Thor - Bristol Thor is a 6 year neutered male who was taken to the vets to be put to sleep because he was no longer required for stud duty! The vet contacted us for our help and neutered him for us. Anubus - Devon Anubus is a 4 year entire male. He does not live with children but is happy to play with ones he meets. He is good with other dogs and currently lives with his brother, but not cats. He does not like to be left alone for long but is happy with another dog for companionship. He was bought from an on-line ad at the beginning of the year and has been living with a family with younger children however we would only rehome him with older children as we do not know his full history. She has lived with another dog who turned on her so her aggression now may be just for protection. She does have the bad habit of removing food from the work surfaces which again will need to be addressed. Despite all her bad points, being so young she can be retrained to become a lovely family pet. Mia - Devon Mia is a 6 year spayed bitch. She is a friendly girl but has spent her life living outside with free run of the land. This means she has not met children or any other dogs apart from the Jack Russell she lives with. No to cats. She will need lead training. Mia loves playing with her ball though. Mia would be much better suited to a rural environment with a large garden or land. Bella - Devon Bella is an 18 month unspayed young lady. Currently living with another older bitch but not socialised enough with dogs outside of the home. She is living with children happily but is nervous of visiting youngsters so would like a home with no children. Bella plays with cats but has had an incident with a sheep and a chicken. This lovely girl just needs an experienced home that can give her the socialisation with people and other dogs that he has missed out on and put her on the right track. Trooper - Devon This handsome young man is 6 year entire Trooper. He lives with children but can be nervous of them so would not rehome with young children. Trooper is fine with other dogs but not cats. On meeting strangers he can be wary but has never shown any aggression. On the lead he will pull at first but is fairly obedient. At present this poor lad is not getting enough exercise or stimulation and has a lot of pent up energy. Being rehomed through no fault of his own. Sheera - Devon Sheera, at 6 years, is a very gentle and affectionate girl with persons of all ages. She is not spayed and at the moment is in foster living with two other GSD crosses. After some initial pecking order disputes, she now plays and lives alongside them very happily. She travels very well in the car and is good on the lead. If she is let off the lead her recall is also good. In fact, she is good in every way except that she has a dislike of other dogs mainly little ones but this has been manageable because she is an obedient girl and not too strong to handle. He is not keen on other dogs. This boy will need an experienced and understanding handler. Trevor - Bristol Trevor is a gorgeous black and tan 4 year old neutered boy. Poor Trevor has been from pillar to post. He was rehomed to his last family after his previous owners split up. He had lived with small children and was OK around livestock as they lived on a farm. Unfortunately the people who took him in, did not trust him off lead or around people so kept him muzzled and on the lead at all times. Trevor fed off their worried behaviour and started showing signs of nervous aggression. All the animals there seemed to be very happy, well cared for, and healthy. I reached out at the end of March asking for info about her new process and she was extremely responsive. I also told her I was looking for a certain head shape and she was super willing and responsive about the sires. I emailed twice and called twice over the span of 2 months with no response. I was not pushy or unkind, In fact I led each communication with grace acknowledging that she must be busy, and still no response. This made me think about why she might be concealing information about her female bulldogs. I began to feel very uncomfortable about this business and putting a deposit down on a breed that is known for genetic health issues without any information on one of the parents. I know Morgan reads these reviews, so perhaps she will provide an explanation about the female bulldogs she breeds on here, as I was not able to receive an answer myself. She is about 42 pounds and looks much smaller than most other bullies. Ming did have a lot of health problems her first year but I was prepared for this since everything I read on bulldogs said this was a high probability. It was life changing for Ming Ming who suffered from pneumonia a few times in her first year. She had to go to the ER a twice and a lot of the vets didn't know how to stop this from happening until I found out about that surgery. Everything went smoothly from purchase to delivery. This is an unethical business that does not represent itself in a straightforward way that plays fast and loose with their dogs' wellbeing. In we were naive and wide-eyed optimists and all too desperate to find a bulldog to join our family. We didn't ask hard questions and we came to regret it. Looking back, there were so many things that should have raised red flags. She told us that she was a breeder, and yet when we arrived she shifted the story to say that she was in the process of setting up as a breeder, and converting her space. On the phone she never made it clear that the puppies she had were from out of state, we came to find out ours was from Missouri, bred by a woman whose name we found had multiple liens against her for bad business practices. If you are wondering why I'm writing this review after so many years it's because I have had mixed feelings. Winston the bulldog is a constant joy, and I regret nothing even though he needed multiple surgeries in the months after we bought him because of a congenital hernia that every vet we saw said demonstrated that the breeder had been irresponsible. Even after thousands of dollars in vet bills, I do not regret choosing Winston, but what I regret and wish I could change is ever having supported this unethical business. She is full of energy, personality, and fun! She is our first English Bulldog but definitely won't be the last as long as Morgan is the breeder. That being said, I wanted to write this review in-depth because this is the first dog I have ever bought from a breeder and I had major apprehension doing so without visiting the facilities and whatnot first, but my experience has been very good start to end and I based on such I would highly recommend Sugarplum Bulldog thanks to the quality of the little guy who's now a part of my family. We got our first four years ago, and our second just last week. Although our newer addition was a little sick when she arrived, Morgan was very responsive and took care of everything. Years ago, when we were looking for our first bulldog, I unknowingly talked to a couple of sellers who turned out to be selling on behalf of what I assume were puppy mills. They were high pressure selling and not very knowledgeable about the puppies except for the basics. Thankfully we found Sugarplum Bulldogs! We even already used the same vet. So when we brought our puppy in for his first vet check-up, they immediately asked if he is a Sugarplum because they know her dogs! When we were ready to get a 2nd one, there was no question we would contact Morgan! I know it is scary to get a pet sight unseen, but I would encourage anyone to talk to Morgan. She knows so much about her dogs and the breed — she is so helpful! And if there are any issues, my experience has been that she is very honest and will make it right. She was very patient with all my questions as this was my first time purchasing a bulldog. She even offered to answer my questions if I didn't purchase a pet from her. Sugar Plum works with a puppy mill in Missouri where the animal welfare laws are not strict. The dogs are then transported to VA to a nice, clean farm. You don't see the dogs that are bread and what is going on behind the scenes. We bought a puppy that had a heart murmur. We brought the puppy back and were given another puppy. She had 4 surgeries to get her to be okay before her first birthday. Our sweet baby passed away two weeks ago at the young age of four. We kept in touch with the lady who adopted her brother. He died a few weeks ago from cancer. Our friends, who we mistakenly referred to Sugar Plum, have two dogs from there. One has had two CCL repairs and the other, also 4-years-old, was just diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Prognosis is not good. Bullies should not require surgery after surgery to make them okay and only live to be 4. Please, don't put yourself through the heartache we are going through. I made the mistake and purchased a puppy and he died 3 weeks after he was delivered to our home. His name was Bodhi and we loved him very much. .My family and I were devastated after loosing our puppy Bodhi. The night Bodhi died he was playing with his toys in the kitchen and during this time he was gasping for air. The doctors sedated him and put him on a ventilator. X ray showed no object blocking his air way. I am not a animal doctor but I believe my puppy was sickly from the day he was delivered to our home, not to mention Morgan owner of Sugerplum had my puppy delivered to us at 7 weeks old which is a direct violation of the breeding laws. I called Morgan the night my puppy died and told her what happen. Morgan did not care and she had no sympathy whatsoever. Way to go Morgan hope your happy. We spent over 7 grand bringing him to different vets trying to keep him alive. When we contacted the breeder she tried to blame us for not taking proper care of the puppy. All of the vets that we brought him to said there was nothing more we could have done as owners to keep him alive.
