They found a heart murmur. They wanted to see him again on Friday. All week my daughter had been setting her alarm at night to get up every 3 hours or so to feed him. When she got up at 5 to feed the puppy, he was barely breathing. Within a few minutes the puppy stopped breathing. She had the puppy for 5 days and he was gone. He was fine. Playful, eating well on Monday, Tues and then we took him to the vet Wednesday morning for his first vet check. In order for guarantee from breeder to be valid, we had the take him to a vet within the first 5 days. He had ear parasites. He was treated for that. The breeder said she gave the first shots. Vets don't like to go by that because they can't trust that they did and whether or not the shots were good. We brought a stool sample. They said they would have the results on Friday because the next day Thursday was Thanksgiving. Everything seemed fine. Wednesday night our puppy started vomiting and stopped eating. The vet said he might be a little sluggish because of the shot he was given. At first we weren't alarmed. On thanksgiving morning he was having white mucousy diarrhea and just wanted to sleep and lay down. Our playful pup was sick. My daughter and I spent Thanksgiving feeding them with syringes. Friday morning when my daughter called me crying about her puppy passing away I went right over. When I left there, I waited until my vet opened and brought my sick puppy back in. The vet said he was very sick and he really needed to go to the animal hospital. His temperature was .Normal is .He was barely moving and was very weak. We went to the animal hospital with him and found out he had parvovirus. The vet said that he was sick long before we picked him up on Sunday. He was there for 3 nights. We had to euthanize him yesterday. Through this whole horrible ordeal, we contacted the breeder several times. She refused to refund us, looked up our personal info and has threatened us. I am devastated that someone could be so cruel. She told us puppy mills weren't illegal and the pups must have gotten parvo because the week before we picked them up she let them play outside. She said that they were the last in their litter and were getting older so she left them out there. What the hell does that mean? Those were her words. Said she spent the money. She used a fake name and stopped answering emails. The vet at the hospital spoke to the state vet because they have to report when there is a parvo incident. They called me and I gave all the info I had. The van had 4 other pups in it with ours so those pups probably have parvo too. I emailed PuppyFind to ask for advice on what I should do. I still have not gotten a response. After reading all the complaints about PuppyFind, I won't bother to even try to get their help. They are just as bad as the puppy mills they protect. I just want to find this woman because I can't even think about what the animals in her care are being subjected to and also to save another person from the emotional and financial devastation that we have gone through. This woman is evil and I hope karma finds her. I hope someone reads this and knows who this woman is! I went to Houston to pick up my dog. I took her to the vet the very next day and she had a parasite. Two weeks later we had to put her down. The breeder told us the other dog left also had parvovirus. I got back on to right my review so everyone would be careful because parvovirus is so contagious. I have sent them vet bills, pictures, and even a letter from my vet. More They finally allowed me to make a post but said it had to be exactly what my vet said and I couldn't include any of my personal Opinions. They told me I wasn't allowed to mention them in my review? Basically they are protecting these backyard breeders and make it almost impossible for anyone to post the TRUTH. I don't remember the breeders name but she was a nice lady from Arkansas. He was delivered to us when he was about 12 weeks through PetEx, a doggie delivery service. He arrived in Miami within a few days. He did have worms when we took him to the vet but he's been healthy ever since. He is now 3 years old and part of the family. The puppy "fudge ripple" was flea infested, had a skin infection, had nutritional deficiencies, eye infection, and a yeast infection in his ears. I personally inspected this puppy when it arrived in MS and was totally appalled at its poor condition. This puppy was advertised as being up-to-date on its shots and had a clean bill of health. The only vet record that was sent came from an online pet supply "Dr. Foster and Smith". Also included in the paperwork was a document that stated that the puppy was dew-clawed in July .But the birth record showed that it was born September .I posted this review on their site and it was deleted within 5mins. Whenever my dog had puppies, I used the site and my puppies found wonderful homes in the mountains of Virgina, on a beautiful lakeside, at the beach and in snowy upstate New York. I can use Facebook to keep up with them or either I get email from the owners and I delight in seeing heartwarming photos of my babies all grown up! More On the other hand, I have encountered scam artists who have sent bogus cashiers checks for large sums of money for me to deposit in my bank, mail them the difference between the cost of the puppy and shipping, and then ship the puppy to a non existing address. Before any transaction or travel, I take the time to Google the person or the address, and I call the bank to verify funds. When there is an on-going email conversation, I make the buyer aware that I intend to take the previously mentioned precautions, and that revelation takes care of those purveyors of ill will. It is not the fault of the website. I recently bought what I believe is a puppy mill puppy. Even a backyard breeder is likely not able to produce so many puppies in such a short time. My pup is an Australian Shepherd and I live in Michigan. After I bought the pup, I went back to Puppyfind and counted the number of pups listed by this breeder. There were ads for 23 pups with four different dates of birth. For the heck of it, I again checked Puppyfind yesterday four months after buying my dog and, lo and behold, the same breeder is advertising another 21 Aussie puppies for sale. More So far, my pup is healthy and happy. She has been vet checked and is physically sound. She has some wild behaviors that speak to a non-socialized puppy. Because I have decades of experience raising dogs and have health insurance on her, I'm hopeful Bailey will turn out fine. Just be very, very careful when buying pups off this site. My recommendation would be that you deal only with local breeders and practice due diligence. There are reputable breeders advertising on Puppyfind. Although this behavior could be down to lack of exercise it could be something else that is causing this. There might be the possibility that your dog is suffering mentally from a problem called separation anxiety or fear, these can both trigger destructive behavior. This might be the case and I would recommend seeing a vet to determine the issues. We take Claude for two walks a day; one in the morning and one in the afternoon for around 25 to 30 minutes each time.
