The shelter she went to was going to euthanize her, but our rescue took her in and immediately sent her to the vet. Fluid was drained from her swollen abdomen several times during the 30 days that she was on antibiotics prior to the first heartworm treatment. She made it through that and the rest period, then she had her second heartworm treatment. She will be having more fluid drained again soon. Hopefully we will find out then that the treatment worked and if there was any permanent damage. We will update this bio more then. She was found with her deceased mother, both suspected hit by cars. Aysa was taken to a vet clinic…. And there she lived in one of their kennels. Aysa is completely paralyzed from the bottom of her ribcage down, and If no one could be found, Aysa would be euthanized, as living in a kennel at a vet clinic is not a life she should be experiencing. Joeys Paw asked us, we said yes. Mark took up the task of planning her freedom flight and his team at Code 3 worked together with Pilots and Paws to get Aysa from Indiana to PA. When Aysa arrived that Friday evening, she went home with the director to be assessed, evaluated and to await her foster being ready for her. Upon arrival we noticed she had a very infected sore on her hip. It was cleaned, treated. But it was concerning. Over the weekend, we learned she loved baths. She needed her bladder expressed, but she could defecate on her own. And she was. She went to the vet where we learned how catastrophic her injuries were. And that they could not be fixed with surgery, with any treatment. At that point in time, her leg was ravaged with infection. And then Aysa said, hold my ball. Her leg healed, other cuts and infections creeped in, but those healed too. She bonded with her foster mom, they settled into a routine, they became two halves of a whole. Aysa got stronger. She learned she likes to walk on her front legs. She wants to do it on her own. And here is what has been decided. Aysa will be staying with her foster mom… no longer a foster, but as a forever. They have their routine down. She is safe, loved, cherished, extremely well taken care of, and she is most importantly…. .So we may still ask for things for her from time to time. We breed all sizes of labradoodles, but concentrate mostly on mini labradoodles and medium labradoodles with an ocassional litter of large standard size labradoodles. We have found the miniature and medium sized labradoodles to be the perfect size for families on the go. They are wonderful companions and are just the right size for a snuggle on the couch, sleeping at the foot of the bed, or riding in the car running errands. On a personal note, our family fell in love with labradoodles when we saw what a patient, loyal companion a labradoodle was for our 6 year old son with autism. I arranged a bunch of the keyboard instruments and things like a well-calibrated cutoff pedal for the Roland Juno; also I had brought my Dunlop Heil talk box just for laughs, which later turned out to be a nice sound for keyboardist Shaun Martin to use on the track Sleeper. Some years later, I saw Snarky Puppy perform their latest studio album live, via a stream of their Werchter festival appearance. Not the most exotic product idea ever, perhaps… but nonetheless non-existent! Building the BenderBox Bela turned out to be the perfect platform to develop a usable, road-worthy prototype in very little time. Essentially taking a tutorial PD pitch bending patch, tweaking its parameters a little bit, connecting up a Roland pitchbender I had lying around… the basic, low-latency system was made essentially in a day. Next came typical challenges like designing and constructing a nice box for it - luckily my local hackerspace RevSpace. The box was designed in Fusion , making use of the parametric features within that to make a finger joint box with specific dimensions. Seeing the pictures and videos of the BenderBox in action was very very cool. See it in action in this clip at around 1 minute 11 seconds: Later, it was a lot of fun to see it in action in the Royal Albert Hall, with Bobby Sparks again wailing on the clav - such a powerful sound in combination with wahwah and distortion. This allowed for fluid switching of instruments and a broader range of sound than we normally hear from the two of them - while Justin and Bill frequently play Rhodes and synthesizers with Snarky Puppy, there are only a handful of occasions where either of them get their hands on a clavinet. As usual, exact models of keyboard varied from show-to-show based on backline availability. Nord, clavinet, Mellotron, and Moog are all clearly visible in this shot with the Rhodes, Prophet, and second Moog behind Justin in the background.
