If there is someone that is still mistreating it then it would be likely that it would get anxious when they are around. If it is nervous because it was mistreated as a puppy then it is likely that it will become less nervous as it becomes more comfortable around you. However, it would still help to train it to be less nervous using the tips mentioned below. Separation anxiety A common reason why German Shepherds will get nervous is that they have some separation anxiety. This is where they get nervous because they do not want to be left alone. This would be more likely to be the reason why your German Shepherd gets nervous if it only seems to get nervous when you are about to leave and if you tend to leave it alone for a long time. In this case, it knows that you will be gone for a long time which is why it gets nervous. A new home Something that can cause a German Shepherd to become nervous is if it has recently moved homes. This would be more likely if you recently relocated or if you recently adopted your German Shepherd. In this case, it would help to show your German Shepherd around as much as possible. It is also likely that it will begin to become less nervous as it gets used to its surroundings. It is still young It is common for German Shepherds to go through a more nervous phase when they are puppies. If your German Shepherd is still a puppy then it is likely that it will improve over time. However, now would be a good time to teach it not to be nervous. A good way to do so would be to use positive reinforcement training where you reward it when it shows signs of not being nervous or it does things where it is not nervous and it normally would be. You need to change the dogs association with the stimulus and change its reaction from fearful to calm and confident. The way to do it is exposing your dog to the situation he is afraid of — slowly and in small doses at a time — and rewarding it if it remains calm. If it is not apparent, pinpoint the situations causing your dog to be afraid and find out what is the common link. One of the worst possible strategies is forcing your dog to face his fears by bringing him to a fearful context and waiting for him to stop being afraid. In this situation, your dog becomes flooded with the fearful stimuli. The outcome is that his fear increases and the bond of trust between you and your dog can become severed. No wonder this a favorite dog for city life from Europe to the US and beyond. The Frenchie dog breed comes in a variety of unusual colors. This article will look at rare colors found in French Bulldogs like merle, lilac, blue and more. Those colors come in pied only if the mother and father are both pied in theory. Rare colors in French Bulldog puppies can be exceptionally expensive and there is some debate about how healthy a rare colored Frenchie can be. Frenchies are one of the few breeds that come in a bewildering variety of colors. Most Frenchies are Brindle. This is a dark colored coat mixed with lighter color strands of hair and the most frequently found color in the Frenchie. Either way French Bulldogs can't regulate their body temperature well. Having any Frenchie in cold climate is not ideal due to their short coat. If you live in a cold climate there are ways you can keep your Frenchie warm. Lilac merle French Bulldog Lilac merle French Bulldogs are often mistaken for blue merle Frenchies, but they are much more unique and harder to come by.
