Partners in our network are real pros when it comes to arranging travel for your puppy to your nearest major airport. How do you vet German Shepherd San Jose breeders? All of the Shepherd companies and breeders in our network are followers of our strict, binding Breeder Pledge, and we never work with unethical breeders or puppy mills. We believe that Uptown is the fastest, easiest and most fun way to meet your perfect puppy. When you buy a dog from a pet store, you can almost be certain that dog is coming from an unethical breeder or puppy mill. Puppy mill dogs are far more likely to get sick, lash out at owners with dangerous behavioral issues, and even die younger than properly raised dogs. Do you have long haired German Shepherd San Jose breeders near me right now? What is the MatchMaker process like for German Shepherd puppies? In our humble opinion, MatchMaker is totally awesome. How can I guarantee Uptown Puppies is an ethical company? Backyard breeders and puppy mills are infamous for neglecting the health and wellbeing of their dogs in order to make more money.

Also called the Bernese Mountain Poo, Bernesepoo, Bernesedoodle, and Bernepoo, the Bernedoodle hybid mixes the happy-go-lucky temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence of its Poodle parents. Mini Bernedoodles are happiest when they're spending time with their families, children included. They are willing participants in playtime and cuddle fests alike. Fans of the breed adore their friendliness, playfulness, intelligence, and affection. They are fairly adaptable and go with the flow. If you need a dog for the whole family, or if you're a single owner looking for a lovable, smart mixed-breed with good health that will put a smile on your face with their antics, you won't be able to find a much better choice than the Miniature Bernedoodle. They do well with children and other animals, and are happiest as part of a family. They love spending time with their human family and should not be left alone for long periods. They can be wary of strangers, but early training can help their socialization. Toy and mini Bernedoodles can be more energetic and stubborn than the standard version, but you will find them relatively easy to train because of that Poodle intelligence. Their skull is moderately round with flat cheekbones and a long, straight muzzle with a scissor bite. Their eyes are dark, oval, and set far enough apart to make their facial expressions appear alert and intelligent. Ears have wide and thick ear leather and hang close to the head, at or just below eye level. Coats can be curly, dense, and highly textured, or corded, hanging in tight even cords of varying lengths. The coat is tricolor with black as the base and markings in rich rust and clear white. The tail will vary in length, but it is bushy and carried high. Exercise Medium Activity Bernedoodles are moderately active and will love daily walks. They enjoy playing fetch and spending time with you. This breed tends to wander and hunt, so a fenced-in yard is important. They can adapt to urban or rural settings provided there is time and space for daily exercise. This breed requires a lot of human interaction, so leaving him alone outside for long periods will not work for the Bernedoodle. We recommend at least an hour of exercise every day. They will do well with time to fetch, run, and learn new tricks. You've come to the right place. The Miniature Poodle is one of the smartest dog breeds. On top of their intelligence, they are also known to have a cheerful disposition and a sensitive nature. They get along great with children. Due to their small size, they can be easily injured by rough play or accidental falls that can happen with younger children. Because of this, they may be better suited to a home with older children. Life Span Did You Know? The German Shepherd is one of the most versatile, well-recognized, and popular dog breeds in the world. The modern German Shepherd is descended from a family of various German herding dogs. Breed standards were not developed until the late 19th century when Captain Max von Stephanitz, a German cavalry officer, worked with Arthur Meyer and other breeders to develop the ideal German herding dog. Stephanitz and Meyer wrote the breed standard in and the American Kennel Club recognized the German Shepherd as a member of the Herding Group in .Although they were originally bred as herding dogs, they were also bred for versatility, which made the German Shepherd an all-around working dog that could excel in a variety of applications. German Shepherds are one of the common dog breeds employed in K-9 units in both police and military applications. They also make great service dogs and, of course, are still awesome herding dogs and farm dogs! The German Shepherd is a strong-willed and highly intelligent dog. They have a playful, energetic spirit and tend to get along with children, other dogs, and other pets, which makes them a great family companion. A born protector, the German Shepherd will provide a great sense of security for their family while their loving and lively personality will make them fit right in as a companion. German Shepherds are naturally protective and can be wary of strangers at first. A well-socialized German Shepherd will bark to alert you and tends to warm up to strangers once introduced. German Shepherds are dogs that were bred to herd and work. This, plus their high energy, makes them a better fit for homes with fenced yards where they can run. They can adapt well to larger apartments as long as plenty of time is dedicated to ensuring they get enough exercise, mental stimulation, and attention every day. A bored, ignored, or under-exercised German Shepherd can often become a destructive one. They also can be sensitive to their surroundings and large gatherings can be off-putting. With a longer coat, they tend to prefer cooler climates and are sensitive to heat. The German Shepherd is a generally healthy breed, but there are some potential health concerns and good breeding practices make a big difference. Potential health concerns to be aware of in a German Shepherd include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia , and degenerative myelopathy. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. So, make sure you are asking about the health and genetic history of both parents. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. As a barrel-chested breed, the German Shepherd is also at risk for bloat. While the German Shepherd is highly intelligent and highly trainable, they are generally not recommended for novice owners. If you are a novice dog owner, enroll in puppy training classes or enlist the help of a professional dog trainer; not just for your dog, but for yourself as well. Training assistance will help you grow in experience and build a strong bond between you and your German Shepherd puppy, which is essential. Also, the GSD has a thirst for training and fulfillment. They get bored easily and especially with repetition, so continued training with your German Shepherd throughout their life will be necessary. German Shepherds have a medium-to-long double coat. They will shed year-round and heavier as seasons change. Brushing a few times a week is usually sufficient; brushing daily is even better and your GSD will likely love you for it. Bathing is occasional on an as-needed basis. Ear checks weekly with careful cleanings as needed can help prevent ear infections. German Shepherds are high-energy working dogs. Not only do they require a lot of daily activity, but they also are a herding breed that was made to run, guard, and observe, so they need a job to do to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough for a GSD, but they will likely be up for more activity if you are. With their versatility and athleticism, you can try a lot of different activities when puppies finish growing and they are cleared for higher-impact things. A fully-grown German Shepherd usually stands inches tall and weighs pounds. German Shepherds generally live for years on average. Daisy-Gold Goldens have champion lineage, but are bred as loving family dogs. She was my initial introduction to the European Golden. It has taken several years to acquire knowledge about the European Golden. At the Guisachan House, the home of Lord Tweedmouth, in the ruggedly beautiful county of Inverness in the north Scottish highlands, it was here the first Yellow Retrievers were bred and raised. Lord Tweedmouth carefully worked out a plan to make a yellow retriever breed. Lord Tweedmouth gave many puppies he bred to friends, others were put out with keepers and bred from, so that the yellow Retrievers in the hands of gundog men, at that time seldom interested in pedigrees but only in how their dogs worked, would have been crossed with black Retrievers or with Setters, without compunction. They must have passed their hip and elbow exams by OFA or OVC if from Canada and must have a heart clearance from a veterinary cardiologist, as well as a yearly eye exam from a veterinary opthamologist, stating they are eligible to receive CERF certification. Your pup deserves better than that, which is why here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we ensure high-quality care is taken of your pet at all times. For more about the true price of a golden retriever puppy, you can read our full price breakdown here. Location Information for Massachusetts Customers Our home office is located in Ohio, but we understand that long-distance travel can be inconvenient. If you prefer to meet a breeder in person, they may be able to offer private visits at their home. Of course! Like adopting a Golden Retriever from a pet store, there is an increased risk when adopting a pup from a rescue center or shelter as well. For example, pups purchased through a shelter or rescue center are far less likely to come with the kinds of health guarantees and reassurances that a breeder can provide. Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. These breeds share a lot of traits, but which dog makes the best pet? A poodle is purebred, whereas a labradoodle is a hybrid mix between a poodle and Labrador retriever. The poodle has a high pedigree and is a high maintenance breed. Labradoodles lack the status of purebred but maintain many qualities of the poodle breed with less maintenance. Both breeds make great family pets. But, there are certainly some traits of both dogs that might sway you one way or the other. The good news is that either dog is great for most any household. The poodle was originally bred in France and is also the official dog of France. Responsible breeders can trace that lineage and will test their pups for health issues that can appear in a stagnant gene pool. This kind of testing is not standard with mixed breeds. Hair Not Fur: Poodles have hair, not fur. Yes, you read that right. Like you or me, they have a single layer of hair, where most other dogs have a separate undercoat layer that really contributes to shedding. Thanks to this single, curly, silky coat, poodles shed very little. This is especially important for those that suffer from dog allergies. High Intelligence: A poodle is the second most intelligent breed, after the Border Collie. They are exceptional in their ability to learn tricks and tasks. Nice And Quiet: While they do sometimes bark, poodles often keep to themselves. This makes them great for apartment living and great on walks. For those that value peace and quiet, they are a top pick. Adaptable To Any Situation: Given their advanced intelligence, they are a flexible breed. They will acclimate well to most environments if they get enough exercise. This makes them a great choice for apartment living, but they are just as happy in the suburbs or on a ranch. An Ancient Hunting Breed: Although most people associate poodles with being fancy, prim, and proper, they were actually bred for hunting. They are natural swimmers and retrievers. Most American hunters turn to the labrador retriever for their waterfowl hunting needs, but the poodle is just as good and possibly better. With high intelligence and a lighter frame, they are great hunting dogs. Though, a toy poodle might not cut it. Size Variability: You can get all of the attributes of the poodle in three distinct sizes. The breed comes in Standard, Miniature, and Toy. They range from just a few pounds up to 80 pounds. This means you can have the second smartest dog small enough to fit in a handbag, or large enough to retrieve a goose. The Downsides of the Poodle They Fetch A High Price: Because of their pedigree, it can be on the pricier end to get a purebred poodle from a respected breeder. Purebred Health: While most responsible breeders should take the time to do screenings for disease, there are unscrupulous breeders out there that will skip these screenings. There is evidence that with extensive inbreeding, dogs can develop a lot of health problems. If a deal on a poodle seems too good to be true, it probably is. High Maintenance: Poodles are a high maintenance dog which means they should receive regular baths, grooming, and very high-quality food. Not only this but they need a lot of stimulation, both physical and mental, in order to stay in tip-top shape. A poodle is not a great choice for those that are looking for a lazy, low maintenance pet. For you, the dog owner. Poodles need daily mental stimulation to stave off boredom. They are prone to anxiety, stress, and other destructive behaviors when they lack mental stimulation. This adds further to their high level of required maintenance. Not A Good Guard Dog: While they make a good watchdog, and can be trained to alert their people of an intruder on the property, they are not a great guardian for home defense. They are far more likely to greet a burglar like a new friend than attack the intruder. They may be super smart, but they are still dogs after all. Labradoodle Positives Loaded With Labrador Traits: Thanks to the two different breeds that make up this hybrid dog, you get the best of both worlds. You get the intelligence and the lovely, low shedding coat of the Poodle as well as the amicable, goofy nature of a labrador retriever. Those that inherit the traits from their lab heritage also tend to be a bit more muscular and sturdy than a poodle. Labradoodles are a healthy hybrid that does seem to benefit from the cross-breeding of the two different types of dogs. Designer Dogs: Labradoodles are all the rage these days. And it is mostly due to their curly or wavy coats. Less Maintenance: Thanks to the addition of labrador genetics, Labradoodles benefit from a lower level of required maintenance than their poodle counterparts. But, that mostly comes down to their temperament and exercise needs. While they still require regular brushing and physical and mental stimulation, they tend to be less needy than their purebred poodle parents. People Pleaser: Labradoodles love their humans. They are great with kids, adults, and animals. Cost: By skipping the AKC requirements of notable poodle breeders, you can save some money. Labradoodle Have Negatives, Too Shedding Is Possible: Notable breeders breed their pups from parents that come from second or third or even fourth generation dogs, so both parents are Labradoodles. This can help to ensure that you get a low shedding dog, but it is not completely accurate. It is still possible that a labradoodle could shed just as much as its labrador parent. Not Truly Hypoallergenic: Because of this manner of cross-breeding, these dogs are not considered to be truly hypoallergenic. While they are less likely to cause allergic reactions, it is still entirely possible that they may in some individuals. No Pedigree: Labradoodles are not a breed, but a crossbreed. Always make sure a breeder of Labradoodles is on the up and up. Need More Space: While they can do fine in an apartment, Labradoodles tend to do better in a house with a yard. Understanding the Differences Between Poodles and Labradoodles Poodles are a top pick for those looking for a loyal, loving family dog with endless smarts. They can make brilliant hunting dogs and their ability to learn is boundless. People without time to dedicate themselves to their maintenance routine might not be a good fit for this breed. Labradoodles have unique personalities, lower costs, and are less maintenance. They are great for people who want a cuddler that is good with kids. They are more likely to shed than a poodle. They are more suited to living in an area with a yard instead of an apartment and though they are lower maintenance overall than a poodle, they still have a lot of needs. In conclusion, they are both very similar dogs. I hope you found it helpful. Here are some products that I personally believe every owner should employ to help ensure the best quality of life for their dogs. Labradoodle drawing A standard Labradoodle is a first generation hybrid dog that is created by breeding a purebred Standard Poodle with a purebred Labrador Retriever. A website called TheDogPeople. Labradoodles make great family pets as they are happy and easy to train. They have different coat types that need lots of brushing but tend not to shed. Labradoodles also have energy to spare and need lots of exercise. Drawing a Labradoodle calls for a plan to make sure you get all that curly hair in place. The curly lines are then traced, and the light ones erased of course. This two step approach may seem like it takes more time, but in the end helps avoid a lot of extra erasing and frustrating. After all, if your light sketch looks like the beginning of a dog, then the added curls are just an added feature of a very cute Labradoodle dog. Lightly sketch the rest of the head. Draw the body and front legs, lightly. Add the back legs, very lightly. Draw over the head with wiggly lines. Add wiggly lines over the body and legs. Draw wiggly lines over back legs. Add tail, more squiggles and horizon. Trace with marker and color.

As soon as Ace began to mope around we called our vet right away. They told us to bring him in right then, which we did and they got right down to business. He weighed his usual 90 pounds and had no hight temperature, but was breathing hard and would not move. Our vet examined him and said he was in a very grave state. His gums and tongue were fading in color so much so that she called the emergency vet and alerted them to our impending arrival. We took him there and they too, were on the ball. They did an ultrasound and it confirmed our vet's suspicions. He passed away before the ultrasound was even complete. These tumors grow very rapidly and 9 times out of 10 they are cancerous. We never had the first clue. Our hearts are broken, and we miss him terribly, but if this at least helps raise awareness, then our Ace's loss was not all in vain.

The teeth meet in a slight undershot bite. The very large, prominent eyes are dark. The small, thin ears are either rose or button shaped. The face has large, deep wrinkles. The high-set tail is curled over the back and a double curl is preferred in the show ring. Dewclaws are usually removed. The short coat is soft, fine and smooth. Coat colors come in apricot, fawn, black and silver. Temperament The Pug is keen, with a happy-go-lucky attitude. Animated, peppy and spirited, it is loyal, loving and affectionate with its family. Playful, lively and rambunctious, it is sure to keep you laughing. Highly intelligent, it bores easily without variety in its training. These dogs can be a bit willful if they sense they are stronger minded than the humans around them. Pugs are sensitive to the tone of your voice, so harsh punishment is unnecessary. They need an owner who is calm, yet firm, confident and consistent with the rules. This dog is neither excitable nor dull. They are good watchdogs, very devoted and are not yappers. Pugs get along well with other dogs and pets, and they behave impeccably with both children and visitors. Be sure to be your Pug's pack leader. Pugs that do not have strong human leaders can become jealous, and begin to display guarding behaviors, such as guarding furniture , food, toys, or other spots in the house. Living Conditions The Pug is good for apartment life. It is relatively inactive indoors and will do okay without a yard. Cannot withstand hot or cold weather and should be kept indoors at a comfortable temperature. Exercise Pugs are strong dogs with short, straight legs. They need to be taken on daily walks. While out on the walk the dog must be made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, as instinct tells a dog the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human. They enjoy energetic games and will keep in better health if given regular exercise. But be careful not to overdo it, especially if you see them start to wheeze. Life Expectancy About 12 to 15 years. dark red goldendoodle puppies - Splitting into a separate breed in , the American Cocker Spaniel was the most popular dog in the US through the s and s. While Cocker Spaniels have fallen in popularity since the mids, French Bulldogs have skyrocketed to the No. In the hybrid or designer dog world, the term Cocker Spaniel takes on a whole new meaning. Cocker Spaniels appear commonly in mixed breeds because of desired spaniel traits like a sweet expression, sporting qualities, loyalty, and friendliness. The French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel is no exception, embodying a docile and kind nature and combining it with a small size, moderate exercise requirements, and compatibility with other animals and family members. French Cocker Spaniels make excellent companion dogs, both affectionate and loyal. What is the history of the French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel mix? Bulldogs descended from Molossian dogs of Greek heritage that also gave rise to the Mastiff. The shorter dogs comprised a branch of dogs that would eventually split into three groups once baiting bulls became illegal. One of these groups was the miniature version of the English Bulldog, popularized among the lace workers of Nottingham, England. Toy Bulldogs had already seen outcrossing with rattiers, and more rat terrier-type dogs were sought when enthusiasts took their miniatures to Normandy France. French breeders refined the French Bulldog , and many believe they introduced the Pug for a flatter face and more prominent eyes. Americans finalized the breed standard, insisting on what has become the signature bat ears. Spaniels are one of the oldest breed-types, used to flush game. Land spaniels would eventually divide further into springers and setters, according to Mycockerspaniel. Springing spaniels produced three size variations of prized gundogs from the large Springer Spaniel to the Cocker Spaniel with the Sussex in between. Cocker Spaniels developed a specialty for hunting Woodcock. American Cocker Spaniels, similarly to German shepherds, were developed mainly as show dogs but had differences specific for hunting American Woodcocks in contrast to the Eurasian Woodcock. What is the possible appearance of a Frenchie Cocker Spaniel mix? French Bulldogs are 12 inches tall and weigh up to 28 pounds. They look like miniature Bulldogs but have erect bat ears and a rounder head. Their bodies are low-slung but compact with dwarfed legs, a greatly shortened and broad muzzle, and a short sometimes screw tail. French Bulldogs have a wide range of colors, both standard and rare. Although breeders may charge high prices for unusual colors, they are often not recognized by the AKC. Standard colors for a French Bulldog include brindle, fawn, white, cream, and fawn. Unusual and highly-sought colors are black and tan, solid black, black and white, blue, and lilac. Cocker Spaniels are 14 or 15 inches tall, according to Americanspanielclub. English Cockers are 14 to 17 inches tall weighing up to 34 pounds. Cocker Spaniel colors are almost too numerous to name. Standard colors include black, brown, black and white, black and tan, buff, red, brown and tan, brown, white, and tan, and brown roan, among others. The AKC sites as nonstandard colors such as cream, blue roan, red roan, sable, and blue roan and tan. The Cocker Spaniel is in stark contrast with the French Bulldog, similar in size but with a refined head and proportionately-built, muscular but slender body. Many Cocker owners dock their dogs' tail to stay true to tradition. Your French Cocker Spaniel will likely be gray or black with tufts of white hair, brown, brindle, black, and tan, or fawn. He may have a bobtail or one that does not quite reach the hocks. Expect more refinement in your mixed dog's head and a longer muzzle than a purebred Frenchie's. He may have large bat ears, but more likely will have medium ears that drop along his face. Your French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel mix will have shortened legs, a powerful neck, and a relatively deep chest for his size. He will likely stand about 13 inches tall and weigh 25 to 30 pounds. This video illustrates that unlike some other hybrid dogs, French Bulldog Cocker Spaniels do not have a particularly distinctive appearance This mix has a refined head that retains the furrows in the brow characteristic of a Frenchie. Note the relatively short legs, brown color with a black mask, square-shaped ears, smooth coat, and rather long tail. Will you have to groom your dog like a Cocker Spaniel? French Bulldogs have a short coat with a minimal undercoat most of the time. Some Frenchies do not have any underfur. Cocker Spaniels have medium to long silky hair with a soft undercoat. A show dog is popular for her luxurious flowing hair. However, people who have pet Cockers often shave them short all over, sometimes leaving long hair on the ears and legs. Your French Cocker Spaniel may inherit a short or long-medium coat. More than likely, your hybrid's coat will be longer than a French Bulldogs with slight waves. You should brush your French Bulldog mix's coat twice or three times a week. Her hair likely will not mat like a Cocker's but may collect dirt. Bathe your dog every six to eight weeks, taking advantage of that time to clip her nails. You should check your dog's ears every week for any signs of infection, especially if they hang. Will your dog have specific health issues? While mixes do not typically struggle with quite as many health problems as their parent breeds, they inherit the more common maladies. French Bulldog Cocker Spaniels most often fight patellar luxation, eye problems, hip dysplasia, autoimmune disorders, seborrhea, breathing abnormalities, and hypothyroidism. French Bulldogs live 10 to 12 years while Cocker Spaniels live 11 to 14 years. Your French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel mix could reasonably live 12 or 13 years. Patellar Luxation Common in the toy and miniature breeds, a luxating patella means the knee cap easily pops out of place rather than glide seamlessly in its groove. It is common in Frenchies who have a malformation of their joint connections due to dwarfism. Cocker Spaniels are often born with the condition. Luxating patellas can be hereditary in your French Bulldog hybrid. Hip Dysplasia Unfortunately, hip dysplasia is common in Frenchies and Cockers, making it a possible hereditary problem of your mixed-breed dog. Eye Problems Your French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel mix could inherit protruding eyes from either parent, leaving these structures vulnerable to scratches and other injuries. As Petcarex reports, Cocker Spaniels are prone to cataracts and glaucoma and can pass these to any offspring. Primary Seborrhea Mostly affecting American Cocker Spaniels, primary seborrhea affects the skin to produce excess scaling and greasiness, leading to longterm inflammation. Hypothyroidism French Bulldogs can inherit congenital hypothyroidism as a recessive trait, but it is rare. Hypothyroidism is more common in Cocker Spaniels. If your mix inherits adult-onset hypothyroidism, she will need thyroid supplementation to avoid skin problems and other health issues. Brachycephalic Syndrome Hopefully, your mixed dog will not inherit the entire complex of respiratory difficulties from his French Bulldog parent. Still, you may notice slight snoring, snuffling, and exercise intolerance if your dog's face has moderate shortening. What is your dog's guarding potential? French Bulldogs are very friendly to everyone but may make good watchdogs if they warn you of the approach of strangers. Many Frenchies, however, are not alarmists, seeking affection indiscriminately. Cocker Spaniels, as opposed to Frenchies, are excellent watchdogs. Some Cockers may bark excessively. A few family lines of Spaniels display a phenomenon known as Cocker Rage Syndrome, whereby the dog attacks unexpectedly. Although the syndrome gained Cocker Spaniels a reputation for unprovoked aggression and perhaps affected their popularity, Cocker Rage appears in other breeds and could be a seizure disorder according to Doglistener. Your French Bulldog Cocker mix should be an effective watchdog, warning you of guests and unwelcome visitors alike. However, French Cocker Spaniels are friendly and not afraid to seek affection from anyone. You must be vigilant about socialization, so your puppy does not develop timidity and fear-biting. Do French Cocker mixes do well with other animals? French Bulldogs naturally get along with other animals. You must supervise them with large dogs, so they do not become victims of bullying or serious injury. If you socialize them well and introduce them slowly, Cocker Spaniels are amiable around other animals, especially dogs. They are also small and need monitoring around big dogs, even Labradors, and German Shepherds. The French Bulldog Cocker Spaniel mix is a friendly dog and when socialized enjoys the company of other animals. They like their people best, though, and prefer being the center of attention. You should watch your Frenchie Cocker mix around tiny animals and birds as their ancestors do have a background in flushing and ratting. How much exercise does your dog need? French Bulldogs are exercise intolerant because of their extremely shortened muzzles and dwarfed limbs, but they still require low to moderate daily exercise to avoid obesity. Thirty to 45 minutes a day is a good rule of thumb divided into multiple sessions. Cocker Spaniels do best with moderate exercise, usually about 45 to 60 minutes a day. They do not require the strenuous workouts that some other breeds do but should receive plenty of socialization and mental stimulation. French Bulldog Cocker mixes should receive 35 to 50 minutes of exercise daily. You will have to gauge how many sessions your dog needs and how much you need to restrict him based on how short his muzzle is. Make sure to supply sufficient mental stimulation and physical activities to prevent boredom and provide appropriate socialization. How smart will your dog be? French Bulldogs are not ranked very high in working intelligence or obedience, but most owners appreciate how adaptive they are. French Bulldogs also tend to react positively and appropriately to their environment. According to Dogbreedslist. How trainable and obedient your French Bulldog-Cocker Spaniel is depended on which traits she most inherits from her parents. Frenchies are renowned performers, but they also can have quite a stubborn streak. Cocker Spaniels are eager to please but can have dominant issues or become oversensitive if training does not occur during the critical socialization period between 10 and 16 weeks old. Will your dog be a good family pet? Cocker Spaniels make great family companions, especially if you work on socializing them and avoid potential psychoses in certain family lines. As the smallest members of the sporting group, Cocker Spaniels have a steady temperament and a friendly nature. They bond with all household members. Frenchies, bred mainly as companion dogs, are enthusiastic and friendly. They bond to all members of your family, showing a loving and clownish personality. Your Frenchie Cocker mix will be affectionate and steadfast, requiring almost constant attention. Children French Bulldogs do well with children as they do with everyone else, but they can become vulnerable if kids hang or lay on them. Cocker Spaniels can be nippy around children if they come from unreputable breeding practices. Otherwise, Cockers are gentle with kids. Keep your Frenchie-Cocker away from toddlers unsupervised, but otherwise, she will be a great playmate for your children.
