Inspect brushes to get an idea of their bristle length before buying, and keep the width in mind—shaggier Labradoodles need wider bristles, while shorter coats are fine with densely packed bristles. Coat Type Your Doodle is double-coated , meaning they have two types of hair. One is softer and the other is coarser. Because of their coats, it tends to tangle and matt easily. Often, we recommend using a de-matting rake as well as a regular brush. Then, you should go over it with a standard brush with softer bristles to remove loose hair and distribute their natural oils, leading to a shinier, healthier coat overall. Age Puppies have very sensitive skin, so you may want to go with a double-sided brush or a slicker brush with plastic-coated pins. Their coat may change by the time they reach adulthood, so keep an eye on their coat to see if you need to change up your grooming tools. What used to be a minute chore each day became 5 max. Start from the back — Start with the less sensitive areas and work your way forward when brushing your Labradoodle to make them more comfortable and ease them into the process. By the time you reach their face, your dog will hopefully have settled into the process a little bit. Check high friction areas — Though you probably only need to brush your Labradoodle about once a week depending on their coat type , try to check areas like underneath their collars and around their ears every few days for knots that could develop quickly into mats. This will save you extra work in the long run; plus, your dog is certain to prefer multiple painless brushing sessions over a single uncomfortable one when a mat forms. Make it a routine — Pick a day of the week and make a conscious decision to brush your Labradoodle on that day every week. After a little time passes, it will become second nature and will feel like less of a chore for both you and your dog. Additionally, dogs thrive on routine, so making grooming part of yours will help your dog accept the brushing. Brush after outside play — Most Labradoodle coats have a tendency to pick up dirt and foreign objects while they play; if these are left unattended, they can contribute to knots and mats. Things like burs, sticks, and clumps of dirt can all be culprits behind nasty mats. Use more than one brush — Labradoodle coats require special attention, and different types of brushes are appropriate for different parts of their bodies and different stages of the brushing process. For example, a slicker brush is a great first line of defense when brushing out Labradoodle backs and legs, but a comb is a better option for their faces, and a pin brush is a good way to round out your grooming sessions. FAQs Regarding Brushes for Labradoodles If you have never had a Labradoodle before, you may still be feeling a little lost in terms of grooming them. How often should I brush my Labradoodle? As a general rule, you should brush your Labradoodle once a week. If your dog has a very curly or very straight coat, though, it may need to be more often. Curly coats have a tendency to mat and tangle; straight coats are prone to shedding. You can prevent either of these issues by making an effort to brush your Labradoodle a few times a week. What kind of brush is best for Labradoodles? The overall best brush for a Labradoodle is the slicker brush, but there are a few caveats to that generalization. Do Labradoodles shed? This depends on their coat type. Most Labradoodles shed very little, if at all, but those with straight coats will shed more often. If your dog has a wavy or curly coat, shedding should not be much of a concern for you. How do you brush a Labradoodle? Every dog is different, so it is hard to give one size fits all advice about brushing a Labradoodle. If your pup has a straight or curly coat, this routine would need adjusting. Hopefully, these answers take care of your more burning questions regarding brushing your Labradoodle! The one downfall to this breed is maintaining their unusual and often unruly coats. However, brushing your Labradoodle does not have to feel like a chore. Sean Green Pet. Reviews was founded by Sean Green, a devoted pet owner and champion of quality pet products. The small, sharp trappers remove mats, knots, and tangles with ease, and the sharp, curved teeth prevent it from pulling on the fur and scratching the skin. Check the price now! A buyers guide to the best Labradoodle brushes Grooming your Labradoodle should include monthly baths with a gentle, all-natural dog shampoo, haircuts every weeks, and regular brushing. In order to buy the best brush for your Doodle , you must first understand their needs. The Doodle coat Labradoodles have long, thick, soft double coats with fur that ranges from wavy to curly and comes in a wide variety of colors such as brown, black or black and white. As mentioned, this type of fur is prone to tangling, matting, and trapping dirt. Matting is a serious problem that can cause dogs discomfort and pain. It can even lead to and conceal skin infections. Type of brush When shopping for a brush for your Labradoodle, you should consider the type of brush that they need. There are four main types of brushes for dogs; pin brushes, bristle brushes, slicker brushes, and rake brushes, and they are all best-suited to different types of coats. Pin and bristle brushes are best suited to dogs with thinner, shorter coats with less textured fur, while slicker brushes are better for longer, thicker, curled coats, and rake brushes are designed for dogs that shed heavily. There are also other types of brushes for specific needs, like bathtime brushes for wet fur and mat removers for a matted coat. As previously mentioned, slicker brushes are generally the best type of brushes for Labradoodles. They are categorized by their fine pins that can reach through long fur, untangle knots, and remove loose fur and debris. Other factors Other important factors to consider when buying a brush for your Labradoodle include the size, design, and material of the brush. It should work effortlessly and gently, as well as be lightweight and comfortable to hold. It should be appropriately sized for your Doodle, made of high-quality, durable materials for long-term use, and be easy to clean for your convenience. You may also want to consider any individual needs your Doodle has, such as skin sensitivity or brushing anxiety, and any personal preferences about style and sustainability. Should you brush a Labradoodle? You absolutely should brush your Labradoodle. Others may be worried that brushing may mess with those lovely curls — but this is just not true! How often should you brush a Labradoodle? You should also check them a few times a week for mats in the coat. You should start as soon as possible. If you get your dog used to being brushed while he is still a young puppy, your Labradoodle will grow up to tolerate and even enjoy the grooming sessions! How to brush a Labradoodle? Before your brush your Labradoodles fur, ask them to sit or lay down in a comfortable place. Part the hair and brush from the base of the coat in small sections, starting from the head and going all the way down to the tail. Brush their fur following the direction that it grows, paying a lot of attention to the chest, the hindquarters, under the neck, armpits, and behind the ears. Use firm pressure with short strokes as to not pull or rip any fur out, and hold the fur at the base if it feels knotty. Start brushing your Labradoodle as early on in their life as possible to get them comfortable with it, and once you get into a routine with them, keep it up! How to brush a Labradoodle puppy? Labradoodle puppy coats are a little bit different from their adult coats. They start off with much thinner coats that are replaced with the thick, wooly ones we are all familiar with at months of age. During this transition, you should brush your pup at least once a week to remove the loose fur and prevent matting as their new coat grows in. Should you brush a Labradoodle wet or dry? Never brush them when they are wet unless you have a rubber wet brush, as it can cause breakage and damage to the coat. Ask a groomer for help instead! What if my Doodle hates being brushed? Then, brush a small section of the coat that they can see in front of them and reward them for letting you do it. Take it slow, and if they seem comfortable, try brushing another small section, breaking for treats in between each section. If not, keep trying! If they really hate it and are trying to bite you , try using an alternatively designed brush or getting help from a professional groomer. Should I buy my dog a new brush? The bottom line Grooming is one of the most time-consuming aspects of owning a Labradoodle. Slicker brushes are by far the best brushes for Labradoodles, and if you own a Doodle, we invite you to try out one of our product recommendations. Unleash the real potential of your companion! We will email you daily with training tips, ideas and videos. This is an introductory course into our training philosophy. To keep this from happening, you should regularly brush and groom your Doodle. And the sooner you start, the better. Introduce them to brushing as soon as you bring them home. Starting out young will help your Labradoodle get used to brushing. In other words, whatever type of hair your Labradoodle has, brush them regularly. Also, make sure to read our article on dealing with Doodle hair matting. See Also: Click the image Tip: Labradoodle owners who suffer from dog allergies will very much benefit from regular brushing. Its wide base and fine, densely placed bristles help cover bigger areas of hair and work through the knots and tangles. A slicker brush is also great for deshedding. These types of brushes are also very convenient to use thanks to the handle and paddle placement. Bristle brushes are another great Labradoodle grooming tool that many owners swear by. Pin brushes look almost like your own hair brush. The pins are soft and help detangle knots. Pin brushes are great for a quick brushing after play-time outside. Combs are great for smaller knots and tangles that need special attention. Use the wide-tooth end of your comb to detangle bigger knots, and the fine-tooth end for smaller knots. Choosing the right type of brush for your Labradoodle largely depends on the type of coat your Doodle has. Labradoodles can have a wavy coat, curly coat, or anything that fits in between the two. If your Labradoodle sports longer hair, you should use a brush with longer bristles or pins to reach the hair from all lengths. Likewise, shorter hair requires a brush with shorter, more tightly placed bristles. If your Labradoodle is still a puppy, we recommend you use a brush specially designed for puppies. The best brush for Labradoodle puppy would be in an appropriate size and with very soft bristles. Typically this type of hair sheds the most and is considered the least allergy-friendly. Labradoodle with a straight coat. Usually it sheds very little. Doodle with a wavy coat. Doodle with a curly coat. A straight coat indicates that your Doodle has mostly inherited their coat type from the parent Labrador Retriever. Thanks to the wavy, silky and soft texture, Fleece Coats are usually very easy to brush. Bristle brushes work great on both wavy and straight dog hair. Slicker and pin brushes are also suitable for fleece coats. Labradoodle with a Fleece Coat Wool Coats that are inherited from the Poodle parent typically does not shed, but it is prone to knots and matting. Because of this, a wool coat tends to need more brushing than other Labradoodle coat types. Pin brushes, slicker brushes, and combs are amazing for brushing curly hair as they gently help detangle knotted hair. Naturally, choosing the correct tools might not be the easiest task. Here are the three highest rated grooming tools that Doodle owners rave about. Doodle owners say that this slicker brush gets the job done in half the time we can agree that it certainly speeds things up! Find the Best Deal:. Even the toughest of knots will bow down when you have this one at hand! What makes this comb so wonderful is that it has two sides — one with narrow set teeth and another with wider set teeth. Pros Made from sturdy and durable stainless steel. Great for very stubborn knots and tangles. Excellent for grooming more delicate, hard-to-reach areas. Two sides for various grooming purposes. Cons None. The downside of the amazing Australian Labradoodle is that these Doods like other Poodle mixes are prone to matting. So, how do you keep Australian Labradoodle hair from matting? The answer is simple — by frequently brushing out any dirt, debris, loose dog hair, knots, and tangles. Therefore, the most important grooming tool in your grooming kit will be a good quality dog brush. For wavy and straight-coated Doods, both pin and slicker brushes can be a great option. Likewise, make sure that you carefully study how long the pins are on the brush. Otherwise, the pins might not reach through all layers of fur, leaving behind knots and tangles that can quickly lead to mats. And lastly, we cannot stress enough that quality does really matter. Similarly, the pins should be made of materials that glide through the fur with ease. Now, you might be wondering — how often should you brush an Australian Labradoodle? As Doodles are prone to matting, the best way to prevent it is to brush your dog daily. Yes, indeed, daily. Think of it this way: would it be easier for you to deal with very tangled hair every few weeks, spending hours trying to get rid of all the knots hiding inside the fur? Nonetheless, sometimes things happen and you might miss a few days, or even weeks of brushing sessions. No judgment here, it happens! Daily brushing has many other benefits for your pup other than keeping their fur tangle-free. Firstly, routine brushing helps distribute natural skin oils throughout the fur. As you constantly brush out any dust, dirt, and debris, your pup will stay cleaner for longer. Make sure you have your slicker or pin brush, a metal comb, and a dog detangler spray. The last one is optional, but it will certainly help you get the job done faster and easier. Before you start brushing away, you should first run your fingers through the fur. You can also use a dog detangler spray on those areas. Again, you can spray on some dog detangler spray all over to make the process smoother for the both of you. We recommend you start brushing from the paws and move your way up towards the legs, neck, belly, sides, and finally finishing with the back. If your dog has very dense, textured, and mat-prone hair, opt for a slicker brush. In addition to that, you should also invest in a good quality metal or stainless steel comb for more delicate areas, and for detangling more stubborn knots. This includes daily brushing sessions, regular baths, and routine haircuts. The only difference to consider when grooming a puppy is their smaller size. And even though it might seem scary to groom such a tiny little delicate creature, the sooner you start, the more comfortable your pup will be with brushing and other grooming activities in the future. Red Apricot The gene for brown fur is recessive in Poodles, meaning that a puppy must receive a copy from each parent for the color to show. Otherwise, offspring will display the dominant color, which is often black. Some Poodles may end up inheriting a variety of colors thanks to their genetic background. Some poodles come in spotted or merled varieties, while others are patterned or tricolored. The most common poodle colors include black, chocolate, and white, while the three rarest colors include apricot, red, and cream. The rarer the color, the harder it is to find a breeder with available puppies, making chocolate a good choice for dog owners who want a more immediate placement. This is a completely natural process that happens in plenty of show breeds, and it should be no cause for concern. Most Poodles grow lighter in color with time, including chocolate varieties. Even then, they may grow lighter or grayer as they mature. Chocolate poodles often clear from a deep brown to a light, almost white gold. A chocolate Toy Poodle eating from a ceramic bowl Age Just like us, dogs can start to sprout gray hairs with age. Brown coloration may fade to gray or white in mature poodles, especially around the nose, chin, and eyes. Hair may also grow more coarse or wiry with time. Environment While fur changes are most often completely natural in poodles, environmental damage can lead to color shifts in some cases. Excessive exposure to UV radiation is a common cause of lightening in poodle fur. You can also find specialized pet sunscreens to protect skin and fur. Try to steer clear of anything with toxic components, such as mineral oils, parabens, polysorbates, and more. Poodle Coat Types Poodles are world-renowned for their elaborate, fluffy coats. Many people groom Poodle coats into styles such as the continental clip or the cupcake cut. There are three main types of coat styles owners can work with. Are Poodles hyper? They sure love to run and exercise! Curly Coat When most people picture Poodles, the first thing that comes to mind is their magnificent curly coat. Most mature poodle show breeds should have tight, even curls if they have a pure bloodline. Curly coats require regular, careful grooming sessions to prevent tangles and matting. Dogs with hairy ears are more likely to catch dirt and debris in their ear canal, paving the way for blockages and worse. Wavy Coat While show poodles must have tight curls, most standard varieties and poodle mixes have wavy fur. Wavy hair is often softer and more manageable than curly hair, making it a popular choice amongst dog owners looking for a low-maintenance grooming schedule. Hair will form into small ropes around the head, ears, and body. However, keep in mind that a corded coat requires even more maintenance than curls. You must work to keep the hair clean from dirt, debris, and oils by carefully squeezing shampoo into the coat instead of scrubbing it. As one of the most common colors of poodle, chocolate varieties tend to be on the cheaper end of the scale when it comes to price. It prevents knotting and matting that may lead to more serious issues such as sores and infections down the line. How you care for your poodle will depend on its coat type and whether it has curly, wavy, or corded fur. When in doubt, ask your groomer for home care tips between visits. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. We are 5-month-old Standard Poodles weighing about lbs. While I love to play with my foster siblings, I really just want calm space to hang out with my humans and other fur friends. I wake and jump into bed to give my foster parents good morning snuggles! I enjoy a light morning snack and spend the rest of the day napping and hanging out with the humans while they work. After work, all bets are off, and I make sure to get all the puppy zoomies out. My leash training is going well, but I often try to chase the leaves and get distracted by unfamiliar sights and smells. I love to go outside to play, chew on a stick or take a walk. I also enjoy down time with humans to cuddle and get lots of belly rubs. I start my day at am, go potty, then breakfast. After I like going outside to chase squirrels and play. I then have dinner around pm and in my crate by 10pm for bed. I love learning tricks and am very food motivated! I also like to try and outsmart my foster parents when they hide my treats or sticks, I bring inside. I am very curious and love to explore, play, eat, and cuddle. Now that I am older, I can make it through the night without any potty accidents but I need to go outside as soon as I am up, usually around 7am. I eat breakfast then it's right back outside for my next potty break! I like to have a chew bone and play for a while, then naps. I like to sit on the couch next to my foster mom, or lay on my back sprawled out on the floor. I love going for walks and am learning to not pull. I bark a little at other dogs but I am very dog and people friendly. Nights are pretty low key, I may play a little before bed time, where I prefer to sleep next to my foster parent's bed. I love to cuddle if you'll allow me up too! Since I am still a puppy, I need reinforcements with potty training, proper leash walking, and learning what and what not to chew on. I am just a super sweet girl and can't wait to share my love with you! Our Story A house is not a home without a Standard Poodle. As you already know, my name is Wendy. My older sister Holley and I were born in the sand hills of North Carolina and have lived here all our lives. Most of the time when we were children, it was just Cindy my Mom, and the two of us. My mama accepted Christ as a young teenager. Holley and I were blessed to have accepted Christ as our personal Savior at a young age. We also attended and graduated from Christian schools which was another way my mom wanted to assure us of a happy future, with Christ at the center of our lives. Mama saw to it we had every type pet we wanted from parakeets and ferrets to horses. She also made sure we learned the huge responsibility of taking care of them. We learned at a very young age the importance of good cleaning practices, feeding habits and medical care to assure that our pets were all happy and healthy. When Holley was a young teenager and I was about ten we raised and sold rabbits, hamster and mice to local pet stores. We did this to help mama support our horse-showing hobby. The miracle of birth and the sadness of death was a part of our everyday lives. Although things were not perfect in some areas of our lives, this was an amazing, blessed way to grow up. This allowed her to have the biggest desire of her heart, which was to stay at home with Holley and me. This decision allowed her to have a very successful career with an ample income to provide for us. Into the shop one day walked a beautiful pair of black Standard Poodles. It was a mother and her son. Venus, the mother, was a gorgeous, loving, elegant, and petite Standard Poodle. Her son, Keegan, on the other hand, still just a puppy, was a huge combination of fun, personality, intelligence and striking good looks. We were surprised that we fell in love with the Standard Poodle and the Westie, because our favorite breeds had always been the Collie and Sheltie mini collie. Mama groomed Keegan and Venus every few weeks and also trained Keegan. As a result the two were in the shop and in our home on a regular basis. Keegan would come and stay just because we loved him. We grew to love their more confident, protective nature and large size, in comparison to the Shelties. A huge plus in comparing the breed to the Collie, was no shedding or odor. These qualities and the intelligence and loyalty of Keegan and Venus, convinced us this was a breed worth sharing with everyone. This was not always easy for my mom, as a single parent, or for us, as two young girls. But we had lots of support and help from our family, friends, and great employees. We drew most of our strength and wisdom from our Lord and Savior. He was a tall, slender, gentle giant with green eyes and dark hair and was only 16 and Holley only .He became our right hand man and we depended on him during some difficult and trying times. They would become husband and wife after Holley graduated from high school in .Mom met a wonderful man, David! He soon became her husband and the spiritual leader of our family. What a blessing he was then and continues to be. He loved babies of any type, preferably, human, but also loved the horses and puppies. With his amazing sense of humor rubbing off on all of us, work sometimes felt like play. I started flying lessons and thinking about my future. I started praying that God would let me soon meet my husband to be. While taking flying lessons God answered my prayers. I met the man of my dream…Blake. He had blue eyes and dark hair. He was handsome and soft spoken. Their coats may show some variation in color, especially darker feathering on their ears and tipping on their ruffs. This is not a fault according to AKC breed standards. Brown poodles should have liver-colored noses, eye-rims and lips, with dark toenails and dark amber eyes. Brown poodles have a sophisticated look and an easy temperament. Like all poodles, they are lively and intelligent, perhaps one of the most easily trained of all dogs. Poodles are often preferred for agility and obedience competitions. And when properly socialized, they are among the happiest of breeds. Our puppies are accustomed to being around children, neighbors, other dogs and cats, so they exhibit none of the shyness that other poodles can display. These are happy, good-natured pups, full of fun and frolic. They are truly ready to become a member of your family. How do you know which one is the right puppy for you? Often people say that you should let the puppy choose you, but that can result in a quieter, gentler puppy being overlooked. The most outgoing puppy may have more energy than you will be able to handle once you get him home. Often the best puppy is one in the middle of the temperament range, neither too bold nor too shy. A German Shepherd puppy advertised on Craigslist and bought by a Vancouver couple died of parvovirus a week after they brought it home. When you find the German Shepherd mix dogs for sale in the classifieds, give them some tender loving care. The two of these dogs have long hair and rather frankly call for a lot of grooming. He chooses to play with a different dog above a ball or stick anytime. The two of these dogs are extremely substantial electricity and aim to please. Dogs with floppy ears are somewhat more prone to ear infections only because they are more inclined to trap moisture, soil, and debris. You might want to ask the breeder regarding the other dog breed in the mix to find a clearer idea of what coat types you could count on. Alas, many large breeds like the German Shepherd Husky become hard to handle as soon as they reach adulthood. These dogs look a lot like the standard German Shepherd and have had some grooming done, but they are mixed. A cross between a Poodle and a Doberman is one of these dogs. The owner put their dog on the craigslist ad because they realized they needed a larger dog. Most people with large dogs know that they need special care and nutrition to stay healthy. This crossbreed does get along quite well with children and other pets. They have a loving, protective nature and are great companions. However, this is not a dog to be brought into a family or adopted from a shelter. German Shepherd mixes are not wanted in the traditional sense. First of all, you should know that the breeding of Huskies requires a very particular diet. They should not be fed any commercially prepared food products. Instead, a good, balanced diet consisting of dry kibble, canned food, and raw meat is ideal. The best diet is a raw meaty diet. You should be able to find commercial dog foods at your local pet store, but most breeders insist that their breeding dogs get only raw food. Before you bring your new dog home, you should get an ear cleaning done by a veterinarian. An animal scan will help you know if there are any problems with your pet before you get it home. German Shepherds are prone to ear infections, which can sometimes be prevented by early treatment. Ask your breeder or the vet what early signs to look out for. German Shepherds mix very well with other dogs, so it is important to socialize them before you get them. Visit a local dog park and spend time with other dogs. Make sure you interact properly with all the dogs. Be polite in speech and manner, but firm in your training. German Shepherd dogs need to be trained so that they know how much of a dog they have, and not just what breed they are. A good training program will show your Husky that all dogs are equal and should treat each other with respect. Praise and reward them for good behavior. They have to learn that you are their owner first. Some dogs mix have a difficult time fitting into their new surroundings, and you should do your best to help them adjust. This should take time and patience. When looking at German Shepherd mixes for sale online, make sure that you do your homework. Get your new friend from a reputable breeder, not someone who is selling puppies. Ask for references and check them out. Share this:.

You will have 1 year to use this money towards another puppy of equal value. Airlines are not available in extremely hot or cold weather and you are charged a crate fee to fly them. You may also pick up your puppy at our kennel. We reserve the right to decline selling any of our puppies that we don't feel will fit in with your family. For the safety of our puppies and adults dogs, we will not be allowing anyone to come around the puppies until they are at least 7 weeks of age. This will help us to insure healthy puppies and mothers. There are very good reasons why we are doing this. Even though we have not experienced this at our Kennel, we are taking precautions. We hope that everyone understands our concerns. Parvo Virus: people can bring that virus in on their shoes, clothing and skin. Just about everywhere. This virus can wipe out a litter within hours. Puppies are very vulnerable to these kinds of diseases; their immune systems are developing and are unable to fight off this disease. Coccidia: Another disease that can wipe out a litter of puppies. It also can be carried in with shoes. But most of the time, puppies will ingest it by eating stool or breathing in the spores that are left on the ground. Stress on the mother: This could lead to inadequate milk supply for the puppies. Loose bowels and lack of appetite. We want the mother to care for her babies as long as she can, as she gives them the immunity that they need to fight off diseases, grow and get strong. We will be taking videos and pictures. We will try to post weekly, so that everyone whom is adopting one of our puppies can see them grow. I don't think this will cause an issue since most of your puppies are adopted out of state. poodle cross puppies for sale nz - Exercises Grooming From ancient Germany precisely around the 19th century had the now extinct mastiff breed Bullenbeisser and bulldogs brought in from England. At the time of their arrival, they served as hunting dogs for bears, deer, and other ferocious beasts, it would capture the prey with the help of its awesome teeth and detain it until the hunter arrives. And in the first boxer standard club was launched with a comprehensive document that is still in use today. Shortly after, the breed made its way into other European countries and got into the U. S in the late 19th century with the American Kennel Club taking registration of its first boxer around .During the first world war, boxers played the role of a military dog as a pack-carrier, a guard dog, and an attack dog, later they were taken home by the soldiers and got introduced into the domestic world as a show dog, best companion, and a reliable guard. One with so much life, energetic, curious, attentive, active, smart, sociable and incredible fun with children is the boxer, they are also known to be very patient and highly protective of their family members making them the love and desire of many homes. As active dogs, they need a lot of exercise to keep them mentally fit, apparently having a mind of its own, you will find your boxer entertain itself by digging the ground often, chewing, and licking the mouth to beat boredom. They are also very stubborn in character which makes them a terrible choice for first-timers with dogs, they are generally a bit difficult with adult dogs including dogs of a similar breed but friendly with puppies. They usually do not bark unless there is a genuine reason behind it but they love to growl. If you have occupied home with people around all the time or you want a canine buddy the whole time, then a boxer is just the perfect breed to get. Being a highly active dog, they dread loneliness and they can cope finely in both a house and an apartment as long as you provide it with enough room and spaces for exercises and activities. What you must have is a large yard if you are living in a house for it to dig the ground and run around as it likes. And more so, if you are given to being away from home most of the time, getting a boxer may not be the best for you and the dog, because they usually get aggressive when left alone. Boxers are known as loud snorers and they drool greatly too. Boxers are playful and very energetic dogs as such regular exercises are part of a good canine relationship, especially a breed of this sort. Your boxer should be allowed to play in a fenced area and on-leashed since it is likely to jump and leap around in excitement. This puts a boxer as a bad choice for a frail owner as they may find it a tad impossible and daunting keeping up with its excessive activity demands. Being a breed with a short and thin coat its grooming demands are quite easy and little, all it needs is a light brushing of the hair twice every week to maintain its good and gleeful looks. Bathing should be a once in a while since boxers are generally clean dogs and its nails, be trimmed once every month or as often as they grow worn on surfaces, its teeth should also be brushed daily to avoid tartar formation and other dental crises. Our Boxer puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers. We only purchase puppies from the very best sources, and we stand behind every puppy we sell. Frequently Asked Questions Are Boxers good family pets? The Treeing Walker was not recognized as its own breed until .This direct lineage brings us this efficient hunter. This coonhound has retained the looks of its ancestors, the English Foxhound. An underlying sense of game coupled with untiring speed and manly drive makes this coonhound unstoppable. The coonhound lineage doesn't really stop at the Walker, for American hunters also employ other varieties as well. One such coonhound is known as the Running Walker. The Treeing Walker Coonhound is an efficient and reliable hunter of raccoons, squirrels, and possums. The Treeing Walker "trees" its prey, and can then sometimes virtually climb the tree to get at it. With a little training, however, it will merely bay its distinctive howl, telling the hunter that the prey has been cornered. The Treeing Coonhound is good with children and gets along with other dogs. Training is accomplished with little trouble, as these dogs are able to learn from example. They are primarily working and hunting dogs but will also make a great companion dog. Working, to the Treeing Walker Coonhound, is not work but a sport and diversion. They thrive on consistent and ample attention. High-strung but loving and eager to please, the Treeing Walker is intelligent, skilled and confident. Some say they are the best breed for coonhound field trials because of their speed, ability to locate quickly and good treeing ability.
