I love their humor, grace, and intelligence. They are so much fun to live with! Because I love this breed so much, I began showing and breeding poodles in .I have enjoyed success with my standard breeding program and my miniature breeding program , .I love showing my own poodles, including the grooming, travel and training it entails. I have bred a large number of AKC champions in the 28 years I have been involved. I have always done health testing on my poodles prior to including them in my breeding program. Only those who pass their health tests are allowed to reproduce. I plan my breeding program very carefully, with a specific reason to bring new puppies into the world. I am dedicated to creating beautiful, healthy poodles with good temperaments. My puppies are born and raised in my kitchen and living room. They are sleeping by themselves in crates by 10 weeks. They will come to their new families with multiple groomings, age appropriate vaccinations and wormings. My love and dedication to this breed is an integral part of my life. I love poodles! Life Span Did You Know? The Boxador is a designer mixed dog breed that is a cross between a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. They are sometimes also called a Boxer Lab Mix, although Boxador tends to be a more popular term. Because this is not an established purebred dog, the Boxador is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, but they are still recognized by other official organizations. With mixed breed puppies, you can get any combination of the physical characteristics and character traits of the parent breeds. A Boxador puppy could take completely after their Boxer parent or their Lab parent or could be some combination of both. In general, Boxadors tend to be intelligent, friendly, energetic, and loving. Overall, these dogs tend to make a great addition to a family. Both the Boxer and the Labrador are known for their happy-go-lucky, friendly temperament. They also have a playful spirit and are known for getting along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. In general, the Boxador tends to have a similar temperament. Playtime with small children should be supervised as these dogs will grow into large, energetic dogs and small children can be knocked over by their excitedly wagging tails and energetic play. They tend to be loyal, friendly, and playful and love spending time with their families. Due to the hunting instinct in the parent breeds, a Boxador may have a high prey drive and enjoy chasing things. Boxadors tend to be highly adaptable dogs. They do tend to be a better fit for larger homes with a fenced-in backyard where they can run. However, as long as they receive plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and attention, they can adapt well to apartment living. As with many dog breeds, they are sensitive to extreme heat and can be sensitive to cold. But, overall, this dog breed does well in just about any climate. They love to be around their families and have a high energy level, so they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. Mixed dog breeds can inherit some, all, or none of the potential health issues present in their parent breeds. When it comes to the Boxador, they are a relatively healthy breed. Some of the potential health conditions to be aware of include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, cataracts, and heart conditions. Asking the breeder about the genetic history of the parent breeds and to see any relevant health clearances can help allay potential concerns about health you may have. Both the Boxer and the Lab are highly intelligent dog breeds that are eager to please their owners, which makes them both highly trainable. You can expect your Boxador to be highly trainable as well. These dogs respond well to positive training techniques and are a good fit for owners of any experience level. Although it tends not to be necessary with this breed, enrolling in puppy training and obedience classes is an added bonus and can offer some extra opportunities for socialization. Boxadors usually have a short and dense coat. They will shed moderately year-round and more heavily twice a year as the seasons change. Generally, brushing their coat a few times a week is sufficient. This will help keep your dog more comfortable and will keep some of the loose fur contained to the brush instead of all of around your house. In terms of bathing, these dogs only require the occasional bath or more often as needed if they have gotten dirty or have been swimming. Dental care for dogs is especially important. Both of the parent breeds of this designer dog breed are high-energy, so you should expect your Boxador to have a high energy level as well. In addition to regular daily walks and playtime, your Boxador may enjoy running with you, going for a swim, going hiking with you, and taking trips to the dog park. They also are a good fit for several canine sports like dock diving, agility, and more. Their joints are still developing before this age and can be damaged by strenuous exercise. A fully-grown Boxador will usually stand 20 to 25 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 55 to 80 pounds. A Boxador generally lives 10 to 14 years. Boxador Puppies for Sale. However be sure to keep in mind that the are also very high maintenance in the sense that they love constant attention and love from their owners. I have adopted one and she had the characteristics of the best of both Labrador and boxer. She was great with kids and great with animals including cats and other dogs. She was very protective of her family members. And we had to really work to getting her used to playing with the dogs not being threatened by them. Ours was a female named Rylee. She lived 15 years 1 month. She helped me raise my kids and our grandkids. We loved her so much. She was so chill. She was very loveable, friendly, loved to lay on my lap. Got along with other dogs. Loving, gentle, low maintenance, loyal and fun. At times he acted like he was as dumb as a rock, but in retrospect I think he just enjoyed joking with us. Our guy is 26" tall and 83 pounds so he is definitely a little bigger, but has a very athletic build. His personality is playful and loyal. He is very good motivated and dog motivated. He wants nothing more than to wrestle and play. He prefers play that engages him, wrestling and tug more fetch. He is very trainable and does not destroy furniture. You will need to be prepared to exercise them times a day. Walking him three times a day would not be sufficient, he needs engagement from his person or other dogs. I doubt we will ever own another breed. I will say I have never come across a dog that was as loving as my baby cigar. He was playful, he thought he was the tiniest but really was always the biggest dog in the room, and he was adventurous. Great dog!! She was easy to train, loves kids, gentle, loves other dogs. I lost my brindle boxer March 27, .I miss him and so does my wife. He was lbs and the most loving and protective creature I have ever known. We want to raise another and eventually start breeding them. His mother was Newfoundland lab and father was a striking 80 lb boxer. Pink of course ; loyal and well mannered! She is with her birth mom till May 8th and then Daisy will have a little girl of her own to watch over. My parents had to give him away it broke my heart. Probably a intelligent, and loving pet with a protective and family connection, always going and living in home and liking to travel with there family and friends with. Obedient and lovable. He has some street smarts too. Loves our two cats and gently as can be with our young grandchildren. Our Ginger passed away in June. We are considering a puppy in the near future. If there was a breed designed to be hugged and petted, this is it. I described Violet as a cross between your favorite pillow and blanket. Just be careful with their knees - she had several torn ligaments. Eis We have a rescue boxador. She is sweet and the most precious part of our home. She is very active and lovable. She prefers humans and craves attention. Is very skittish and nervous with other dogs. Mostly medium and big dogs. A little bit easier going with smaller breeds. Smart and also highly sociable, loves her treats and running outside. Amazing with kids and loyal to her owners and those who love her. Excited Pee and working on it!! Rating: Boxador Breed Review by david I have a 3 year old. I've had my boxador for 8 years now and he is the sweetest and most loving pet I've ever met. Every single family member and friend that has come in contact with him makes comments about how great he is and asks what breed he is. I've even had friends look into getting the same breed because they love him so much. Great with kids, great with people, kids, loyal, smart, sweet and all-around great pet. Rating: Boxador Breed Review by olivia I think it is such a cute breed, and i love how cute they are. She was a loving, playful girl and was a part of the family. Loved to cuddle. She trained quickly. She loved all people, but especially children. She played well with other dogs. Ours was given to usand wehad yt? Now we know for sure, i want another. Bery dsmart, loyal, and protective. Good with kids. High energy. Very strong. Loved to swim and pulled my 4 year old around the pool by his tail. Very good dog. Miss my Jack. Love this dog breed. I was fortunate to have a brindle colored Tan and Dark brown female. She was lightening fast, energetic, smart wonderful with children and audlts. She was by far the best dog I had ever had. I would give them the highest rating possible. I will be looking for another boxador puppy in the future. He is one of the best dogs we've ever had the pleasure of having in our family. He has a wonderful temperament, loves everyone, was easy to train and is the perfect companion. Everyone says they love her mix!!! I love her mix too! She trained easily too! Her different breeds come out sometimes, like on some days she's more of a boxer than a lab. My dog loves children and other dogs!!! She just turned one in January, and still plays like a puppy! I think she is going to stay in her puppy playful phase forever!! She knows sit, stay, paw, and lay,and almost come!!! But,if you don't want a big dog then.I love labs, and boxers even more, So I highly recommend boxadors!!!! Rating: Boxador Breed Review by Lucille We just had to put our beloved boxador down this week after 8 years. He was the most wonderful dog ever! A real gentle giant! He was always wagging his tail, loved to be around people, very gentle with children, and a joy to be around. We will get another boxador in the near future. S they are so cute!!!! He is smart, loyal, friendly, kind with all other animals and people. He can be protective when needed but as long as he considers you a friend he will love you.He is a true gentleman. .He does suffer with a bit of separation anxiety at times. But with a little tlc we can usually get through it.He is not destructive, other than occasional digging when he is having anxiety problems.A wonderful addition to our home.Rating: Boxador Breed Review by Jordyn Achenbach My boyfriend and I recently adopted a boxador and she is truly the most gentle and sweet dog! She is also so easily trained! My 1st "Chet" was the best dog anyone could ask for. When these dogs grow up they are truly incredible. Family oriented, love children and are the next best thing to a loaded gun. I miss all my bozador friends and am now looking for my fourth. I will say that these puppies are a handful. We just lost Buddy after 10 years to cancer. He was smart, loyal, kind and loving. He was more like a person than a dog. He understood what you were saying and was very easy to train. Did not run, stayed around the house unattended. He liked to be entertained and did get bored easy, but I believe that that was because he was so intelligent. He loved to go for walks off leash. It was never an issue. Always stayed close and came when called. The perfect companion. Very high energy and loving. I got her at 10 months from a girl who didn't have the time to take care of her and taking her in was the best decision I've made. I highly recommend this breed to any family. Smartest, sweetest, and most loving dog. Great with adults, great with kids. Would recommend this breed to anyone. Rating: Boxador Breed Review by Jeannie Yates I love the Boxador I have a 5 year old Male who is the light of my life and one of the most loyal, loving, protective, well behaved dogs I have ever owned. The puppy years were tough but that is true no matter the breed. Consistency and patients are key. Recommend anyone who wants a good family dog. He is very loyal and protective, and he loves all animals and people especially children. I am definitely going to buy another boxador in the future; and when I do, I will definitely purchase it from Greenfield Puppies. We got our Buddy from you guys 3 years ago and love him to peices!! If you like high energy dogs that are very loyal and loveng. Train well, wants to play all the time, always happy, great with kids, good with other dogs and cats if puped with them. Loves toys, especially playing frizbee. If u have a pool u cant keep them out it. Needs a large yard to run and run they do. Not a dog suited for lots of alone time, needs company and people to play with. Both parents were on site and purebred. Izzy truly was the love of my life! She was the best dog - the best attitude, the best personality. She was my best friend. I absolutely miss her with all my heart!!! For real.I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right? With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. We are premier breeders of English Cream Goldendoodles also known as white goldendoodles or British type goldendoodles. We specialize in the miniature stature of goldendoodles using championed lines from both English Cream Golden Retrievers and long legged white Toy Poodles. When we researched our breed we discovered some important things. The intelligence of the poodle as well as the low to minimal shedding coat gave families with allergies an opportunity to welcome one of our fur babies into their homes. Lastly, the smaller size of the toy poodle produced a manageable size for all families. We decided to breed this combination to offer beautiful, healthy, mini goldendoodle puppies that give us the best of both worlds! Read our Story Our dogs come from top quality bloodlines. Our puppies are more than an adorable face. Our number one goal is providing you with a puppy that has a sound temperament and the health to back it up. We do everything possible to ensure that your puppy is with you, making a difference, for years to come. When looking through our pedigrees, you will find multiple championships in conformation, field trials, obedience and more. Each dog that is used in our program is extremely vetted. In addition to conformation, our dogs must pass health clearances — including hips, elbows, eyes, heart, and ICH testing — before admission into our program. It is important to understand that our AKC Championed sires are genetic long-legged toy poodles with patella clearances. Long-legs will ensure that your dog is proportionate in size, allowing for proper distribution of weight and healthier joints. They tend to have a wavy to straight coat. They usually have a blockier stature from the English Golden Retriever. Our F1's range from pounds. They tend to have a more wavy to curly coat. Our F1B's range from pounds. We keep our F1B English Goldendoodles until 10 weeks of age. They come from long lines of champions with near perfect conformations. In addition to championship bloodlines, we ensure health by obtaining health clearances on all of our parents unlike many other doodle breeders. The puppies produced are gorgeous in color and have blocky heads, not to mention the innate sweet temperaments, beautiful coats and gentle souls. Furthermore, they are incredibly smart and snuggly. Our puppies are raised with children and exposed to all environments to ensure there is a puppy to fit every lifestyle. Champion Bloodlines All our dogs come from incredible lineage. World-Class Training Our puppies come with ENS and Puppy Socialization, with the option of 2 or 4 week program, to ease the transition into your family life. Core Clearances Hips. Making a Difference.
Allergies Bloat Reputable breeders will screen potential Labradoodle parents to ensure they do not have any of these health issues. Many Labradoodles are considered hypoallergenic. But, this mixed breed is likely to shed less than other breeds. Just bear in mind Labradoodles that inherit the Lab coat could still shed a lot. Grooming Labradoodle coats can grow quite long. This can lead to mats and tangles, especially if your doodle has a wavy coat. Brush your red Labradoodle a few times a week to reduce the chances of skin or coat issues. Labradoodles can be prone to ear infections, so cleaning their ears often is important. Brush their teeth daily using a dog safe toothbrush and toothpaste. Finding a Red Labradoodle Puppy Red is still not the most popular Labradoodle color, but it is on the rise. So, you might struggle to find a puppy straight away. On top of this, red coloring is recessive. Although, you may have to wait on a waiting list for a puppy to come up. Choose a reputable breeder to minimise the risk of inherited health issues in your dog. The best breeders will be able to show you certificates of health proving their puppies have been screened and cleared of any of the health issues we mentioned earlier. If color is the most important thing to you, you should also consider looking for a red Labradoodle in rescue centers. Rescuing an older dog is often cheaper, and will offer a dog a second chance at a loving home. These dogs are devoted mixes who can vary slightly in their overall appearance and temperament. And, they get along well with children and other pets, as long as they are properly socialized. Do you have a red Labradoodle at home? Or are you hoping to welcome one into your family soon? References and Resources. Apricot vs Red Labradoodle The main difference between an Apricot Labradoodle and a Red Labradoodle is the intensity of the red color of their coat. Apricot Labradoodles often have peachy undertones in their coat and sometimes they are so light that they are nearly cream in color. Wavy and curly coats are the most common while straight coats are usually seen in reverse Labradoodle generations where the Labradoodle has been bred back to a Labrador Retriever instead of a Poodle. Their coats feature light, loose waves and give Labradoodles a teddy bear appearance. You usually find Red Labradoodles with wavy coats in first generation litters. Red Labradoodle Curly Coat Curly coats are the next most common coat type. They are much denser and thicker than wavy coats and more closely resemble the coat of a Poodle. Red Labradoodles with curly coats are usually seen in back-cross generations where the Labradoodle has been bred back to a Poodle e. F1b, F1bb and F2b Labradoodles. Curly coats are usually more hypoallergenic than other coat types. They are usually not as hypoallergenic as wavy or curly coat Labradoodles as they usually are from a generation that has a higher percentage of Labrador Retriever genes than Poodle genes. Hardly any straight hair Labradoodles have red hair but it is possible.
Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. Reesie came into the care due to being discarded from a local puppy mill. Reesie is very active, happy, and a loveable puppy. She will bring much love into the household. Reesie is exactly what you would expect from a Goldendoodle puppy, she is adorably goofy, friendly, super playful, and so sweet. Reesie has three modes: asleep, awake but cute and cuddly, and pure playful puppy! Doodles are mixed breed dogs and therefore exhibit a spectrum of behaviours that are present in the breeds of their parents, however there are some behavioural characteristics that are very common that people should make note of. First, Doodles have a tendency to be very social dogs that do much better with their people around and engaged with them more than not. A Doodle that is left alone for long periods of time regularly can develop depression, anxiety, become obsessive about certain activities and these can result in other destructive behaviours. Doodles also have a tendency to be high energy dogs that need an abundance of mental and physical exercise, especially as they are growing into adulthood. These are not couch potato dogs that are content with a few short walks a day. If you have a more laid back lifestyle and are a homebody, a Doodle will NOT likely be a great match for you. They are very intelligent dogs who like to work, so taking them beyond basic training is highly recommended to help them live their best life. They like to push boundaries and challenge you and many Doodle owners have claimed their dogs are always two to three steps ahead of them! I would like to make very clear here that Reesie is NOT hypoallergenic. If you are allergic to dogs and expecting to do this without sneezing you are out of luck! She will not be a suitable dog for allergy sufferers, sorry! Reesie also requires regular brushing as his fur will easily mat up if not kept up. Regular trips to the groomer to keep her nicely trimmed will also be required. There is quite a bit of upkeep with this coat type and it can become a huge mess quickly so the time and energy to keep up this type of coat will have to be taken into consideration as well. This is quite the undertaking and not something everyone wants to take on or has the time or desire to do. If you have the time and will to take on a big commitment, then Reesie just might be the right girl for you. Reesie is a very smart dog and a quick learner, she is doing a fantastic job with house training, sleeping in her crate at night and has the basic commands under her. Though she is very young she has caught on to going to the door when she needs to go potty. She loves knowing she will get a treat after. Her new humans will need to stay on top of her housetraining so she can continue with her progress. She is not very happy with her crate time during the daytime, we work on this daily and are finding that a routine is the way to go with her. Her picking up on training is going very well, she knows the commands, come, sit, down, paw. Consistent work is need on commands, so her new humans will need to dedicate time for this many times throughout the day. She can be left alone for short periods, as she does have separation anxiety. We are working with her on this daily so that when she is ready to leave to go to her forever home she will be better. She does have, and likes her night routine, getting some quite cuddle time before hand. She can sleep 6 hours through the night, as long as she does her duty right before bed. You will need to be patience with her not wanting to be in a crate especially during the day. She just wants to be with her people so much and with her energy level for her to have to hold that in for long is just not fair to her. With the energy Reesie has and the amounts she runs around now as a pup, a large yard would be important. I can see playing fetch will be a big part of her life and she would love to be able to do this in her own yard. As well will be a great helper with any yard work, or just lazing around with a toy or bone. If she does not get outside enough she will be like a toddler in the house and grab anything just to keep busy, will definitely keep you on your toes. If you try to be stern with her she looks at you with those big loving eyes that melt your heart, so you will need to be a strong leader. You will realize very quickly why the proper exercise will be a must. Reesie will require her people to be very active and athletic as she is going to need a good amount of fast paced exercise as she matures into an adult dog. She is not a dog that will be content with simple walks, this is a dog that requires running, hiking, dog sports etc in order to be sated. She needs this daily outlet of physical activity in order to be a happy, well-adjusted dog. Reesie could happily go to a home with children age 8 or older. That being said Reesie would make a fantastic companion for a family with older children as she is lots of fun and has a wonderful playful energy. Reesie is in a home with two foster siblings, that she is smitten with. She would do well in a home that has another playful dog that is male. She is a very confident female pup and will not enjoy sharing her home space with another female dog; there can only be one queen in the palace!! She is still learning her boundaries and is growing fast so a dog that will be a larger dog like her when she is fully grown is best, one that can handle a spunky pup bothering them. Her forever family will need to be confident with a large adult goofball of a dog. Reesie LOVES making her humans happy and loves being praised, will sit in front of you with a hug smile. She has conquered the come, sit, lay down commands. While working on her commands daily, we will also introduce a new command every second day, she is now working on shake and pretty sit. Out of all the puppies we have fostered I have not seen one react so fast and be so proud as Reesie when she is called. Even though she learns fast we want to remind potential adopters that she is very new to the world and so she needs guidance and support. She is a good puppy, but a puppy none the less and puppies are tiring and need constant support while they grow and navigate the world. Having previous puppy experience, or experience with a high energy dog would be a great asset for a potential adopter. Reesie likes going on walks with her foster siblings by her side and alone, but she is not fond of the leash attached to any of them. Periodically she will jump up and try to pull it. Her zig zagging is still going strong. We love taking out our puppy fosters on big adventures, so they are introduced to many things in the environment, like noises and objects. Once Reesie is older she will need a few long walks a day. She is fantastic on fetch, brings it right back to you for her next throw. If she gets the needed amount of exercise physical and mental she will be an outstanding girl. If she plays hard she will crash hard, which will be one of your favourite times with her as she loves to snuggle and cuddle. She will lay right on your lap, belly up and rubs will put her right to sleep. She is loving, goofy, and super sweet. She is clingy and curious and a companion animal through and through. We cannot wait to see Reesie in her forever home so that she can continue to give her whole heart to her people. Any Frenchie is welcome, regardless of whether the dog is healthy or has behavioral problems or medical conditions requiring assistance and attention. Questions about Havanese puppies for sale in Londonderry, NH? We have answers. What class of dog are Havanese puppies for sale near Londonderry? Havaneses are a small, active breed of dog belonging to the Bichon family, which includes other breeds such as Bologneses, Malteses, and Coton de Tulears. This particular breed is known for their bright and cheerful disposition, and they make wonderful companion animals due to their friendly nature and love of attention. Generally speaking, they have a robust body and a unique and elegant head composition, featuring a topknot and a face with a meltingly sweet expression. Will Havanese puppies for sale in Londonderry cause me to have allergies? Though all breeds of dogs can produce allergies in some people, the Havaneses breed is generally considered to be one of the least likely to cause allergic reactions. This is due to the rare combination of a hypoallergenic coat and a non-shedding nature, meaning that the hair and dander do not disperse easily into the air. That said, some people may still be sensitive to this breed, so it's always important to consider if a Havaneses would be the best fit for someone who suffers from allergies. What should I feed Londonderry Havanese puppies for sale? It is important to feed your Havanese high quality, species-appropriate food. Look for foods that are grain-free and rich in proteins from sources such as fish, poultry, or eggs. Avoiding artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives is also a good idea. Your Havanese should receive two meals a day, with the size of each meal depending on your dog's age, size, and activity levels. In addition to a nutritious diet, plenty of clean, fresh drinking water should be available at all times. Make sure any treats are limited and healthy. How do I prepare to adopt Havanese puppies in Londonderry? Preparing for a new Havanese can be an exciting time! To ensure you have everything ready for when your new pup arrives, start by setting up their area. Choose an area that is secure, well-ventilated, and comfortable for them. You should also have food, collars, a leash, and toys ready. Additionally, get familiar with the basics of housebreaking, proper grooming, providing socialization, and obedience training. Consider enrolling in a puppy training course, so you can be prepared to start teaching the basics as soon as you bring your pup home. How big do Havaneses for sale in Londonderry get? Havaneses are a small but sturdy toy breed. On average, they stand inches tall at the shoulder and weigh pounds. The Havaneses' longtime popularity and cheerful disposition have earned them the nickname "the velcro dog" due to their tendency to stick so closely to their owners. In terms of appearance, Havaneses feature a soft, bright and curly coat. However, their size can vary slightly from litter to litter, with some Havaneses being slightly larger or smaller. Can I take my Havanese puppies near Londonderry running? Havanese are strong, agile, and athletic little dogs. As long as you start with short, easy runs, and gradually increase intensity and distance over time, that can be a great exercise for your pup. Keep in mind that if your Havanese is older or has health issues, you'll need to reduce the amount of running and make sure you monitor his or her health and energy levels. When running, make sure to bring water and keep the route you are using safe and enjoyable for your pup. Are Havaneses in Londonderry good family dogs? Havaneses are some of the most loyal and loving breeds one could find as a family pet! They don't require a huge amount of exercise and are content to spend the day in a family setting. Their small stature and friendly disposition make them great for homes with small children. They are extremely gentle and often act as a companion for an elderly family member. Their intelligence makes it easy to teach them basic commands and their pleasant demeanor makes them a joy to be around. Additionally, Havaneses can easily develop strong bonds with the whole family. How many minutes per day do I need to train Londonderry Havaneses for sale? Depending on the age and activity level of your Havaneses, the amount of training that's needed can vary. Generally speaking, a Havaneses should receive at least 15 minutes of exercise each day. If you're looking for more intense activity, like learning new tricks or commands, this can take up to 45 minutes of your day. The exercise routine for your Havaneses can also be increased as they get older.
Some even say that it never stops growing, just like a Poodle. And similarly to human hair, fresh haircuts will keep their coats healthy and maintained. All of this is especially important if you or anyone in your home is allergic to pet dander. As a very important side note: a Doodle being picked up from the groomer sometimes gives us a shock, especially if they were completely shaven down without our consent. Typically, Poodles get a clean face and clean feet and the topknot is rounded with scissors. However, there are many different styles of trims for a Poodle. The listed cuts below are those that first originated for Poodles. By the way, different groomers will have different ideas of how the following types of haircuts should be. Basically, if any of the pictures linked on this page represent what you want your Doodle to look like, be sure to show it to your groomer! This is Part 1 in a 2-part series of posts on types of Doodle haircuts. This post focuses on overall body styles, while Part 2 focuses on the variations of styles for the head, face, ears, legs, feet, and tail using specific grooming terminology. Doodle Puppy Cut The puppy cut is a standard, trimmed style that looks great and cute on many breeds of fluffy dogs, including Doodles. The coat is typically clipped with a longer blade or clipper guard, or scissored to create a fluffy look. Most often, a puppy cut is when a dog is cut to an even length all over the entire body, including the head, ears, and tail. The head, face, ears, and tail can all be cut to a different length than the body if requested. The facial hair is cut in rounded, fringed layers. This style of cut is ideal because it helps to minimize matting , tangles, and allergens. Photo used with permission. Credit: zucca. Credit: miasgroomroom Photo used with permission. Known for their teddy bear-like appearance and loving personalities, Goldendoodles are a popular crossbreed. As a result of their hypoallergenic, non-shedding coats, Poodle mix breeds became very popular in the s. Labradoodles were one of the first Poodle crosses that became popular, developed in by an Australian breeder who needed a dog suitable for blind people suffering from allergies. Since that, many other breeds of Doodles have been developed to follow the success of the Australian Labradoodle, including the Schnoodle , Bernedoodle , and Sheepadoodle. And, of course, the Goldendoodle. The Different Coat Lengths The coat length of this breed will primarily depend on what generation cross your dog is. The most common types of Goldendoodle include F1 and F1B dogs. A F1B Goldendoodle dog resting during the long walk On the other hand, F1B Goldendoodle generation dogs are backcrosses, meaning they have one purebred parent and one crossbreed. This means that they likely contain more Poodle genetics and will have the shorter, non-shedding, curly coat of this breed. What are the Most Popular Goldendoodle Cuts? Goldendoodle haircuts are available in various designs to fit a wide range of personalities, lifestyles, and budgets. Pet owners enjoy experimenting with new hairstyles for their dogs to make them look even more adorable. See which Goldendoodle haircut is right for you and your pet by exploring the choices below. With this hairstyle, your dog will have rounded features, such as rounded ears, rounded cheeks, and even rounded paws. This gives your pet a super cuddly, fluffy appearance. The coat with this haircut is typically 0. You also need to brush your pet daily and take him to the groomer monthly to maintain his adorable look. This is also the type of cut you may attempt yourself. But for others, this haircut is specifically designed to make your dog look like a puppy. For others still, the puppy haircut simply refers to the first cut your dog gets and is more of a trim, bathe, blow-dry, and brush just to get your dog used to the grooming experience. Like a typical Poodle cut, this version features short hair on the face and body with fluffy legs and a fluffy tail. This haircut does require quite a bit of maintenance but is a chic, classic style that looks great on curly dogs. That is why this cut is also known as the Summer Cut. With this haircut, the coat is cut short all over but has a little extra length on top and around the tail. This is perfect for very active dogs and requires little maintenance. The kennel cut is quite popular among Standard Poodles and is also favored by Goldendoodle owners. The lamb cut features a smooth, rounded style free of corners or sharp edges. Dogs of other breeds may also have this style. This haircut is meant to make your dog look like a lion with shaved legs, shoulders, and tail but with a fluffy head, chest and stomach. This is a very high maintenance style that takes a lot of skill to achieve and daily brushing to maintain. As the name suggests, the mohawk cut leaves your pet with a fluffy mohawk that typically runs the entire length of the back, starting from the top of their head. The rest of their coat would be cut short in the kennel cut mentioned above. You can have a lot of fun with the length and thickness of the mohawk part of this cut. And some daring pet owners even decide to die the mohawk some bright colors to make their pet stand out from the crowd. Dino Cut Source: doodledoods. The thick coat of the Golden Poodle mix allows for some unique shaping, and with this style, your groomer would almost shave your dog in the kennel cut while keeping small blocks of hair down their back to look like Stegosaurus. This is not an exceptionally stylish cut but may be necessary for various reasons. These could include sending your dog in for a big operation, getting rid of extreme mats, or helping your dog survive the sweltering summer heat. With this haircut, you have the option to style your pooch when you want or leave it shaggy and natural to show off those gorgeous golden locks. Other Haircut Ideas for Your Golden Retriever-Poodle Mix When looking at your Goldendoodle, you may opt for a haircut that emphasizes one of its particularly adorable features. This haircut includes trimming the hair on the face and ears to the same length all around, giving your dog a very rounded appearance. This style is often paired with the teddy bear cut. To create this style, you would trim the hair around the face shorter, leaving a fluffy part on the head to look like your dog has a top knot. You can even add colorful clips or a hairband to style the look. This will help keep their hair under control and prevent any tangles or mats from forming. Here the top of the legs is trimmed short while the bottom features long flared hair. While this look can look amazing, it is pretty difficult to maintain, particularly if your dog loves swimming or running in the mud. The nails should stay concealed. Pom Poms Harking back to their Poodle heritage, pom poms look very cute on Goldendoodles. Pom poms are best added on the tail or the ankles, with the rest of the leg and the feet clean-shaven. With this look, the length of the hair on the feet should exactly match the length of hair on the leg. The ends of the feed should be rounded while hiding the nails. With this look, the hair is cut short all around the feet, including the ankle and the nails. This is a classic look that is often combined with the puppy or lamb cut. You can then brush it to create a beautiful plume. Trimming your dog short on the rest of his body will help to emphasize his beautiful tail. To achieve this cut, you need to keep the base of the tail trimmed short and the rest of the tail hair long, tapering it to the tip. Frequently Asked Questions Source: suwaneeanimalhospital. The first step would be to uncover the eyes using blunt-tipped scissors. You need to trim the hair around in a triangular shape carefully. Here you can have fun playing with the shape. Finally, you will want to trip the ears, snipping off any extra hair from the bottom of the ears, being extra careful not to cut the ears themselves. To see if the ears match, you can pull both ears gently towards the nose to check their length. Is it okay to shave a Goldendoodle? You may have to shave your Golden Retriever-Poodle mix occasionally, especially if you live somewhere warm or if you have to deal with mats and tangles. When should a Doodle puppy get its first haircut? When your Goldendoodle puppy is about 16 weeks or four months old, this is a good time to take him for his first haircut. That said, you can introduce your puppy to the grooming process before this through bathes and regular brushing. How much does it cost to groom this breed? As Goldendoodles are typically quite large dogs, they usually cost towards the higher end of the scale. Rather than going to the parlor, you can also find a mobile or home-grooming service that comes to you, although these are usually more expensive. Those who neglect their pets will end up with a Goldendoodle with a corded or matted coat, which can be painful as well as uncomfortable. Once matts and cords begin to develop, they can be very hard to remove, and you may need to shave your dog to get rid of them. You may want to initially give him some treats during brushing, so he sees the experience as a positive one. How can I find the best Goldendoodle groomer in my area? Good groomers do not groom too many dogs at a time or use medications to keep the dogs still. Which Goldendoodle Haircut is the Best? Goldendoodle haircuts are a fun way to express the personality of both yourself and your pooch. That said, the common teddy bear cut will also make your Goldendoodle even more adorable. Ultimately the choices are pretty endless! Dog lovers, how do you cut your Goldendoodle? Let us know in the comments below. It is accomplished by cutting "rounded ears, rounded facial features, and a soft, fluffy look with rounded paws and a polished overall finish," Alexander tells Daily Paws. The teddy bear cut can range from 0. An experienced dog groomer may use a fully hand-scissored technique for this cut that would offer longer options anywhere from 3—6 inches. While this cut is precious, Alexander mentions it is "very high maintenance" and requires a lot of skill to execute. Summer Cut Looking for an easy, maintainable 'do for your goldendoodle? The summer cut is a great option to consider! The summer cut—or kennel cut—is a short, clippered hairstyle that is typically between a few millimeters up to about a quarter of an inch in length. Puppy Cut The puppy cut is a haristyle that has various meanings and interpretations. For some, it may mean cutting your dog's hair one length all over. However, these lengths can often differ among professional dog groomers, ranging between 0. And for others, a "puppy cut" may be defined as simply making your dog look like a puppy. For Alexander, the puppy cut refers to a puppy's first time grooming. This is where your young goldendoodle will be introduced to the new sounds and sensations of grooming, preparing them for a full haircut in the future. Lion Cut If your goldendoodle has an apricot or tan colored coat, this cut will surely turn heads! Characterized by a teddy bear style front end, a shaved rear end behind the ribs, and a pom-pom on the tip of the tail, the lion cut gives your sweet goldendoodle the appearance of a fierce lion. Alexander mentions the lion cut is a specialty style that requires medium maintenance and should be completed by an experienced groomer. Lamb Cut No matter if your goldendoodle's fleece is white as snow, the lamb cut is an adorable style for all goldendoodles alike. With a lamb cut, groomers leave the length on the legs longer than the length on the body. This cut can be however long or short you prefer. Alexander says that more maintenance is needed the longer the cut, which means your goldendoodle will need to be groomed more frequently. Goldendoodles have beautiful, diverse coats that require consistent grooming so they can look and feel their best. Very long specialty styles, however, could even require weekly grooming appointments! With the right routines, grooming products , and resources, you can easily maintain your goldendoodle's hair at home! Alexander recommends brushing your curly-coated canine every day to prevent uncomfortable mats and knots. She also suggests feeding a high-quality food brand and using professional pet shampoos and conditioners when bathing your dog to keep the coat hydrated and healthy. When in doubt, choose a simple haircut for your precious goldendoodle to cut back on at-home maintenance. Was this page helpful? Aug 2, Share Are you a proud owner of a Goldendoodle? One of the things that makes a Goldendoodle so magnificent is their unique curly coats. There are many different styles out there that will fit your Goldendoodle and give them a personality all of their own. Goldendoodles have thick, dense coats which can be a total drag in the hot summer months. But their coats are going to be significantly shorter than normal. However, there are some huge advantages to this trim other than heat considerations. Most dogs look good with a puppy cut; however, the fluffy nature of their coats brings out their charm in this do. Like the kennel cut, this hairstyle is of uniform length all over their body. It also helps give your pup a youthful appearance no matter their age. Instead of uniformly trimming their face, the area around their snoot is a bit longer against the backdrop of the rest of their face. This gives them a unique, playful look. The puppy cut does have some added benefits besides just making your pooch cute as a button. The short length helps them to prevent mattes and tangles. However, it leaves enough hair to prevent them from completely freezing out when it gets colder. They are half-Poodle, after all! Poodle cuts can often come without warning as well. Even though you may have a specific hairstyle in mind, your groomer may think otherwise. With a Goldendoodle, mattes can run relatively deep due to their thick curly fur. This keeps your dog happy and mat-free without ruining their experience at the groomers. And with a Poodle cut, your pup will generally receive a clean low-cut face, back, belly, and sides. But the tops of their head, ears, tail, and legs can normally maintain a thicker, fluffy appearance as that where less matting will occur. While many Goldendoodle owners love the Poodle cut, others are less enthused by it. This particular hairstyling tends to make your dog look much older and elegant. Their legs are left a little longer and shaped for a puffier, rounder look. And while the lamb cut comes in at our most radical clip so far, the next style takes things to a whole new level. Lion Cut The lion cut is one of those Goldendoodle haircut styles that can set your dog apart from the rest. Normally given to smaller dogs such as the Pomeranian, the lion cut does exactly what it sounds like—makes your pooch look like a lion! This is done by recreating the shaggy mane of a lion and its signature pom tail. You can also customize the lion cut with specific details. It gives them a bit more body and the illusion of a more muscular stature. This style is achieved by giving your pup a kennel cut but leaving a fluffy mohawk that runs down their back starting from the top knot. You can have it run the width of their topknot; however, a common tactic is to shave the sides down and make it just a tad narrower. Is it going to end near their shoulder blades? Or go down their back a bit? The most fun part about a mohawk cut is the colors that you can choose to dye it! Sure, you can go without, and keep it their natural color. Dino Cut This is easily the most ridiculous Goldendoodle haircut styles on our list. The coat of the Goldendoodle seems almost too perfect for unique stylings such as this. Their dense coats allow for bold cuts and shaping. Just be careful when finding a stylist to do this type of cut. The full shave is exactly what it sounds like. From tip to tail, your Goldendoodle will be completely stripped of their coat. By giving your pup a full shave, you can remove all of those nasty mats and other coat clumps. This allows you to start anew and style as you see fit in the future. This can also be a summer option for those who live in extreme heat or tropical climates. Conclusion: Goldendoodle Haircuts Not all of the Goldendoodle haircut styles found on this list are meant for every dog. However, you know your dog better than anyone else.
