The problem is they became so popular very quickly which led to the proliferation of backyard breeders and puppymill doodles. My girl's breeder had a pup that was born with a serious heart defect. Not only did she pull the mom and dad from her breeding program, but she informed all the buyers of that litter, and had all the pups re-tested at 1, 2 and 3 years old.
