I believe these dogs are over-reactive, stimulated by movement, distrustful of strangers and incredibly strong. The dog was described as a large bulldog-type breed and was believed to be a banned breed. The sixth death was two Rottweillers once again Mastiff Breeds. Conclusion: Think for just a minute about those facts and statistics, The majority of the fatalities including children as young as 17 months were caused by one breed of dog that is new and fairly rare in this country. People are buying them as family pets on the glowing approbation of the breeders in America. The majority were psychologically and temperamentally sound. I actually felt that the Dangerous Dogs Act was flawed from the outset and despite tinkering it is still unfit for purpose. .Genetics is just one part of the equation. Having said that, I believe what they have done with the American XL Bully is to create a dog that is so dangerous that the general public should never be allowed to breed or own one. For once in my life I believe that something drastic must be done to curb this ultra-aggressive and hyper-reactive breed. Put a ban on the breeding and selling of these dogs in all parts of the UK and start educating the general public on how to raise a well-rounded and safe dog when they first get a puppy. Most people especially during lockdown on a whim without any research or knowledge on how dogs think or learn. Most dogs are not socialised or trained enough during that first week period. His own dogs were mainly American XL Bully-type dogs and he had a lot of them. He was buying DNA manipulation kits so as to speed up the dramatic changes that people wanted in this breed of dog. Perhaps he or someone else succeeded? If so that could explain the sudden dramatic climb in fatal attacks from these XL Bully Breeds. It has now been reported that the XL American Bully dogs in the UK are times more likely to kill than any other dog breed, according to a new analysis of public data. What I am concerned about is whatever happened created a Frankenstein monster of a dog. Legislation is urgently required before many more children, adults, and dogs are killed. The problem with the XL Bullies their aggression is not related to socialisation, though that can exacerbate the problem. The real concern is their powerful genetic disposition for predatory and reactive aggression. These dogs were bred to fight and attack. They are the type of dogs that were used in Bull and Bear Baiting, and dog fighting, They also hark back to the famous dogs of war used by the Romans to create their empire and of course to invade Britain. We have our veterinarian x-ray each of our parent dogs before they're bred so we can see if they have hip dysplasia or not. We also x-ray their elbows for dysplasia, and our veterinarian will examine our smaller sized parents for luxating patellas knees. However, the breeder doesn't do any health testing at all, they just get wellness checks done on their parent dogs by their local veterinarian. There is also a gene responsible for weak furnishings, where the dog has a beard and eyebrows, but it's a lot thinner and wirey and not as fluffy as a dog with normal furnishings. Our goal is to produce allergy friendly teddy bear coats with furnishings. We will never produce a flat coated goldendoodle, as this is not the breed standard and there will always be moderate to high shedding involved. Flat coated goldendoodles can be very beautiful, but most of our puppy owners prefer the teddy bear non-shedding coats, so that's what we strive to produce. When we have litters, we ask those on the waiting list for the current litter if they are allergic to dogs that shed. We will work with those people who have allergies so they can get the puppy with the least chance of shedding by doing DNA tests on our puppies. If we know that some of our puppies inherit only one furnishing gene and its a weak one, we are able to determine this early on. The furnishing gene, both weak and strong, are testable and we know which of our parents carry which genes in order to pair them correctly. That's not true at all, and causes a lot of confusion. A Flat Coat is the result of no furnishing gene, just like a golden retriever with no fluff, beard, or eyebrows. A Straight Coat actually means that a goldendoodle has two non-curl genes, which means they'll have very little, if any, wave or curl to their coat. A Flat Coated goldendoodle could also have a wavy or curly coat, so the distinction is important due to so much confusion out there. If we do, the puppies could have a more exaggerated form of this fault. We want straight, even toplines, great front and rear angulation, feet that point forward, and nice long necks. These are things we look for when choosing a puppy for our breeding program, as well as temperament, health, and coat quality.
