It also can be carried in with shoes. But most of the time, puppies will ingest it by eating stool or breathing in the spores that are left on the ground. Stress on the mother: This could lead to inadequate milk supply for the puppies. Loose bowels and lack of appetite. Single carrier merles will live a healthy productive life just like any other dog. To ensure that we only breed single copy merles we verify testing of all outside studs or dams used with our breeding dogs since some dogs carry a hidden merle gene, called phantom merle. They are just as strong, silly, and full of adventure or snuggles, and capable of being a service dog as any other Australian Labradoodle! The problem comes down to greed or skipping testing. But doing so can come at a risk of causing serious health issues. A "double merle" known as a homozygous merle have significantly higher risk of being born deaf or blind. Red or cream dogs in a merle litter have a higher rate of phantom merle. Every puppy from our merle litters are dna tested for merle before going home. Our girl Tiffany is considered a "classic" merle where Ranger is a "Tweed" merle. We only know this from extensive genetic testing from Paw Prints Genetics other companies such as Embark don't go as detailed with Merle testing. So all Merle related testing is done with Paw Prints. He does not have the gene to make a rose-nosed puppy. They display slightly smaller curls than some pups, but it is still not a tight curly fleece. As adults, they will have a coat similar to Tilly, their mom. This coat is easy to care for, does not mat easily, and is easy to brush out regularly. The first two pups pictured have a different dad, they are out of Riley, and the other four are from Sam. Also, note that Riley's pups have a rose nose, and the others have a black nose. These two display tight fleece. Keep short for easy management, or brush regularly to avoid mattes. The first pup had a slightly curlier coat than the others and was fluffier as an adult. Understanding F1 vs F2 vs F1b vs F2b Is Not Essential At the end of the day, we often tell our puppy parents to not get too hung up on the exact terminology related to the generation of their pup. Knowing what you prefer in regard to personality and coat type is enough information to have a reputable breeder guide you to the right doodle for you. When it comes to goldendoodles, we have come across the most incredibly loving and intelligent dogs of every generation! F2 Goldendoodles are classified as light to non-shedders. They only drop a little bit of hair here and there throughout the year and do not go through heavy seasonal shedding like other breeds. The best way to reduce the amount that your dog sheds is to regularly brush them. Slicker brushes are great for dogs with single coats and deshedding tools are great for dogs with double coats. It is important to realise that there is no such thing as a totally non-shedding dog and that Goldendoodles along with other Poodle mixes are the closest to this definition. Are F2 Goldendoodles Hypoallergenic? F2 Goldendoodles are hypoallergenic as they are a low shedding breed and therefore do not release much allergy inducing dander into their surroundings. That being said, there are other generations of Goldendoodle that are more hypoallergenic than F2 Goldendoodles. For example, F1b Goldendoodles are usually more hypoallergenic as they have a higher percentage of Poodle genes than F2 Goldendoodles. The same goes with F1bb and F2b Goldendoodles. This is because Poodles are hypoallergenic while Golden Retrievers are not. They love spending time around people and other animals alike and are so affectionate and gentle. F2 Goldendoodles are keen to please which makes them pretty easy to train. They are also relatively easy to care for. All in all, the generation of Goldendoodle does not have much affect on temperament. F2 Goldendoodles can have the same or very similar temperaments to F1 Goldendoodles or F1b Goldendoodles. Besides individual genetics, environment and age can have a big impact on temperament. F2 Goldendoodle Lifespan On average, F2 Goldendoodles live for 10 to 14 years however it can be less if they are one of the smaller sizes of the breed e. F2 Goldendoodles may have a slightly shorter lifespan than an F1 Goldendoodles as with each successive generation the health benefits of cross-breeding decreases. That being said, the differences in lifespan between generations is pretty negligible. F2 Goldendoodle via willows. They may have small white patches over their body like on their chest or paws however these as technically Black and White Goldendoodles. F2 Goldendoodles can only be this color if they inherit it from the Poodle as purebred Golden Retrievers are never black. They are therefore more commonly found in back-cross generations such as an F1b, F1bb or F2b Goldendoodle. They feature a solid pure white coat that can be curly or wavy and usually have black noses and dark colored eyes.
