The shelter she went to was going to euthanize her, but our rescue took her in and immediately sent her to the vet. Fluid was drained from her swollen abdomen several times during the 30 days that she was on antibiotics prior to the first heartworm treatment. She made it through that and the rest period, then she had her second heartworm treatment. She will be having more fluid drained again soon.
