Symptoms of Elbow Dysplasia: Dogs who have elbow dysplasia may show signs of the disease by suffering from mild to moderate pain and lameness in their forelimbs as early as four months old or they may not have any symptoms until later in their life. Even though the disease can manifest at any age, it is commonly diagnosed when dogs are around two years old. Dog owners frequently take the dog to the vet complaining of stiffness in the front legs but both elbow joints are usually affected. How soon a dog will show symptoms is related to how severe the abnormality in the joint is. Dogs eventually develop arthritis inflammation in the joint from years of the parts of the joint rubbing against each other. It would help to make sure that the area it sleeps in at night is comfortable, cool and not too bright so that it can fall asleep easily. Its environment is too hot The reason why it has been doing it could be that hot weather has been making it feel fatigued. This would be more likely if your Golden Retriever has started doing it more since the weather has become hotter. In this case, it would be important to make sure that it has access to a cool room, shade and water when it needs it. There is an issue with its diet An issue with its diet could also be causing the behavior. It could be that it is being fed too much, not enough or the wrong types of foods. This would be especially likely if it started doing it when its diet changed. It would help to talk to your vet about its diet when you see them next. If your Golden Retriever has not been getting a lot of exercise it could be what is causing it to yawn. If your Golden Retriever has not been getting that much it would help to make sure that it does. Things to consider Below are some things to consider when figuring out why your Golden Retriever has been doing it. When it first started doing it If your Golden Retriever did not always yawn as much as it has been, it would help to consider if anything else happened when it first started doing it. If your Golden Retriever started yawning a lot suddenly, it would be more likely that it started due to things such as a sudden change in its diet, its daily routine or the weather became hotter suddenly. In this case, it would help to take it to the vet for a checkup. If your Golden Retriever has been doing it a lot for a long time then it could be that it does it because you yawn a lot, it does it to show frustration or anxiety or that it naturally yawns a lot when it is sleepy. When it does it more It would also help to consider if it does it more at certain times or in certain situations. For example, if it tends to yawn more when you are training it then it could be due to being frustrated. But if it does it more shortly before going to sleep it would be more likely to be due to being tired. What to do about your Golden Retriever yawning a lot Below are some things you can do about your Golden Retriever yawning a lot. Make sure that its diet is right It is important to make sure that your Golden Retriever is getting the right diet. You can do so by talking to your vet about it when you see them next. Make its sleeping environment comfortable It would also help to make sure that the room it sleeps in at night is cool, dark and comfortable for it. Give it access to a cool and shaded area If the weather has become hotter then it would help to make sure that your Golden Retriever has access to cool and shaded areas. Reduce how much you demand from it when it begins to yawn Since yawning can be a sign that of frustration, it would help to be considerate when training it. If it does start yawning when training it then it might be a sign that you should train it in smaller steps. By doing so you will be able to get expert advice tailored towards your particular Golden Retriever. If fur parents failed to remove toxic food and substances around the house, puppies will naturally devour these. Fast breathing is one of the symptoms of food poisoning. Three of the human foods that can result in food poisoning in dogs are chocolate, garlic, and onions. Chocolates also have minimal traces of caffeine. While theobromine and caffeine can be processed by humans, our dogs take a longer time to break down and excrete these two which results in chocolate toxicity. The signs of chocolate poisoning can be seen 22 to 24 hours after intake and some of the symptoms are rapid breathing and increased heart rate. Garlic and Onions toxicity Garlic and onions can cause food poisoning in our dogs because of the compound N-propyl disulfide. This is a compound that damages the red blood cells of dogs and causes hemolysis and anemia.
