We are located in New Durham, New Hampshire. We have been in business for 11 years. Because of our love for American Bulldogs, we want to breed great companions and provide them a forever home. However, most are a hybrid mix between the two bloodlines. We do this in order to bring out the best in both. We also enjoy the many different shapes, sizes and colors this breed comes in. We have established a fourth generation Morrison's American Bulldog bloodline, with no future plans to retire. I was impressed enough to spend more money then I care to admit on buying "pick of litter" brood stock from Joe Painter and later from Joe and Margentina when the started their partnership. I really wasn't satisfied with most of the dogs I bought from Painter. The dogs mostly looked good cosmetically and had brave bulldog hearts but had a variety of physical disorders. Joe Painter honored his guarantee but the replacements I got were as bad as what they replaced. The fellow from Massachusetts knew of the difficulties of suing out of state for a few thousand dollars and refused to honor his guarantee. At that point I wouldn't have given a plug nickel for another American Bulldog. One day a fellow named J'im Dewberry from Virginia, whom I had sold a couple of Pit Bulls, called and asked me if I wanted a free American Bulldog with the agreement that he would get a dog back sometime. He described the dog as a little demon that would bite me. I took this as a challenge and agreed to take the little monster. Jim had warned me that this pup would come out of the crate and attack anything he saw and to be careful. I had never seen the puppy that would not learn respect real quick with the proper discipline, and was ready to take any appropriate action. The first pleasant surprise was that little baby Fang came in a free crate with no shipping bill. The second was that little Fang bounded out of the crate and wanted to play. Just a normal rowdy pup. He would play as hard as you wanted and I could not figure out why Dewberry thought this was a viscous pup. He would retrieve a ball and would play tug of-war as long as you wanted. And he looked and acted like I wanted my other bulldog pups to look and act like. I and many others got sucked in and bought dogs from Joe Painter that we hoped would mature into a dog like Sgt. And now I had one. I felt I was due for a break and a good bulldog. As a growing pup. Fang was a lot of fun. He was definitely not a dull dog. If he got bored playing by himself, he would bring his tennis ball and drop it or throw it in your lap. If you didn't grab it quick, he would grab it back with part of you if you weren't careful. From the day we got him at I 2 weeks old he never soiled the house and never destroyed anything of importance. The only dog I've ever had to be that good. He always came when he was called and liked to keep you in his sight. At around six months old, Fang's innate qualities of protectiveness started to blossom. My friend John Tatman, who lives near Dayton, Ohio agreed to evaluate and help train Fang if he had what it takes. John also is the author of Dear John, the training and problem solving column we run in American Bulldog Review when there are questions for it. John has spoke at many Schutzhund seminars and is respected by fellow trainers and judges. I was lucky to have a friend that qualified that was willing to help train Fang. Fang possessed well developed and balanced defense and prey drives and took to the protection phase of Schutzhund like a duck to water. Fang was never trained enough to get any titles, but his protective qualities did get some fine tuning that helped to make a hard, brave dog that knew no fear and would lay his life down for you. Even at a young age Fang instinctively "took over" when I was out of town. He stuck to Sheila like glue and let any visitor know that he was in charge. Anyway, he really was the inspiration for all of Sheila and my contribution to the American Bulldog breed. It would be best to have a customized food and water bowls intended for your pet. Always have it available at a scheduled time. It will also train your pup to eat in a planned manner. Provide toys for your pet to chew. All puppies and dogs like to chew, so be sure to have a toy ready for your pup to chew. It will also prevent your pup from chewing on appliances and furniture. Provide a suitable collar and leash for it. It would save you the effort to purchase or look for one when you want to walk your pup. Try to ask your vet for grooming products you can use for your bulldog puppy. Keep in contact with your veterinarian. Puppies are always playful, so be sure to avoid having access to items that can be dangerous for them. Keep furniture with sharp edges away from your puppy, and remove items that are prone to falling. Always have your yard and fence secured to prevent your pup from running away. Look for small openings and cover it. It will help you prevent your puppy from going out and disappearing. Is not someone who has a puppy mill. There are going to be many exciting events for you to look forward to. Whether you are bringing your 8 week German Shepherd puppy home or about to be blessed with a litter of puppies. This is going to be an exciting, demanding but hugely rewarding journey. Newborn puppies are born at around days after fertilization. Newborn puppies are born with their ears and eyes tightly sealed. The reason eyelids are sealed shut is to form a protective barrier for the fragile developing eye. This helps to protect them from any foreign object, bright lights, bacteria or any other microorganism that can cause disease or damage. In the same way puppies ear canals are closed at birth to make them effectively deaf. This is a protective barrier to protect the fragile underdeveloped machinery needed to hear. In a mature ear the pressure caused by sound will mechanically move structures in the ear. German Shepherd puppies are highly dependent upon their noses. Puppies navigate by smell from the moment they are born. This helps them to identify their mom, the very important milk supply, siblings and surroundings. Newborn puppies are born with a fur coat however they cannot control their own body temperature yet. To keep them warm they are dependant on their mothers or another heat source. Other than the above puppies are completely dependent upon the care of their dedicated mom. Newborn puppies have little control over the rear end of their bodies. As they start to interact and play with their siblings their personalities will really start to show. You may also notice them starting to playfully growl at each other. At 3 weeks old it will become easier to start identifying different members of the pack. Breeders and moms will be kept on their toes and paws over the next few weeks. As the pups start getting more confident on their feet they will be running around and playing enthusiastically. At 4 weeks old they will begin to wag their adorable little tails. From this week onwards human interaction is very important in order to form relationships with people. Including different noises and smells. This exposure will ensure your German Shepherd puppy turns into a confident, friendly individual. Mom will also be doing an important job of teaching her puppies to not bite too hard. By 5 weeks old German Shepherd puppies will be eating a lot of solid foods, several times throughout the day. When mom does feed her puppies, she will only do so for a short period whilst standing up. They will be eating between five and six small meals a day. Although the pups no longer rely on mom for milk, they still need her help and guidance for the next few weeks. Mom will be teaching her babies important life skills to live alongside humans. In some countries 6 week old puppies are taken away from their mothers and moved into their new home. We would not recommend this as the puppies will miss out on continued bite inhibition training from their siblings and mother. This can result in a puppy who bites too hard which can be challenging to manage as they get older. In the USA your puppy will be due their first combined 5-in-1 vaccine at 6 weeks old. This vaccine helps to immunizes your puppy against hepatitis, parvo, distemper, parainfluenza and coronavirus. Most puppies will also need to be wormed again at 6 weeks old. Their last week together will consist of plenty of socialization and playing. Most breeders will arrange a 7 week health check up with the vet to make sure your bundle of fluff is fit and healthy to go to their new home.
