We are very conscious about improving the Labrador breed and because of that, all of our breeding dogs must pass their health testing before being bred. We test them for several genetic diseases known to affect Labrador Retriever. We also take our Labs for hips and elbows x-rays to make sure they are not dysplastic. We do this to ensure we are doing everything we can to produce the healthiest puppies we can. Our Labs have certified scores. Our litters can contain chocolate, silver, black, charcoal, yellow, and champagne puppies. The yellow and champagne puppies may range in shade from cream to light red. We can not guarantee shade. It tends to affect both eyes and develops slowly. Progressive retinal atrophy: This can occur in later life and can lead to partial or complete blindness. Early symptoms can show as night blindness, dilated pupils and the inability to see clearly in bright light. Unfortunately, this condition is inherited, and it cannot be cured. If diagnosed early, however, there is a chance of saving the dog from going completely blind by using specific antioxidant supplementation. The change can be sudden or gradual, and sometimes the texture of the coat will change completely. The fur grows in dense curls that can be tight, kinky curls, or loose barrel curls. Generally, curly coats have virtually no doggy odor and are usually very low shedding. Wavy Coat English Goldendoodles have wavy coats that are also sometimes referred to as fleece coats. This coat type is typically very low shedding, but it does need plenty of regular grooming to prevent matting. Straight Coat Goldendoodles with straight coats take mostly after the Golden retriever parent. These Doodles are the heaviest shedders, making them unsuitable for life in a home with allergy sufferers. These coat types tend to need a little less brushing than the curly or wavy coated types, and they are slightly less prone to tangling and matting.
