Gavin is a Golden Retriever Mix with a very mellow personality. He is a calm dog that adapts to a new environment very well. He gets along with children from toddler to teenager and strangers regardless gender and size. Anyone can pet him and he also loves being pet. He is a smart dog and knows to use doggy door within 3 days by learning from other dogs. He is potty trained and never had any incident when living in a new environment. He does not beg for food and always patiently wait for his food. Gavin walks well on leash and did not get super excited or pull the leash while he is on a walk. However, we highly recommend that an adult takes his leash instead of a child. He sometimes gets excited when a pick-up truck passed by and he might pull the leash and bark. She also has a follow up appointment from her entropion surgery that is in 3 months that is a requirement and it is in Annapolis, MD. This sweet girl is the absolute best. She has been through so much and is still sweet as pie. Shortbread has been with us since December and had multiple procedures since then. She has been spayed, went through all heartworm treatments and had entropion surgery in both eyes. She has gained some weight since being here due to multiple crate rests and activity restrictions after her surgeries but we are working on getting her back to her perfect weight. Use a cup or a pitcher to flush water all over your poodle from head to tail. If you massage your poodle's back while rubbing in the shampoo, he may enjoy the bath a bit more. Use a shampoo specifically made for dogs. Continue rinsing with clean water until the water runs clear and no longer appears soapy. It's important to clean inside and under your dog's ears to prevent bacteria, yeast, and parasites from living there. Use a toothbrush to gently remove plaque buildup around the base of your poodle's teeth. Choose a toothpaste made specifically for dogs. Your Shih-Poo might not be the best training candidate, especially with dominant Shin-Tzu traits. However, starting the training early and implementing consistency and positive reinforcement will eventually provide results. Their ideal exercise time is approximately half an hour walking daily, possibly in two separate sessions. Sometimes additional exercises can be added if you want them to lose weight. At least an hour of exercise is what can keep your poodle satisfied. This hour can be filled either with intense walking, a game of fetch, or other rousing games. Lack of physical and mental stimulation in Poodles can result in destructive behavior. Excessive barking, digging, and chewing are signs of boredom and excess energy.
