel. These are typically non-shedding and relatively easy to maintain. Wool: A wool coat is curly, with a Poodle-like texture, has a cotton-like feel. These are usually non-shedding and can be a bit harder to maintain if kept long. Hair: A hair coat can be either straight or have a slight wave and is comparable to a lower generation ie F1 Labradoodle. Blue merle Parti Labradoodle puppy Merle Australian Labradoodles Merle can affect all coat colors in many different breeds. Some dogs are affected by merle, but the patches are either hardly seen or not visible at all. This is why it is essential to have all dogs in a merle breeding program tested for coat color, DNA or blood testing can be done. Red or cream dogs in a merle litter have a higher rate of phantom merle. Every puppy from our merle litters are dna tested for merle before going home. Our girl Tiffany is considered a "classic" merle where Ranger is a "Tweed" merle. He walks great on a loose chain, and he sits in this position until release by another command. He does well in the down command but is still a bit stubborn. It's hard to remember life before we had her. She adjusted very nicely to her new home. She and our cat were getting along and the cat was very interested in her, dare I say he really enjoyed her. Two weeks after we got Rylee the cat took ill and had to be put down. Our family was incredibly sad, and I think Rylee understood that something bad happened. Having Rylee in our lives and home cushioned the blow for all of us and she helped us heal. As they say, timing is everything and she is just what we needed. We've had Rylee for two months now, and in that time she has learned so much. Without jinxing myself, I'll say that she house trained within a few weeks. Sure, she thought the rug was a great place to pee and poop when she first got here, but she quickly learned that outside was even better. Alyssa trained her to use the poochie bells in just a few days and now she rings them when she has to go out. We even put a second set of bells in our family room and she learned to use them if we are all sitting in there. She graduated from Puppy Kindergarten this week and begins basic training next week. She has learned to sit, down, down stay, high five, shake hands, spin, roll over, fetch, come, and is working off leash to heel, stay, and come when called. She learns so fast and is really fun to train and play with. I've been taking here with me everywhere and she melts hearts wherever she goes. Long before Pearl ever started her official training, and basically from the day I brought her home, I would have her lay on my chest with her nose near my mouth. She would nap that way, and we would cuddle that way. So, if I was wearing an article of clothing when I had a bloodsugar issue, I would use that article as my scenting tool. She learned skills and behaviors associated with service dog duties and along with the trainer, we came up with ways to add the skills that Pearl seemed to intuitively have to new skills and put it all together. I feel like none of this would not be if I would have not had Pearl and you come into my life. Pearl is more than just a service dog, more than a companion animal…. Oh Rochelle, I wish you could see her. She is not only beautiful, she has a calm sweetness to her that just makes you melt. I took her with me to California a couple of weeks ago. When I got there, my dad was laying down in bed. After we came in and gave a hug to mom, I took her off leash and she went immediately back to their bedroom where dad was laying. She looked at me and I nodded and she jumped right in bed with him and quickly laid down next to him with her head on his chest.
