Breed Title Goldador Puppies Temperament Goldadors are an amazing combination of the intelligence and trainability of the Labrador and the friendly, gentle personality of the Golden Retriever. With their outgoing, friendly character and sweet disposition, Goldadors make excellent family pets around children and other animals as they have a great aptitude for understanding people. In terms of temperament, these beloved pups are highly sociable but not overly boisterous or hyper; they enjoy playing fetch but rest just as happily on your lap or at your feet while you work. Golden Labrador Retriever Puppy Health Considerations Though generally very happy and long-lived — with an average lifespan of around years — our Goldadors for sale are not without their unique health concerns. Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing one of our Golden Labrador Retriever puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Finding a Golden Labrador puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can also dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. Depending on the climate they live in, Goldadors may need regular baths — however omitting shampoo once or twice a year will ensure their coat retains its natural oils. Finally it is recommended to check the ears regularly and trim nails as needed. Adopted Golden Labrador Retriever Puppies. Life Span Did You Know? The Golden Labrador is a designer dog breed that originated in the United States. They are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever. The goal was to combine these two highly popular breeds to create a dog that exhibits the best traits from both of them. A mixed dog breed can take after one parent breed more than the other or any combination of traits from the parent breeds. This can result in some variation among individual puppies. But, overall, a Golden Labrador is friendly, intelligent, energetic, and affectionate. Although this mixed breed is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are recognized by other notable organizations like the American Canine Hybrid Club and more. This large designer breed is characterized by their energetic personality and friendly disposition. Both of the parent breeds in this cross are open, friendly, and affectionate, so you can expect the same in your Golden Labrador puppy. They are very playful and get along fabulously with children, other dogs, and other pets. They may be alert enough to be a good watchdog, but they do not make good guard dogs. They are instinctually more interested in making new friends and getting attention than they are with anything else. They can have a slight prey drive, but most of the time, they are just curious and interested in playing and making friends. The Golden Labrador is a moderately adaptable dog breed. Their large size and energy tend to make them a better fit for larger homes with room to run. They can adapt well to apartment living as long as they are given enough exercise and mental stimulation. But, small spaces can be a challenge because they are large dogs that are so playful and energetic. Golden Labradors do well in just about any climate. As with most dog breeds, they are sensitive to heat and extreme cold. Because they love their families, thrive on attention, and get bored easily, they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. As a mixed breed, a Golden Labrador can inherit the potential health conditions of one or both of the parent breeds. Although the Golden Labrador is a relatively healthy dog breed, there are some potential health conditions to be aware of. These include eye problems like progressive retinal atrophy and joint issues common to large dogs like patellar luxation and hip dysplasia. Like their parent breeds, the Golden Labrador can be prone to weight gain, which does put them at risk of diabetes later in life. Reputable breeders will screen their stock to ensure genetic conditions are not being passed on to puppies. Regular vet visits, proper nutrition, and sufficient exercise can help keep your dog healthy and reduce preventable diseases. Both of the parent breeds in this cross are highly intelligent and highly trainable, so the Golden Labrador should be no different. Eager to please their owners, these dogs pick up on things quickly and respond best to positive training methods focused on praise and reward. This dog breed, like both of the parent breeds, is a great fit for owners of all experience levels, including first-time dog owners. Their high energy can sometimes be a challenge, so you may want to consider puppy training and obedience classes. This designer dog breed may be called a Golden Labrador, but they can show up in many colors. A cream, yellow, or golden coat may be the most common, but a Golden Labrador can also have a black, red, or brown coat. It tends to be a dense double coat that is short or medium in length. This dog breed will shed moderately year-round with heavier shedding sessions twice a year as the seasons change. During seasonal changes, you may want to increase to daily brushing. Not only will this make your dog more comfortable, but it will also decrease the amount of loose fur that ends up around your house. In addition to coat care, you will also need to handle nail, ear, and dental care for your Golden Labrador. Floppy ears tend to trap more dirt, moisture, and debris, which makes them more prone to developing ear infections than ears that stick straight up. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked, which is why gum disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs. Beyond that, you can use vet-approved dental hygiene chews and treats and even a specially-formulated dental care diet to supplement your efforts. Getting them used to it early and keeping it a positive experience can make grooming a lot easier as your puppy grows into a big dog! Plus, it can become a bonding experience that your dog looks forward to. Golden Labradors are high-energy dogs. Daily walks, playtime, and some extra activity are generally enough for this dog to stay happy and healthy. But, they will probably tire out before you do! Their friendly nature makes the Golden Labrador a great fit for trips to the dog park. Try teaching your dog how to play frisbee. With their retriever background, it could become one of their favorite activities. You can also train your Golden Labrador for several dog sports like agility, dock diving, obedience, and more. A fully-grown Golden Labrador usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. A Golden Labrador generally lives years. Although Golden Labrador is the most popular name for this designer dog breed, they are also sometimes referred to as a Goldador or a Goldador Retriever. Featured Golden Labrador Article.

During each of these stages, a puppy learns a lot of things. Neonatal Stage This period lasts from birth to 13 days. The puppy needs a lot of nursing from its mom because it is rather helpless. Its ears and eyes are closed, so it does not have any senses. The little pups should completely rely on their mothers for nourishment and care. By 2 weeks, they double their birth weight. They start crawling, and then their eyes and ears begin to open. The first milk teeth appear. The puppy can even stand up, but too unstably and shakily. This makes it possible for little ones to hear, smell, and taste. They even try to walk. Their baby teeth continue growing. The period between weeks is also called a transitional one. At the end of the third week, the motor skills start developing fast. The puppy can already control its temperature and body, namely, bowel movements. It begins to interact with its littermates. Nevertheless, the pup is still largely dependent on its mother. Though, you can interact with it. At the end of this period, the little cub is ready to explore the world. If your pet does not correspond to this proportion, there may be a health issue you do not know about yet. That is why you need to monitor the parameters carefully. To be sure that everything is OK, multiply the length of your dog by 0. You will get the perfect height. However, there can be some divergences. If they are minor, you have nothing to worry about. The German Shepherd is rather thin, or even skinny. This results in bad proportions. The ideal weight of your German Shepherd is lbs kg for males and lbs kg for females. You can get either a heavy or obese dog, and it can be a result of overfeeding or certain health issues. How to Check the Weight of Your German Shepherd The simplest method to see whether your dog is underweight is to check whether the ribs are visible on the sides. If you can see that the shape of your dog reminds you of a barrel on the ribs, it means that it is overweight. If you cannot feel the ribs, but there is too much skin on the sides, your dog is overweight. However, if you feel the ribs and only a thin layer of skin, it is underweight. It does not matter whether your dog is underweight or overweight. In any case, it can cause health problems if you do not repair the situation. The best way to succeed is to make changes to the diet. If your German Shepherd is underweight, you should enrich the content of its food. However, do not make it eat if the dog does not want to. That can lead to more severe problems. Make a slow transition to food with higher fat content. Or you may even give your dog puppy food because it is rich in nutrients. If your pet is obviously overweight, the best thing is to cut off the food. However, you also need to do it step by step so that the dog finally can eat just half of the amount you have recently fed it. The adult dog has a height of inches cm at the shoulder and an average weight of pounds kg. Nevertheless, some German Shepherds can grow bigger and even reach pounds kg. Thin collars won't suit active Bulldogs, which pull on the leash because they can hurt them and tear under the influence of their power. If you have a Bulldog puppy, the collar of narrow width will be suitable. Puppy's neck is tender and the collar won't traumatize it and will cause no discomfort. The collar width is changed while Bulldog's growth. Narrow collar is of light weight. It doesn't cut into the dog's skin or rub it. Thus the collar is safe for your little Bulldog. Fabric collars are a good option, and collars made from a breathable fabric that is also machine washable are even better. When should a puppy wear a collar? Even if your puppy is still too young to go outside for walks, getting them used to wearing a collar is a good idea and will prevent any tiny tantrums further down the road! Collars should be worn most of the time, even around the house, but taking it off every so often to let the skin breathe is recommended. Try leaving the collar off for a couple of hours every time you brush or bathe them. Can an 8-week-old puppy wear a collar? Responsible breeders recommend puppies should not be brought home until 8 weeks old, and you can start getting them used to their collar shortly after this. It may be a good idea to let them settle into their new environment before introducing something new, but getting them used to their collar in their second week at home is a good idea. Should puppies wear collars at night? Most dog collars are designed to be non-abrasive, and perfectly safe for pups and older dogs to sleep in. This can also help puppies get adjusted to wearing a collar for the majority of the time. However, many vets also recommend including a contact telephone number, in the event your dog goes missing. Although microchipping has been mandatory for pet dogs since , tags are still a legal requirement and provide a quicker way to get in contact with you if your dog is found, without their microchip needing to be scanned first. We hope our puppy collar size guide has been helpful, as well as our dog collar FAQs! If you enjoyed our puppy collar size guide, you might like our other article, What do I need for a New Puppy? Pin1 1 Shares When we first got Claude the puppy, we were in the local pet store searching for the right sized collar. That gave me the inspiration to put this guide to French Bulldog neck sizes together which explains how you can measure your dog up, and some rough guidance to what the best French Bulldog collar size will be for your dog. French Bulldog neck size for collars What size neck does a French Bulldog have? French Bulldogs typically very short and stocky necks with a thick circumference. How to measure a French Bulldog neck for a collar by using a measuring tape. Handy Hint: Most pet suppliers offer extra small and small collars. For adult Frenchies I would recommend small collar sizes and for French Bulldog puppies from 8 weeks and up I would recommend the extra small collar sizes. What size collar for a French Bulldog puppy? Frenchies come in different shapes and sizes, with their sometimes being big differences between male and female puppies. French Bulldog puppy collar sizes Here is some very rough guidance on what size collar is best for a French Bulldog puppy from 8 weeks of age and up. So, one of the best ways to select the right collar is to measure their neck. This can be done using the steps below: Firstly, you will need to get your dog to stand on a flat surface. Having treats to hand might be a good idea! The withers are the point where the neck and the back join which is just above the shoulder blade. Be sure not to pull the tape measure too tight or let it hang too loose. Now that you know the precise measurements of your Frenchie you are now able to compare these with the ranges that collar sizes are available in to ensure that you are buying the right size. What to consider when buying French Bulldog collars Buying a collar for a French Bulldog is totally different from buying a collar for any other dog. Think of breeds such as Pugs, Chihuahuas and of course our beloved Frenchies. Due to this, collars need to ensure that they are anti-choke collars and are neck friendly. Another thing to consider is the material that the collar is made from. Collars are a great alternative for Frenchies that are not comfortable in a harness. If your dog is able to walk on the lead without pulling, this may be a better solution. Some experts are of the opinion that to train your French Bulldog effectively you must have both a collar and a harness and we completely agree. The question that should be asked is when collars and harnesses should be used independently. Collars can place added pressure onto the neck and potentially lead to choking. I know of one owner who used a cat harness on their 8-week-old Frenchie puppy instead of a collar for this very reason. Why choose a collar? Puppies: puppies tend to dislike harnesses as they make them feel uncomfortable. As with everything there are certain pros and cons to using collars and they are listed below: Pros to collars They tend to be the most comfortable for the dog and so can be worn for longer during the day. This makes them ideal for identification purposes. There tends to be a wider variety of collars in different materials, styles and comforts. Easy to put on and take off. Cons to collars Depending on how well the collar is fitted it is possible for the dog to slip out of it. Using collars on brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs, they are prone to thyroid and trachea damage if they excessively pull when they are on the lead. There is a possibility that collars can get caught and suffocate dogs. It is advised that dogs do not wear their collars when unattended in the home. Which collar I recommend for a Frenchie The collar we use with Claude for every day use is this one on Amazon view prices. This one here is adjustable, so should work with your puppy and then you can upgrade into the later years. You can buy it in size ranges from extra small through to small. Why choose a harness? Longer walks: when you plan on taking your dog for a longer walk it may be better to fit them with a harness as this will evenly spread the pressure should they pull on their lead. Training purposes: puppies are highly distracted when they are young. Anything will make them excited and they may pull on their lead regardless of the pressure they are feeling round their neck with a collar. Using a harness will provide more control over your puppy. Although seemingly preferred by many French Bulldog owners, there are still pros and cons to the harness and they are listed below: Pros to harnesses Less pull stress with a harness as the pressure is evenly distributed around the body. Better control over your dog whilst walking. Reduces risk of neck injuries that collars may cause. A harness will not choke the dog if it were to get caught. Front clip harnesses can cause tracheal issues. Front hook harnesses can cause discomfort if not fitted properly. No matter what your preference of collar or harness, it is important to understand the differences between them and when both may be useful to you. For the best results it is always best to get both a collar and a harness so you are covered for all circumstances. Which harness I recommend for a Frenchie The one we use with Claude on longer walks out into the forest is this one on Amazon view prices. The previous harness we had was really tricky to get on and off Claude, but not with this one. Why Frenchies have stocky neck sizes Originally bred in England as a smaller version of the English Bulldog, French Bulldogs were introduced into France when they made their travels with their people across the English Channel. There, the breed was crossed with terriers and pugs to become what we know and love today! You can read more about the history here. This mix of breeds resulted in very strong and thick necks. If you own a Frenchie, you will know exactly what I mean! As you can see with our Claude photos, his is actually bigger than the average and so he tends to wear a larger collar. The best advice I can give you is to do what we did in the end and actually take your Frenchie puppy or dog into the pet store and let them test out a few collar and harness variations in store. However, if you already know the neck size and have measured your puppy up, you can scroll up to find a few recommendations on the best collars and harnesses currently available on the market. Add another two inches to the total length and this will give you the ideal length of the collar. Depending on the type of bulldog you own, neck measurements can vary greatly. Both French and English bulldogs are generally friendly, intelligent, and loyal, but they do have certain differences. While French bulldogs are more outgoing, full of energy, and enjoy cuddling, they are often independent and stubborn. English bulldogs, on the other hand, tend to be more reserved and calmer. If your dog is calm and more obedient, you can get a standard nylon or leather Bulldog collar. Martingales may be more ideal if your dog is aggressive or likes to pull, and is in the training process. Martingale collars are more comfortable and less harmful than choke collars, while still giving the owner more control. Best Collar for English Bulldog The best British bulldog collars to get for your English bulldog will be a bit larger, with neck sizes somewhere between 15 to 22 inches. The type of collar you decide to get will be the same you would get for a French bulldog, depending on temperament. Standard or martingale collars could be the best choices based on aggression level or general energy levels. Take a look at our full selection here and shop with us today. Apr 24, Share The German Shepherd is one of the most impressive and formidable dog breeds on the planet. After all, there are few things more terrifying than the sight of a ticked-off German Shepherd chasing down their quarry. All we have to do is step over them every time we need to get somewhere. Is it too much to ask in return that you keep it down and let them get a measly 23 hours of sleep? However, sometimes, on rare occasions, their self-control slips a little bit, and they find themselves — completely by accident — with their paws on the counter and your dinner in their mouth. Nothing Gets Past a German Shepherd One of the reasons that these dogs are so popular with police departments and the military is the fact that they see and hear everything. Nothing is too subtle to avoid detection — they could hear a cricket burp from yards away. They never heard a thing! Owners have reported chilling occurrences like trash cans tipping over, food disappearing from plates, and disembodied muddy paw prints on brand-new white carpet. They know this. They feel bad enough as it is. I mean, just look at those puppy dog eyes! They inspire fear, respect, and admiration everywhere they go, as there is no animal on the planet that would even think about messing with one. In fact, the breed only sheds once in their entire lifetime starting right after birth and continuing nonstop until death. That guy in your bedroom with the hockey mask and butcher knife may not get a second glance. However, for those who have spent any amount of time with a German Shepherd , the truth in these pictures is readily apparent. Will they laugh? Featured Image Credit: shelma25, Pixabay Contents.

Having learnt so much about Golden Retrievers and Dog Behaviour through the process of raising their goldies, they also decided to form The Dog Whisperer UK to teach dog owners how to use dog psychology to understand their dogs and how to train them. To her I owe much of my knowledge, hands on experience and a very successful first breeding in December .Foxhunt Lust for Life is our first love, he inspired us on educating our selves about the evolution of this breed. It is indeed and evolution since the White Shepherd was not meant to be a breed of its own at the origin. It is because of politics and the Parent Club's definition of beauty that the White Shepherds became outcast from their original breed. You may ask, what is the original breed? It is the German Shepherd dog. To tell you about the origin of the German Shepherd is beyond the scope of this introduction. I will only point out that the German Shepherd creator , a German Cavalry Captain, Max Emil Friedrich von Stephanitz bought what he felt was the benchmark prototype of what a working dog should be: intelligent, strong with endurance, loyal and beautiful. Around , he found all these pre-requisites in Horand von Grafrath who he renamed Hektor von Schwaben. Stephanitz declared him the very first German Shepherd dog. He then proceeded to mate Hektor with other " worthy" mates. Among them there were white dogs. The writing under the picture , literally translates to: "long coated stock German Shepherd dog". It also happens to be white. I believe this is how the white , long coat gene of German Shepherd dogs was introduced into the German Shepherd breed. In Europe it has become a different breed. The history is fascinating and I will tell in greater details in other parts. At the moment I invite you to get to know us and to be patient as we build our web site. Email: [email protected] 5. Of all the listed breeders, their website offers the most useful information on the German Shepherd dog breed, along with their history and puppy development. The German Shepherd breed is a pretty usual one. The biggest price-affecting factor is the location. On the other hand, the difference between lines of German Shepherds also alters the price. Most reputable breeders will ask for more money. A detailed interview with the breeder should help you determine if you should buy from that breeder. As I mentioned, recognizing which breeder is a good one and which one is not can be determined in a few short steps. Availability The biggest tell-tale sign of an unreliable breeder is their unavailability. Such dogs often have mobility issues, as well as hereditary health problems. Breeding dogs with hip dysplasia, for example, is considered unreliable. This is a painful condition for dogs, and transferring it from parents to puppies and even further is pretty curel. Expect some questions in return because a good breeder wants to make sure their puppy goes into a safe new home. Meet and greet Lastly, ask to meet the puppy in person a few times before the adoption. Sure, the whole pandemic situation has got us locked down. But, if a breeder is a reliable person, he will find a way to update you. Also, they all seem to offer photos from day one up to the day of the adoption. This is lovely memorabilia for when your puppy grows up. I find them very remarkable and stunning dogs. You will, too, once you go through these reasons why German Shepherds are awesome! Their intelligence German Shepherds are known as some of the smartest dog biscuits in the bag. They come in third, right after Border Collies and Poodles. Their loyalty It is no wonder why German Shepherds are considered terrific guard dogs! Their loyalty is never questioned. Once a German Shepherd creates a bond with its owner and the rest of the family, he will do whatever it takes to keep the family safe. Their friendliness Whether they live surrounded by kids or other pets, German Shepherds are very affectionate and caring. German Shepherds can be very sweet with the little ones. There were even some cases noted when a GSD mom adopted a lost kitten! She took care of it like it was one of her own pups. Their health We all know that every dog is prone to a certain health condition. However, German Shepherds are very healthy, but they, too, have some minor health problems that may or may not occur. With proper care, German Shepherds can live a happy and long life of up to 13 years! Their adaptability German Shepherds should live in a house with a fenced yard. But, even if you have a place in the city, you can still own a German Shepherd, of course, if you exercise regularly. Also, German Shepherds are okay in all weather conditions. They have a nice, double coat in various colors , which sheds when they need extra coolness, and fluffs up when they need warmth. Despite being so amazing, German Shepherds may not work for all dog lovers. There are some downsides of this dog breed that might be big issues for potential dog owners. The shedding gets worse in the spring and fall when dogs like GSDs experience a seasonal blowout. Their dog hair will go everywhere — really everywhere! You may either lack the time for proper exercise, or simply be a couch potato. These dogs need at least an hour and a half every day of extreme exercises. Their size German Shepherds are large doggos. The only puppy thing they keep forever is their playful personality. German Shepherds can be pretty hefty. To put them in a fenced yard in order to keep a facility safe would be just cruel. German Shepherds are sociable dogs that need interaction. Commitment As I said, German Shepherds are sociable dogs. All dogs need attention. Some love being alone more than others, but not our GSD! Conclusion German Shepherd breeders in New York are finally all here in one place. I grew up with dogs and was always fascinated with things you could teach them and how much love an animal could offer to a human. In my adult life I originally started working with rescue dogs out of college, and helping foster and rehabilitating them which was a very rewarding experience and taught me a lot, especially patience! As I worked my career as an artist I also became fascinated with the sport of IGP to bring a dog to its highest point of drive and have control and such a trusting obedience relationship with them. I had started hunting for my first IGP dog and had a very hard time coming up with dogs with good health and good temperament from breeders. I had a dog but he lacked the qualities to get beyond a BH which we worked hard for and developed many health issues. I had then decided to get exactly what I wanted in a dog I would pursue breeding my own and start my own bloodline. Families are my biggest client so the need for a stable dog that can settle is very important when breeding future generations. I am still a huge supporter of rescue and I do still accept board and train clients from time to time when we are not preparing for trials or raising a litter. Our prices reflect on the hard work, training, and expensive titling and health testing we do. If you can not pay for a well bred dog from tested and titled parents we highly recommend checking out your local reputable German Shepherd rescue. Some great dogs can sometimes find their way into rescue at no fault of their own. We are located about one hour from Indianapolis, Indiana and also about two hours from Louisville, Kentucky. wheaten terrier labradoodle puppy - Holly Mitchell and Dylan Bradley made a bucket list for their dying pup — a golden retriever named Ted — to complete before the family says their final, heartbreaking goodbyes. The childhood sweethearts from Glasgow, Scotland, picked up the prized pet when Mitchell was struggling with her mental health at age .Ted gets lots of love, cuddles and kisses on a daily basis, and on his birthday, he always gets presents. They were also becoming increasingly worried when they noticed Ted was suddenly struggling to breathe during their daily walks. Ted always receives presents on his special day. Jam Press Ted went through many blood tests, an endoscopy and an invasive operation to take fluid samples. In early , he was ultimately diagnosed with a lung infection that ended up being pulmonary fibrosis. Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue and shortness of breath, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Jam Press Ted checks another item off his bucket list: a puppuccino. Still, he has proven all the doctors wrong and has outlived the month expectation and is now making the most of the time he has, checking things off his doggy bucket list. Jam Press Ted has proven all the doctors wrong and has outlived their month prognosis. Ted as a puppy — a runt that nobody wanted. Jam Press The family still has more on their bucket list to do, including: staying overnight at a hotel, getting a cheeseburger, eating breakfast in bed, having a picnic, a steak dinner, camping, eating ice cream, watching a sunset, baking treats, feeding the ducks, meeting farm animals, naming a star and planting something. But mainly, Mitchell is just trying to make the most of her time with the golden retriever. See, now that always sends my spider sense tingling when folks talks about buying a puppy. As a former breeder of chocolate Labs, the cost of a producing a litter of quality, well reared, socialised, and healthy pups is not inconsequential. Things like ensuring that the dam and sire are fully health checked prior to any covering, including but not only hip, elbow, and eye scores for both sire and dam, and blood tests to ensure both dogs do not carry any congenital or genetic disorders. Checking pedigrees, we had provenance of unbroken chocolate going back a minimum of 5 generations for our 4 dogs and researching for suitable dogs if breeding from outside the breeder group. The cost of whelping boxes, heat lamps, vet bedding, vet intervention if the dam or pups get into difficulty.Again all this is before the litter is born. So never feel offended if a responsible breeder asks about this, as all they want is to ensure their pups will be well looked after. Then when the fun really begins and the pups arrive the costs of the puppy food, health checks, regular cleaning of the whelping ares, that can be 3 laundry loads a day and vaccinations for the pups and dam. Potentially formula supplement if the dam cannot produce enough milk, so effectively hand rearing, until the pups are fully weaned. All this, and the quality of the pedigree etc, determines the cost of a pup. As a buyer, never, ever, get a puppy where you cannot have access to the puppy and dam, seeing the pup with its litter mates etc. Seeing the documents proving health scores of BOTH dam and sire, and that they comply with breed standards. A dog turns a house into a home, and you will never find a better or more loyal companion, but if cost is that important and you don't want to pay what a quality breeder will ask, please look at one of the many shelters that have dogs who, through no fault of theirs find themselves needing new loving forever homes, and they all have 4 legs a tail and a big heart waiting to give out love by the bucket full, just like a golden retriever
