These are dogs that are strong, intelligent, alert, courageous, energetic, and loyal. The breed excels as a guardian and these dogs can be trained to perform a range of important tasks. But most of all, this is a dog that protects the ones he or she loves and holds dear. Naming Advice When it comes to naming your German Shepherd, there are a variety of factors to keep in mind. Check out these super cute Pet ID Tags! Personality Finding the right name may not be immediately apparent, and sometimes it takes a while to decide which moniker fits your pup best. Wait for his or her personality to fully emerge before choosing the ideal name. Spend a little time with your new friend and the perfect name will come. Name Length A good rule of thumb is to keep the number of syllables in the dog's name to one or two at most. Three is acceptable but the shorter the name, the easier it is for your dog to hear and respond to commands. Clear communication is imperative for German Shepherds, particularly during training. Avoid Confusion Some names may sound like commands and this will only serve to confuse your pup. If you name your German Shepherd something that sounds identical to those and other commands, obedience is going to be an uphill battle for both you and your pet. Perhaps one of these names will fit your pet best, or maybe these names will help you think of the best possible name for your particular pup. German Shepherds have distinct personality traits and all of these names can reflect those attributes every time you call his or her name. Choosing the right name for your male German Shepherd is a fascinating endeavor. While contemplating, consider the defining attributes of the breed — their unparalleled intelligence, formidable strength, and remarkable adaptability. A Brainstorming Activity If you find yourself struggling to land on the perfect name, why not try a little observation? Spend some quality time with your new German Shepherd puppy or rescue dog, and simply watch them. Note down every detail, from the color of their coat to their distinct walking style, and any observable personality traits. Not only will this activity foster an immediate bond with your new puppy, but it will also serve as a rich source of naming inspiration! Among the thousands of potential names, certain ones stand out as fitting for male German Shepherds. As a breed known for their bravery, intelligence, and capability, they deserve a name that reflects their stature. Rin Tin Tin was a star of the silver screen, featuring in 26 Warner Brothers films from the early 20th century until his death in .Buddy, another prominent name, belonged to the first seeing eye dog owned and trained by Frank Morris. The intelligence, trainability, and strength of the dog meant that it was soon adapted for other purposes, such as being police dogs, military dogs, and, of course, household pets. German shepherds have a rich history, and this can offer some interesting naming options. Beowulf — one of the first puppies of the breed, ideal for strong dogs with sweet personalities Heinz von Starkenburg — one of the first puppies of the breed, perfect if they are sweet like baked beans Hektor Linksrhein — after the father of the breed, a great name if you are adopting an older German shepherd Horand von Grafrath — Horand or Grafrath after the very first German shepherd recognized at shows, the ideal name for sleeker examples of the breed Max von Stephanitz — Max or Stephan or Stephanie after the founder of the breed Phylax — after the Phylax society founded in the late 19th century to standardize the breed Pilot — one of the first puppies of the breed, and a name for a dog that likes to take the lead on walks Names Of German Gods And Goddesses Pre-Christian Germanic religion is a rich and interesting culture linked closely to the Norse religion. Why not name your German shepherd after one of their fierce gods or goddesses? Why not name your dog after some of the famous Germans that have made their mark on history. Keep It Short Choose something short, ideally only one or two syllables, or at least something that can be shortened. This is because it is easier for dogs to learn shorter names, which means they will start responding when you call sooner than if you chose a longer and more complicated name for them. Considering that it is the nickname that you will be using most often and that they will recognize best, make sure you consider their nickname just as carefully as their full name. Consider The First Letter It is a good idea to choose something that starts with a sibilant consonant or blend consonants, such as an S or an SH, or a hard commanding consonant like a K or C. These subtle choices will make it easier for your dog to distinguish their name from all the other ambient noise around them, which means it will also be easier for you to get their attention. Avoid Names That Sound Like Other Important Words Avoid names that sound too much like commands that you will use regularly, as this can just confuse your pup. If their name sounds too much like a command that you use regularly, such as sit or stay, they may confuse the two words. This is why it is rarely a good idea to choose something rude or potentially offensive. All too often, people give their dogs names that they think are funny at the time and then find they are embarrassed to use it later. Remember, everyone in your family who is responsible for your dog will also need to be able to use their name with ease. You can read our guide to teaching your dog their name here. The Verdict Finding the perfect name for your dog really is about exposing yourself to lots of inspiration and ideas until you come across something that feels right. After that, you should sense-check your name to make sure it works. Hopefully, the lists in this article have provided you with some inspiration and our guidelines for checking a name can help you find the perfect name for your German shepherd pup. My boxer has just had puppies and one of the brown puppies has blue eyes. Does that automatically mean that she will be blind or will that eventually go away? The puppies are 3 to 4 weeks old. Photo Credit: Katie! Here's what I would do: hold a treat in front of the dog's face. Then move it up and down. If the dogs head goes up and down or it looks like it's looking at the treat, then the dog might not be blind. All puppies are born with blue eyes. Answer by Doc's wife It is too early to tell, it might be just fine. The only genetic problem I know of in this breed is white boxers have hearing issues. Answer by anwen55 All puppies have blue eyes when they are born. Eye color is not an indication of blindness, the only way you can tell is to take it to the vet. Answer by K9 Crazy It's really hard to tell at such a young age. Puppies that young can't see very well even though they have their eyes open. It's best to wait until the pup is a few weeks older to test it out. A good test is to drop a treat on the floor and see if the puppy looks at it and is able to find it with no problem. Or you can wave your hand in front of the puppy's face and see if it follows your hand. Answer by pat We had a fawn and white male with blue eyes who recently died and we are looking for a boxer puppy with blue eyes. Know better? Give your own answer! See other posts in blind , boxer , Q and A Reader Interactions. Yes, I do believe they like one another. It only took a few days for Allie to accept Bruno into her pack. How do I know she has accepted him? Because Allie started pushing her food around , elling Bruno not to eat—a sure sign that she accepts the little puppy into her pack. He is deaf so we have to watch him if we let him out of the fence, because it wouldn't do any good to holler for him, since he cannot hear us. He also has blue eyes , which I think is very rare, because most Boxers that I see only have one blue eye , and he has 2 blue eyes. He likes to sleep, play, eat , he likes to be in the house because his hair is thin and short. He also likes to play with my Australian Shepherd Dixie. He always has to sleep in the bed with me. He has to either be leaning on you, sitting on your foot , or lying on you when you are in the bed. He absolutely HATES getting a bath , but he likes it when he gets out and you put the towel over his whole body and start rubbing him all over. His bad habits are: chewing up my little sisters toys , barking when he can't see or find you. He gets a lot of exercise during the day, because we have an acre fenced in where they can run as much as they like. He's the biggest clown I know and snores like you wouldn't believe, but we love him dearly. Shaggy the Boxer in his crate with a cone on his head after being neutered. My name is Bear, by the way. Now go on.Notice the ears are not cropped and the tail is not docked. It is illegal to do so in a lot of European countries. Much like a boxer might spar with an opponent. The Boxer is thought to be a modern descendant of larger mastiff-type fighting dogs that were bred to hunt large game like bison and bears. The white Boxer may be smaller than these ancestors, but this is still a very powerful dog. White Boxer Dog Appearance Contrary to popular belief about the white Boxer, this coat color is not actually rare in Boxers. These include the brown and white Boxer dog, the black and white Boxer dog, the brindle and the fawn. Here again, if the white portions of the coat equal 30 percent or more of the total coat, the Boxer will be considered to have a white Boxer coat color even if there are other colors or patterns present in the coat as well. One of the most enduring myths about white Boxer puppies with blue eyes is that they will be blind later in life. For white Boxers today, blue is considered just another possible eye color. Shedding and Grooming The white Boxer, like all Boxers, has a very short, neat, single layer coat. However, pale dogs can look mucky more quickly than darker haired dogs. Therefore you might need to brush your dog down slightly more often, and bath them more frequently too. Are They Hypoallergenic? The Boxer has a short coat that sheds throughout the year. They spread allergens through the proteins in their dander and saliva, and are not a good match for human allergy sufferers unfortunately. The white Boxer typically weighs 50 to 80 pounds, with adult males outweighing adult females by about 15 pounds. An adult Boxer may stand 21 to 25 inches tall paw to shoulder. Temperament and Personality The white Boxer has the same playful, friendly, and sociable temperament and personality that the Boxer dog breed is known for overall. In fact, the Boxer is often so exuberant that they need continual training and reinforcement not to bowl you over or leap up onto you just to say hello. Even if you just saw each other five minutes ago! Are Boxers Good With Kids? However, the Boxer is high energy and loves to jump up. Boxers tend to do well with other Boxers so long as they are opposite genders. Same-gender Boxers are known to be somewhat intolerant of each other. Guarding Tendencies Both the white male and white female Boxer dog can make a good family watchdog. For this reason, early and ongoing training and socialization is a vital part of helping your white Boxer learn how to welcome guests. And be a healthy and productive member of your family and the local community. A white Boxer will bark as necessary. For a Boxer, often this means barking to alert you when a stranger is present or if something seems amiss. Too much barking may indicate your Boxer is bored or lonely. In addition to strategic barking, you can expect your Boxer to drool more than a bit. Many owners also report that Boxers tend to snore, which may be due to having the shortened muzzle characteristic of brachycephalic dog breeds. Training and socialization The white Boxer, like all Boxers, can be stubborn during training. This is especially true during the short attention span puppyhood phase! Boxers can be independent thinkers, and this arises from their breed history as a hunting dog bred to hunt prey far ahead of their people. They do best in training when you keep each session fresh and interesting and avoid too much repetition. The Boxer is a flat-out amazing canine athlete and will enjoy and excel in canine sports like agility and search-and-rescue. These dogs are also top picks for K-9 and service dog roles. These dogs love to play, jump, run and chase and you should make sure your yard is escape-proof before letting your Boxer out. Are White Boxer Dogs Healthy? Most purebred dog breeds have certain health concerns that are associated with breed. Boxer dogs are no exception. Because white Boxer dogs can have a higher susceptibility to deafness, ethical breeders do not use white Boxer dogs in their breeding stock. However, this does not mean Boxer parent dogs with other coat colors will not produce white Boxer puppies. As long as all other health tests come back clear, white Boxer puppies can make wonderful pet dogs and have the same 10 to year average life expectancy as do all other Boxer dogs. Boxers can be particularly prone to developing heart disease, including aortic stenosis, which is often initially detectable during routine veterinary exams when the vet hears a heart murmur. Often murmurs related to aortic stenosis, which are different than puppy heart murmurs that resolve with age, are not detectable until the Boxer is an adult. Another all-too-common heart issue is cardiomyopathy, which is often detectable via heart arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat. Boxer dogs that exhibit signs of weakness, lethargy, or collapse may be suffering from early stage cardiomyopathy. They are also prone to: Canine cancer. Boxer dogs are usually found in brown or black coat, but there is a certain percentage of white and faun boxers with a major chance of having blue eyes. Blue eyed dogs are commonly found with white fur coats, and this is a genetic reason. Predominately seen with white patches; these boxer dogs have a high chance of being deaf. This genetic disorder that has traveled over the years. Blue eyed boxer puppies can be found having brown eye patches which is a desirable trait and makes the boxer dog appear to be friendlier. One fact about faun boxer with blue eyes and white boxer with blue eyes is that, these dogs can inherit blue eyes even if their parents have black or dark brown eyes. This recessive gene is known to be found in every boxer puppy and has different reasons to show up. As a puppy grows up, it is born with a differing blue eye color. Over the few weeks they tend to mature and the color is gradually changed. Boxer dogs which have larger white and lighter patches on the body are known to have blue eyes. One of the types is the Brindle boxer with blue eyes. This breed has a shiny short hair fur coat, with patches around the eye. The personality trait of these is super happy, and fun loving pets. These boxer dogs have five types of marking son their bodies which are lighter shades of brindle, fawn, and white. They have a large number of marking placements all over. Faun Boxer Dogs with Blue Eyes This breed is found to have different shades of hues, with varying white markings in a flashy way. These are found in a standard way on the muzzle, near the tummy and back. This faun shade varies from light to gold and dark. The blue eyes are a natural gene, whereas the white shades are found on the paws, ankles, chest, and muzzle. The white patch is called a check pattern. With a wide variety of boxer breed types, you get to explore the different shades of this breed. The white boxer is a healthy and that of a brindle or faun boxer. It is a complete myth to think that the white boxer dogs are an Albino production. They are as normal as any boxer breed and usually are born with blue colored eyes. It is our goal to provide a happy, healthy Brittany Spoodle that your family will grow to love as a member of the family. When it comes time to find that special puppy, no matter whether you call it a Brittany Spoodle, Brittany Doodle, or a Brittnepoo , to raise in your home, we hope that you will look no further than Bow Creek Kennels. Our parent dogs are all genetically health tested to ensure your puppy has a strong start for a long healthy life. Bow Creek Kennels specializes in a breeding program that has led to high quality, healthy Brittany Doodle puppies. This allows the puppies at Bow Creek to enjoy a socially and physically active environment. Reserve Your Puppy — Kick off the process by filling out a puppy application. This will require a closer look at specific puppies and or litters unless you are looking for the first available. If so, we can work with you in deciding which breed would be the best fit for your family, the Brittany Spoodle or the Bernedoodles puppy. Contact is made within 48 hours of puppy application being received and a deposit will need to be placed to hold the desired Brittany Spoodle. Select Your Puppy — Once puppies hit 5 to 6 weeks old, it is time to select a puppy. Bow Creek Kennels works closely with their clients to ensure that each family has access to a puppy that matches their needs. Health guarantees and puppy contracts will be signed at this time. Ground delivery is also available with varying costs based on the state in question. Most F1 Brittanydoodles will have loose wavy gorgeous curls, but tight curls are possible as well. Puppies will not typically have straight hair with this cross. Although, it's important to note that most F1 Brittanydoodle will start out as newborns puppies with the appearance of straight fur and their waves and curls develop as they mature. Their appearance can range from Brittany features or those of the Poodle or somewhere in-between. The first generation benefits the most from hybrid vigour. Tighter curls are more predominant in this type of F1B Brittanydoodle, but looser curls and straighter coats more like the F1 do show up as well. Their appearance will lean more towards the Poodle features, but again, Brittany features can be present. A Double Doodle is the fusion of two hybrids with complementing attributes bred together to create a new hybrid with more hybrid vigour. Their appearance will be most like the F1 Brittanydoodle with wavy to loose wavy curls. The benefit of such a cross is that they are "second best" for retaining hybrid vigour. Generations Explained. Brittnepoos are a hybrid between two historic hunting breeds and carry over that desire to work. The Brittnepoo acquires this trait from its Poodle lineage. This makes them a great breed for those who suffer from allergies and want less shedding around the house. The Brittnepoo can have multiple coat types. Brittnepoo puppies often have their appearances modified. When Britnepoo puppies are still young, their tails are normally docked to less than 4 inches, and their dewclaws may be removed. And while many intelligent dogs have stubborn, independent streaks, the Brittnepoo is very eager to please and just loves to see their owner happy. Are These Dogs Good for Families? They just love having a playmate they can go on adventures with. These pups are very energetic and need their exercise. The Brittnepoo is a very sociable dog and just loves making new friends wherever they go. Leaving the dog park may become a chore, though. These are some active and robust pups and must be cared for accordingly. The food you choose for them should have a high protein content to build lean muscle, moderate fat content to store energy, and healthy complex carbohydrates to provide clean fuel to burn. Your Brittnepoo will require between cups of food per day, depending on their size and activity level. The amount of exercise these pooches need will easily offset extra calories. These buggers are full of energy! They love to run, play, and explore. Britnepoos need a minimum of 10 miles of exercise a week—sometimes more, depending on your dog. And they love being put to work. This will help keep them both physically and mentally engaged to prevent stubbornness and destructive behavior. Anything that can keep them positively challenged is a perfect activity for them. Just like most highly intelligent pups, Brittnepoos have a bit of an independent streak in them which, in other dogs, makes for a difficult train. However, such is not the case with the Brittnepoo. Their desire to please is much greater than their stubbornness and will generally take to training very quickly. Instead, lavish them with praise and rewards. The hardest part about training a Brittnepoo is leash training. Due to their long family history of hunting dogs, this breed can have severe wanderlust. Just remain firm and your pooch will learn to better control those urges. The combination of smooth, feathery spaniel hair and fine, curly Poodle hair will require multiple brushings a week to keep from matting. Also, the floppy nature of their ears leads water to be trapped within and promote bacteria growth. Be sure to give them a good cleaning to wash out any foreign material or microbes. Just be sure to take them to the vet for regular checkups and keep an eye out for the following conditions. Minor Conditions. Life Span Did You Know? A Brittnepoo is a cross between a Brittany Spaniel and a Poodle. Although a mixed-breed can inherit any combination of traits from their parents, a Brittnepoo tends to be an energetic, fun, and loving dog that makes a great family pet. The Brittnepoo is a sensitive dog with a sweet disposition and a fun-loving, energetic personality. They love spending time with their families and tend to get along well with children and other dogs. They do have a high prey drive, so they may need some extra socialization with smaller pets in the household. They do tend to do well with smaller pets they have been raised with, but will often retain the urge to chase smaller animals outside of the home. The Brittnepoo is a moderately adaptable dog breed. Because of their energy, they tend to be a better fit for homes with yards where they can run. They can adapt to apartment living, but you will need to dedicate plenty of time throughout the day to make sure they get enough exercise. Although this dog tends to have a fluffy-looking coat and does well in most climates, they may need some winter dog products to stay warm through cold temperatures. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to heat. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing issues on to puppies. You can also ask to see relevant health clearances or test results. The Brittnepoo is also one of the dog breeds at-risk for developing bloat. Although they are high-energy, the Brittnepoo is a highly trainable dog breed that can be a good fit for owners of all experience levels. They are highly intelligent, eager to please, and tend to be in-tune with their owners. This means they pick up on things quickly. They respond best to consistent training focused on positive rewards. They tend to strengthen the bond you have with your puppy and offer opportunities to socialize a puppy. In general, the Brittnepoo coat sheds moderately or not much at all. Brushing is daily or every other day to prevent mats. Bathing is on an as-needed basis and professional grooming may be necessary every weeks. Trimming nails monthly can sometimes be enough to keep them from growing too long. Floppy ears tend to trap more dirt and moisture, which makes them more prone to developing ear infections. Dental care for dogs is often overlooked, which is why gum disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs. By brushing teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste every day, you can help prevent dental diseases later in life. The Brittnepoo is a high-energy dog breed. Daily walks plus at least an hour of time to run and play every day are usually sufficient for this dog. But, they will likely be up for more activity if you are. They tend to be athletic and versatile dogs that can handle a wide range of activities once they have finished growing. A fully-grown Brittnepoo usually stands inches tall and weighs pounds A Brittnepoo generally lives for years. Although Brittnepoo tends to be the most popular name, these dogs are also sometimes called a Brittany Spoodle, Brittanypoo, or just a Brittany Poodle Mix. Featured Brittnepoo Article.

Why Us Only a short few years ago, English Cream Golden Retrievers in America were rarely entrusted to breeders when European breeders thoroughly trained and mentored them. American Golden Retriever standards are still maintained in America, and that only by a handful of breeders truly breeding to the standard. Unfortuately, like the American Goldens, The English Cream Golden Retiever lines have recently fallen into the hands of breeders that are not even remotely interested in breeding to standard. Have you ever known someone that decided to breed their dog because they thought their dog was so great, that his lines needed to be passed on. Of course, that is no reason to breed a dog. There are many health tests, pedigree analytics and breed standards to meet. Coleen, of all the breeds out there, why did you decide to breed English Cream Golden Retrievers? I loved JJ fiercely, and then his son, Chipper. So dark that you knew you had an Irish Setter! After a brief internet search, I began to see a different Golden. The European, or more commonly called English Cream Golden caught my eye. Their round black eyes and nose spellbound me in stark contrast to their stunning cream-colored coat. That blocky head and stocky build became the Golden standard I would grow to love. William photo courtesy of Council House Goldens How long have you been breeding? The decision to breed Goldens happened when a breeder told me that they would soon become a thing of the past. Their popularity created a profitable market, and careless breeding became the rule rather than the exception. The drive to breed with intention and purpose drove me to ask questions and look for answers in the not so familiar places. The research and questions that began almost ten years ago remain with me and continue to influence every step I take. What sets me apart from other breeders? What does set me apart? Most breeders do health testing, and I do as well. Not many feed their dogs a species-appropriate raw diet, but I do. I choose classes from a Ph. I appreciate the conventional and unconventional approach to healthcare and carefully research all of the standards. The only skin I have in the game is the health and well-being of my dogs. Do these things make me different? Perhaps to some small degree. That sentiment expresses my goals as a breeder. Yesterday and today, my goals are health, temperament, and beauty. But, my knowledge of health, temperament, and beauty is ever-evolving. We try not to. Our girls have reputations; some have big litters, and some have average litters. We even accuse one of the girls of being stingy! Depending on the girl, I generally limit the reservations to three or four girls and three or four boys. To make matters more challenging, I never know how many girls and boys we are getting until they are here. This reservation thing has been known to keep me up at night. Waiting for a puppy is grueling. The waitlist can be up to a year and sometimes longer and is difficult for the family and us. Ever sat on a three-legged stool? You know, the short one with the big legs? I see health testing like that stool. The coefficient of inbreeding is another leg, and genetic testing via Paw Print Genetic makes the stool complete. Imagine my surprise when I was told that feeding dogs what wolves eat in the wild was what I should do. It was time to dig in and do one of my favorite things. I read books about the principles of the raw diet, written by veterinarians. I read about how kibble was made, the sourced ingredients and what a label reveals, and what it hides. Can anyone say controversy? The raging battle between some of the raw feeders and kibble feeders was both disappointing and revealing. I have been determined to stay true to my love of knowledge and my disdain for bickering by staying out of the time-sucking social media food fights. Today, I feed raw meat and bone and add eggs from our pastured chickens. I make kefir from our raw fresh milk and toss in a few homegrown garden veggies. The benefits are tangible and proven in the health profile of our adults and puppies. Kiah photo courtesy of Council House Goldens How do you figure out the best home for a puppy? No matter how detailed, the puppy application is inadequate in matching the perfect family with the perfect puppy. Phone visits and emails help round out the process. Hearing what a family hopes for in their new family member goes a long way in making a good match. Tell us about that. We have promised to give a puppy from each litter, or in some instances, an entire litter, to be raised by carefully selected foster families. We are empowered by the knowledge that our dogs are fit for a job such as this. Right of first refusal provides a pathway for families that can no longer keep a dog they got from us. We will take a dog back to ensure that no dog from our program is placed in a shelter. We have had three dogs come back home. In every case, the dogs were successfully rehomed and are living good lives. Did you know counting puppies before they are born is a thing? Experienced breeders tell the next generation breeder that an x-ray is safe and highly accurate in counting puppies once the female is 49 days pregnant. I remember reading and rereading that. Back to the research. I found an article noting cancer in pups as young as two years of age that had been exposed to x-ray before birth. I had to wonder about the effect of repeat radiation every time the female was exposed as well. Counting puppies with x-ray would not be used in the breeding program. Council House has grown beyond my expectations and abilities to manage everything. Thankfully, I have a family that is deeply committed to this work. Our dogs live with us in our homes. After all, Goldens are part human, right?! If that connection with their family is lost, our goal to keep the Golden into perpetuity is lost too. We are not offended by dog hair and allow them to join us on the couch while watching a movie or reading a book. No matter how big they get, they will always be lap dogs! Gabe x Josie puppies photo courtesy of Council House Goldens Thank you, Coleen, for sharing this information and all your wonderful photos with us. I know first-hand from meeting you, evaluating your litters and training the dogs you produce, that your program is a cut above the rest! The adoption process is an opportunity to blend our family and yours, and we keep in touch with many of our puppies' families over the years. Our advanced health testing, cutting-edge socialization, and continual customer support provide the best experience possible for families who adopt our golden retrievers. We know purchasing a puppy is a huge decision in your life, and we invite you to join us. We believe in good health. Many breeders focus on a "show" quality dog or a certain look. At Summer's Goldens, we focus on life-long family companions. While we carry many Champion bloodlines, we use careful genetic selection to lower the COI Coefficient Of Inbreeding of our dogs and improve the breed. Lower COI contributes to better long-term health and benefits golden retrievers as a whole. We don't breed just for today; we breed with the future in mind to have healthy, happy golden retrievers for decades to come. We follow the health-testing guidelines of the American Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of America by examining our adult dogs' hips, elbows, eyes, and heart. We only want the finest goldens to become mothers and fathers. We also do genetic testing through Embark , one of the most reputable and thorough genetic companies. By pairing healthy, genetically diverse parents, we provide the best possible conditions for puppies to live long and healthy lives. This is especially important for purebred dogs like golden retrievers. Not only do we focus on health, but we also take extra care to socialize our puppies well. We strive to cultivate friendly personality traits in our Golden Retriever Puppies for sale. High-quality socialization during the first two months of a puppy's life is one of the most critical components of its lifelong development. Socialization provides a strong foundation for emotionally healthy, well-adjusted adult dogs. This is easy to claim but hard to do. There simply is no replacement for quality time spent with puppies. We follow the lead of Dr. Carmen L. Battaglia and start with early neurological stimulation ENS when the puppies are just three days old. We continue thorough socialization until the puppies leave us. This includes exposing our puppies to a variety of different surfaces to walk on; human touch all over their bodies; temperature changes; different sounds like fireworks, doorbells, cats meowing, and car engines; children; baths and nail trims, and more. We want our puppies to be more than just physically healthy; we want them to be mentally and emotionally ready for their future families. You are welcome to read our reviews on Google and Facebook , as well as the Testimonials on our site. Our goal is to improve the breed of golden retrievers and provide outstanding companions for families. Contact us today and experience joy through our golden retrievers! What can you expect when you pick up your puppy? All of our puppies receive plenty of love and attention. We include a care package with every puppy to help you get started on the right paw. It includes the puppy's baby photos, a blanket with the mother's scent, toys, a bag of the puppy's current food, and more to help your puppy transition as smoothly as possible. We offer lifelong support for every puppy and welcome families' questions and updates. We feel responsible for our puppies and want them to have loving homes their entire lives. We ask potential families to complete the Puppy Application on our website. We allow families to choose their puppy based on the order of deposits received. All deposits are non-refundable unless we do not have a puppy for you. Please contact Marta with any questions! Where do our Golden Retrievers live? Check out the state pages devoted to each location where our Golden Retriever adopters live in the Midwest. Breeders VS. The sad truth is that many pet store purchased pups actually come from puppy mills. Basically, there is zero authenticity with pet stores. When it comes to adopting any animal from a pet store, there is an increased risk of unforeseen health or genetic problems. You also cultivate a life-long relationship with the breeder, meaning support is available to you anytime you may need it. With My Golden Retriever Puppies , you have the option to come and visit both the puppy and the breeder in person! Golden Retrievers are an adaptable breed, meaning they are better at adapting to seasonal changes and various types of climate than certain other breeds. Goldens sport a double-coat, which ensures that these sweet pups are able to tolerate slightly colder temperatures than their friends from other breeds. Your pup deserves better than that, which is why here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we ensure high-quality care is taken of your pet at all times. We even have all types of golden retrievers for sale! At My Golden Retriever Puppies, we pride ourselves on our golden retriever price being fair and affordable for high quality puppies. Location Information for Indiana Customers Our home office is located in Ohio, but we understand that long-distance travel can be inconvenient. If you prefer to meet a breeder in person, they may be able to offer private visits at their home. Of course! Here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we value family and authenticity, which is why we always guarantee our pups through our 2-year genetic health guarantee. Like adopting a Golden Retriever from a pet store, there is an increased risk when adopting a pup from a rescue center or shelter as well. For example, pups purchased through a shelter or rescue center are far less likely to come with the kinds of health guarantees and reassurances that a breeder can provide. What type of Golden Retrievers are sold in Indiana? We have some good news! Ready to make your Golden Retriever dreams come true? Take a look at our convenient list of available puppies. How do I know which breeders to trust in Indiana? Our independent network of trusted breeders have already been pre-screened and verified, so that you can focus on what really matters: choosing your dream puppy. Have Questions? Puppy Love in Teacup Size! Whether you're new to dogs or an avid dog person looking for a fluffy new addition to the family, Goldendoodles make a fantastic choice thanks to their delightful mix of Poodle and Golden Retriever traits. One of those traits is their cloud-soft coat of fur, which only gets curlier and more adorable as they grow. And with your Teacup Goldendoodle, you'll get an extra touch of hypoallergenic qualities inherited from that extra dose Poodle in the second-generation line — along with that doting size we all love in our little Poodles! But more Poodle doesn't necessarily mean there's any less Golden Retriever! Our Teacup Goldendoodles get plenty of Retriever genes from one side of the family! DNA science is a wonderful thing, and without getting too deep into it, we can happily say that our Teacup Goldendoodles are exactly the intelligent, highly trainable and affectionate dogs that breeders had in mind when they sought the perfect hypoallergenic guide dog only a few decades ago. But now, thanks to responsible dog breeding, you can even have your Goldendoodle in Teacup and Micro Teacup sizes — with all your favorite Goldendoodle Traits from tail to snoot. Just precious! Happiness is A Teacup Doodle There's so much to love about Teacup Goldendoodles you won't believe they fit in your arms with room to spare! Just like their big brothers and sisters in the F1 Mini Goldendoodle and F1B Mini Goldendoodles, Teacup Doodles bring a world of affection to your life with all the smarts to make you wonder what's going on in those fluffy little heads! Combined with cherished traits of loyalty, trainability and gentle temperament inherited from their parent lines the Poodle and Golden Retriever, the Goldendoodle's intelligence makes them the ideal companion who simply can't wait to make you happy. Among their many wonderful qualities, you'll find that Teacup Goldendoodles respond exceptionally well to the tone of your voice, which can make them very loyal both at home and outdoors. And in those sweet puppy eyes you'll find they really care about how you feel and what you think, and are always eager to bring comfort to your side and into your arms. As highly sociable dogs, Goldendoodles thrive in family environments and at the side of loving owners who appreciate their deep companionship, which happens to make them a fantastic choice for therapy dogs who just want to see people happy. It's no wonder that Goldendoodles are gaining so much popularity in America and around the world — and we can't wait to introduce you to your future teacup pup! Life Outdoors and On the Go with Your Teacup Doodle When you're not snuggling up with those soft and wavy curls, you're sure to find that your Teacup Goldendoodle loves to have fun just as much as any dog. Don't let their adorable teacup sizes fool you — there's plenty of Golden Retriever in that Doodle! Golden Retrievers are famous for their agile and energetic natures, and have a reputation as bird dogs who love to romp around and follow their nose. As part Golden Retriever, your little Teacup Doodle inherits their healthy love of activity, and is always eager to join you for a day at the park, a walk in the woods, and on big adventures that take you—and your pup—to new places. Like Retrievers, Goldendoodles can learn to swim and are sure to love the water, and won't hesitate to explore the world at your side, whether it's sniffing around the neighborhood or seeing its many wonders. This makes Teacup Goldendoodles the perfect companion for travelers and on-the-go lifestyles — and they even fit in your arms! There's No Better Friend to Have at Home Goldendoodles are a very special breed of dog that can easily adapt to your lifestyle and energy levels, whether you're the outdoorsy type or like nothing more than a quiet night at home. As much as they love to get out of the house, Goldendoodles are just as happy snuggling up on the couch, getting some fresh air on the porch, and spending some nice quiet time at your feet, on your lap, and in your arms. One of the reasons why Goldendoodles make such excellent companions is their loyalty and intelligence, which lets them read your energy levels and emotions, happily share in your ideal lifestyle and comfort, and all the while do everything they can to make you smile. Calling them people-pleasers is almost an understatement — they're just such best friends! Perfectly Precious Teacup Pups. Hypoallergenic and Easy Grooming Delight When dog hair gets all over the floor, couch and blankets, it can turn dog ownership into a part-time cleaning job. It can also be a deal-breaker for people with moderate-to-severe allergies whose sneezing fits and itchy eyes can make it next to impossible to spend quality time with their pets. And with many dog breeds, grooming must be done on a frequent basis to keep the dogs healthy and their shedding under control. But with Goldendoodles, owners can delight in a virtually shed-free coat that leaves next to nothing behind. It makes dog ownership accessible to allergic dog lovers who just want a furry best friend without the sneezes, and for easy cleaning and grooming that's perfect for busy dog owners. Of course, all dogs still require occasional trimming, brushing and clipping to look their best and prevent matting, but compared to many dog breeds, Goldendoodles are so low maintenance — you'd think they freshen up on their own! Meet Your Teacup Pup On Video Our doors are always open to any interested puppy parents willing to make their way to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex DFW area in Texas, where we welcome you to our family-raised Goldendoodle puppy environment with all the love and affection puppies need to grow into the best pets. We look forward to showing you what makes ABCs Puppy Zs different and why more and more dog owners around the country are choosing us for their next Goldendoodle Puppy. But if you can't make it all the way here, then not to worry, because our Puppy Video Calls not only let you see where and how these precious pups are raised — but even meet them face to snoot! Bring Home A Teacup Goldendoodle We're always happy to hear from excited puppy parents looking for the perfect dog to make every day more special. They are intelligent dogs that learn quickly and enjoy being obedience trained. They also get along well with other dogs and children, making them ideal family pets. These pups are active dogs that need plenty of exercise, but they are also content to lounge around the house with their families. Overall, Toy Goldendoodles make wonderful companion animals for people of all ages. Toy Goldendoodle Puppy Health Considerations Though generally very happy and long-lived — with an average lifespan of around years — our Toy Goldendoodles for sale are not without their unique health concerns. Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing one of our Toy Goldendoodle puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Toy Goldendoodle puppies are at a somewhat elevated risk for developing the following conditions: Hip Dysplasia Elbow Dysplasia Von Willebrand Disease Some of the most common health concerns for Toy Goldendoodles include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and von Willebrand disease. Hip dysplasia is a condition that can cause pain and lameness in the hips and legs. Elbow dysplasia is a condition that affects the elbow joint and can also cause pain and lameness. Von Willebrand disease is a bleeding disorder that can be potentially life-threatening. Finding a Toy Goldendoodle puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can also dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. The coat must be brushed at least once a week, and more if the dog is shedding. The coat should be shampooed every few weeks, using a mild dog shampoo. The coat should also be trimmed every few months, to keep it from getting too long. Meet Toy Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale. These dogs typically weigh between 10 and 25 pounds and stand around inches tall at the shoulder. They are known for their playful and affectionate personalities, as well as their low-shedding coats. They are also highly trainable and respond well to positive reinforcement training methods. These dogs are social and enjoy spending time with their families, making them great companions for children and other pets. The Micro Goldendoodle is a relatively low-maintenance breed for grooming and upkeep. They require regular brushing to prevent matting and tangling, but their low-shedding coat means they do not need frequent baths. You know what, for the most part, they all really get along. Well, except for Mr. Marty Snuggles, they all seem to have a problem with him. Maybe, it's his constant invasion of their personal space. Our goal is to not only produce healthy, well sounded puppies for shows, workforce, or therapy dogs but for also families across the United States. Labrador Retrievers are America's top purebred dog in popularity ratings. Their beautiful temperaments, good looks, and eagerness to please are just some of the reasons people love the labrador retriever! There have been countless Labradors breeders over the years; unfortunately, however, not all breeders breed to enhance or maintain breed standards as defined by the AKC, which has led to a wide variation in looks. It is commonly agreed however that there is an "American" type and an "English" type. The AKC yet has only one standard. Heartland Quality Labrador breeds only "English. Quality, as defined in the dictionary, is: "A Measure of excellence or state of being free from defects , deficiencies , and significant variations. We have never claimed to have the very best dogs. We do, however, argue that our dogs are excellent examples of the breed in conformation, character, disposition, and health. Contact Welcome Located in New Hampshire, we are a small family-owned kennel and have been breeding Labrador Retrievers for over 20 years. Our kids are now grown and gone and we have migrated back north to scenic Warner, New Hampshire to build our forever spot here for ourselves and the dogs. We raise sound English-style Labrador Retrievers. Before we consider a dog as breeding or stud quality, they are judged for temperament and conformation and must pass OFA hip and elbow clearances and eye clearances. Our Labradors are part of our family; we raise our puppies in our custom whelping room that is sanitary and climate-controlled. The room has gentle music playing and a bit of traffic every once in a while to show off the new additions when it is safe for visiting. We do our best to place our puppies in a home that best suits each puppy by conducting temperament screening and aptitude tests. We spend an enormous amount of time with these puppies and have had great success in evaluating the "right fit" of puppy to family. Goals My goal as a breeder is to produce a sound quality Labrador Retriever as close to the AKC standard to my liking. Every breeder has a preference to coat, size, movement, attitude, face and tail. The most important thing to remember in breeding is to keep in mind the purpose of the dog and ensure that they are physically able to get the job done for which they were bred. Our Boys. toy poodle puppies michigan - Share John and Katie Black have been fostering rescue dogs for a long time. They have been in constant contact with the Neuse River Golden Retriever Center and also adopted two dogs. They named the dogs Leroy and Winchester. Both the dogs are living their best lives with their loving owner in Raleigh, North Carolina. The couple had fostered many dogs and had generously loved all their pets. However, when Rosie, a Golden Retriever, arrived at her foster home, she was pregnant. Now that was something special for the couple as the mama dog would require a lot of nourishment and care. However, the biggest challenge was the birth process and caring for the young ones for at least 8 weeks to be strong and healthy. It was a huge responsibility, and John and Katie did an excellent job. The young puppies were born healthy, and the mama dog was also in perfect health. Rosie gave birth to 4 cow-colored puppies who looked completely different from their mother. After a lot of research and DNA analysis, they found that the markings on the puppies were of an American Foxhound. Hence, John and Katie now knew who the daddy was. However, Rosie did not find it strange that her young ones did not look like her and raised them well with the help of her family. The only trouble was that she did not produce enough milk to feed the pups. So, Katie and John had to help Rosie bottle-feed the young puppies. This is amazing how much effort human foster parents put in to help their pets during the most crucial phase of their life. The Blacks couple has fostered more than 20 dogs so when they encountered a heavily pregnant Golden Retriever, they were more than excited to welcome her puppies. At the time when Rosie began to live with the couple, she was nearing her due date. By the time she gave birth to her puppies, Katie and John were thrilled to see the puppies but they never expected that a little surprise was in the package. Credit: Instagram Rosie gave birth to four little puppies. They were super adorable but the puppies looked nothing like their mother. With black spots all over their white coat, the puppies looked more like baby cows than Golden Retriever puppies. Credit: Instagram While everyone was surprised by the shocking appearance of the newborn puppies, Rosie seemed to not mind about it. The couple then named the four puppies Daisy, Clarabelle, Betsy, and Moo, as inspired by their unique looks. According to The Nest, while it is true that a puppy will inherit traits from both of its parents, the chance of it looking like either of its parents depends on what genes each parent carries. Of course, none of that matters to Rosie who is enjoying her motherhood.

toy poodle puppies michigan - A dog is not just a pet, but a lifelong friend and companion. English Bulldog is one such breed who is extremely loyal, friendly, brave and have a strong sense of dedication towards their owners. They will stick to you like glue throughout their lifetime. How to teach an English bulldog not to bite? Bulldogs can bite for several reasons, but mostly they bite when they feel provoked or threatened. Puppies bite because they have not yet learned how to play properly with humans. Here are step by step instructions to teach your bulldog not to bite. Sit down and play with your bulldog. Let them bite your hand. Your bulldog should be startled, release, and step back. You can spray something bitter in their mouth to further the consequence if your bulldog is not starting to understand after going through steps a few times. An English bulldog looks scary and grumpy but is very calm and amiable. Many people are afraid of the English bulldogs because of their somewhat aggressive appearance, but they are the friendliest of all breeds. They are lovers and not fighters. Bulldogs make wonderful apartment pets and are mainly low-endurance dogs. But all dogs can have the bad habit of biting. An un-socialized adult English bulldog will also nip and bite. Under these circumstances, you should keep your English bulldog away from other dogs and people. It is important to make sure your bulldog learns not to nip and bite as biting will further the stereotype that bulldogs are dangerous, when they are really not dangerous at all when they are loved, trained, and socialized. How to Teach Your English Bulldog Puppy to Not Bite Every English bulldog goes through the puppy stage and learns to interact with others by biting, nipping, and licking. Biting occurs when your puppy is growing and exploring their environment. Your English bulldog puppy may not hurt you intentionally, but as a puppy he is still capable of inflicting harm to you. If this behavior is not rectified and controlled, your puppy can carry this into adulthood. No, And Here's Why! Your puppy might grow up thinking that there is nothing wrong in biting and nipping humans. As their teeth grow and their weight also increases, the harmless biting which you once found cute can turn into rough bites and play. An English bulldog is not aggressive by nature but like other dogs can show aggression if provoked. They are ferociously protective of their owners and others in the family. If they feel their owner or loved ones are threatened, they can turn defensive and show signs of belligerence. English bulldogs are calm and gentle with their owners but are chary of other dogs and strangers. Therefore, it is imperative to socialize your bulldog properly and make them feel safe around other dogs and people. There are chances that if your English bulldog is inadequately socialized, he will react fiercely to what he sees to be a threat to your safety or their own. Your puppy bites because he does not know how to play with humans and needs to be trained to stop biting. You can hire a dog trainer to do that or can do it by yourself. You should train your dog that it is unacceptable to bite and encourage them to play games with toys. Learn more in our article Help! Bulldog Teething and Biting When your English bulldog puppy is 3 to 6 months old, there are chances that your puppy may be teething. At this time your puppy will put virtually everything in his mouth. They do this because they need something to chew on, to alleviate the pain and discomfort. You can give him ice cubes to numb his gums and mitigate the pain. When your puppy is teething, you can also give him things he can chew on. You can give him old washed rags kept in the freezer, hard rubber balls, or nylon bones. When your puppy bites you hard just yell as loudly as you can and pretend to be hurt. This will startle your puppy and ensure that he releases pressure. You must continue this until your puppy starts refraining from nipping and biting. This way your puppy will learn that biting can be a hazard to their friends and humans. They will learn that skin is sensitive and should be only pressed down lightly. Eventually your puppy will become gentler to you during their playtime. When your puppy bites you stop playing with him. Avoid petting, talking and even looking at your puppy. Never show aggression or give physical punishment to the puppy while training him. He will become defensive and grow up to be more aggressive. Remember to praise your puppy for good behavior. Socialize your English bulldog puppy to be more comfortable around strangers also. Socializing will help stop your puppy biting your feet and the feet of visitors. You can walk your puppy to dog parks and public places. You can also visit your family and friends with your English bulldog puppy to help him develop trust with them. English bulldog puppies easily get excited with movements. So, if your puppy sees you moving your feet or any sudden movement, he will swoop into attack. Stop right there and this will make your puppy settle down. When puppies see children running around, they also want to run and play with everybody else and could bite their feet. Use dog commands like Sit, Stay, and Down. Always keep treats in handy while training your puppy to motivate him. If this does not work, then simply walk away. To discipline your adult bulldog, you must leave him alone. Still, if your dog persists to bite, you can seek professional help to curb his habit of biting and nipping. Lastly, do not try to put your adult English bulldog into situations he is not very comfortable in or those which will provoke him. If you know your dog does not like other dogs, keep him away from those dogs. You can also use a spray bottle to spray something with a bitter taste into their mouth when your bulldog bites. I have seen people use lemon juice. Be aware that excessive lemon juice will cause an upset stomach and possibly diarrhea for dogs, so find something else with a bitter taste that is safe for dogs to teach them a negative consequence for biting. The bite force of the English bulldog is pounds per square inch psi. Psi shows us how much pressure is exerted on one square inch of space. This is enough to cut muscles and break bones. English bulldogs have extremely strong jaws and muscular and sturdy bodies. English bulldogs also have a very low center of gravity and can easily take you down. They were bred specially to fight the bulls. Their powerful jaws can cause a lot of damage. With appropriate training and by acting properly around your puppy, you can help him grow out of his habit of biting. Training your adult English bulldog will take some time. Training an adult English bulldog will be relatively difficult, but it is not impossible. So, be patient and try to build up this new behavior with trust and love. Persistence and hard work will go a long way. You will surely see results and all your efforts will yield a very obedient and loving companion for life. Pup pup hooray! Post Views: 2, But bulldogs are still dogs and they have the innate tendency to bite. However, if left unchecked, this seemingly cute behavior can turn into a problem when they get older as he could hurt you or the people around you when they bite. Furparents need to address their biting behavior early on so that they can grow into well-behaved adult dogs. When he accidentally bites you, you have to react accordingly. The way you respond will be crucial as it will tell your puppy if that is an acceptable or unacceptable behavior. Exaggerate if you need to. Your bulldog would stop biting you because he would be startled with your reaction. As they say, Bulldogs are lovers not fighters. Ignore him after he bites you. Wanting nothing more than to please you and get your attention, he would learn that what he did was unacceptable and he would try not to do it again. Be consistent with your response each time he does this but stay calm when training him to stop biting. The key to getting your bulldog puppy to stop biting is through ignoring him. By giving him the cold treatment when he bites you, you are promoting bite inhibition. Your pup may be feeling uncomfortable and might be in pain because of his condition. You can give him ice cubes as these will help numb his gums from the pain. Another way to teach your pup not to bite is by praising him when he stops biting. Remember, bulldogs aim to please you and will bask in your praises and affection so these are good motivators for your desired behavior. You can use the ignore method or praise method. You can also provide him with toys he can chew on to divert his biting behavior. We earn a commission if you click this link and make a purchase at no additional cost to you. Pretend To Be Injured Whenever your English bulldog puppy biting and growling at you, pretend to be injured by his bites. When the puppy bites, you yell loudly and pretend like you are hurt a lot. This will shock your puppy, and he will release the hurt immediately. You can continue doing this until he retrains himself from biting you or growling at you. By repeatedly exercising, your puppy will learn that it is hazardous to bite their friends and humans. As time passes, your puppy will learn to become gentle during playtime and get to know that skin is a sensitive part and must not be pressed. Avoid Your Puppy If your puppy bites you while you are playing with him, stop playing at that very moment. When you stop playing immediately, he will realize that he has done something bad. We were playing on the couch, and he bit me. After repeating this every time he bit me, he finally understood that biting is bad. What will happen is he will suddenly become defensive and will become aggressive in the future. These small things are very important and must be kept in mind while training your puppy. Never forget to praise him for his good behavior. Socialize Your Puppy Socialization is very important for the English bulldog puppy to get comfortable with everyone. Your puppy should feel comfortable around friends and strangers. Socialization helps your English bulldog puppy biting and growling not to bite visitors. These etiquettes are necessary, especially when you take your puppy to parks and public places. Save Yourself from Puppy Attacks Puppies are very curious about everything happening around them. They get excited when they see some movements happening around them. You may have noticed your puppy walking moving around your feet whenever you walk around them. If they see any sudden movements, they will immediately attack. When this happens, stop right there and let your puppy settle down. When the puppies watch the children running around, they get very excited and start running and playing. There are chances that your puppy may bite the kids or anyone they are playing with. To avoid this, whenever you see your puppy come running towards you, give him his chewy toy to play with. Never forget to motivate your puppy by giving him his favorite treats. Always keep the treats in your hand while training. When I was training my puppy, I used to have these soft puppy treats all the time. These were his favorite treats, and due to them, he used to perform all the tasks that I gave. Everyone must follow one more important thing , all these exercises, and recommendations in the house. The puppy needs to be comfortable with everyone in the family. So everyone must spend some time with the puppy to become familiar with him. There will be times when the puppy will have to spend the whole day with other family members, and then it will be easier for both dog and the family member. These tips and recommendations are really helpful if you follow them thoroughly. Training your puppy at the correct time is the key to stopping him from doing bad behavior.
