A loving forever home with a secure fence and another dog in the home She wants to be your "All-American Girl! Carrie Underwood is so sweet and adorable. She is a bundle of tender kisses and has energy for days. She has been a great sister to the newest foster puppies that have come and gone, teaching them the art of playing with toys. Carrie's favorite thing to do is play chase with her K9 buddies. She runs fast and does figure 8's around the resident dogs, who don't even try to keep up with her. Her second favorite activity is napping with the resident Labs. She adores the older resident dogs and has learned great napping skills from them. She continues to work on her leash skills. Carrie has been quietly working on coming out of her shell and has undergone a transformation since arriving at her foster. She loves to curl up in the lap of her FM for naps and bedtime snuggles. She still has her moments of shyness around Foster Dad, but will now come voluntarily to the couch to sit beside him for attention. She's definitely gained lots of confidence. Carrie will need a home with another dog, preferably one who enjoys the same activity level. Carrie still has some shy moments but she is ready for her furever home, and she will steal the heart of anyone who wants to add a sweet yet energetic member to their family. Thank you to the following generous donors currently supporting Carrie's care: Amanda S. Vocality level 4 in 5 Disclaimer: While the characteristics mentioned here may frequently represent this breed, dogs are individuals whose personalities and appearances will vary. Please consult the adoption organization for details on a specific pet. Temperament Few breeds so richly deserve their popularity as does the Labrador Retriever. When trained, the breed is obedient and amiable and tolerates the antics of children, other dogs, and other pets. The Lab is a calm house dog, playful yard dog, and intense field dog, all on the same day. Labs are eager to please, enjoys learning, and excel in obedience. It is a powerful breed that loves to swim and retrieve. Labradors need daily physical and mental challenges to keep occupied. A bored Lab can get into trouble! Upkeep Labradors are active and sociable dogs. They need daily exercise, preferably in the form of retrieving and swimming. Owners with swimming pools either must fence them out or be prepared to share the pool with dogs. The Lab coat sheds water easily. Weekly brushing is needed to remove dead hair. Health Major concerns: CHD, elbow dysplasia, OCD, obesity, patellar luxation Minor concerns: cataract, CPRA, hot spots, retinal dysplasia, hypothyroidism Occasionally seen: diabetes, entropion, distichiasis, tricuspid valve dysplasia, centronuclear myopathy, exercise-induced collapse Suggested tests: hip, elbow, eye, exercise-induced collapse DNA , centronuclear myopathy , knee Life span: 10—12 years History The original Labradors were all-purpose water dogs originating in Newfoundland, not Labrador. Not only did the breed not originate in Labrador, but it also was not originally called the Labrador Retriever. These dogs—medium-sized black dogs with close hair—not only retrieved game but also retrieved fish, pulled small fishing boats through icy water and helped the fisherman in any task involving swimming. Eventually, the breed died out in Newfoundland in large part because of a heavy dog tax. However, a core of Labradors had been taken to England in the early s, and it is from these dogs, along with crosses to other retrievers, that the breed continued. It was also in England that the breed earned its reputation as an extraordinary retriever of upland game. Initially, black labs were favored over yellow or chocolate colors. By the early s, the other colors had become more accepted. The popularity of this breed has grown steadily until the Labrador Retriever became the most popular breed in America in and remains so today. Related Content.

Communicating with Jenna made things go so much smoother and she has an uncanny ability to help choose the right personality to fit your family's lifestyle. We now have two of the most beautiful pups!!! And we owe it all to Jenna with her guidance. The love that she has for her babies is such a commitment from the second they are born. If you are considering Greystone Australian Labradoodles as your choice, you will not be disappointed! Such an awesome and loving family producing the most beautiful pups:. We have had the best experience working with Greystone! They truly love and care about their dogs. It is NOT a puppy mill or even close, these are loved on family dogs! We cannot say enough great things about our experience! And…they are seriously the best dogs! We are completely obsessed with our doodle! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We got our puppy from Greystone in January. From the very begging of the process and up until now, they have been incredible. They answered numerous questions before hand and even when I need guidance with my puppy at home. They want the absolute best for their litters and you can truly tell how much love they put into getting these babies to the best home possible. We could not be happier with our little baby, Gino. He is an abustle joy and everything we could have wished for, and more. Would recommend Greystone to anyone who is looking for an Australian Labradoodle, they are the absolute best!!! We at Aussie Labradoodle believe we are breeding the most loving, healthy, and reliable family pets around! Of course, we may be a bit biased :. Beginning with our first imported Australian Labradoodle, Macey, from Tegan Park in Australia, we've been doing our best to improve this breed since ! Initially bred in in Australia to provide assistance dogs for folks with allergies, the Australian Labradoodle became a beloved family pet that offered the best of both worlds: a large family-oriented people pleaser, highly intelligent, with low shedding to no shedding and no doggie odor. Today in Australia they sometimes call them Cobberdogs. We use only the top quality Australian and American multigenerational lines in our breeding program. We take health testing seriously, and were among the first to test hips and elbows in many lines coming out of Australia. And we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome! Although we cannot foresee every problem that could present itself, we are doing all we can to minimize the chances of health problems in our doodles. We also offer a two-year health guarantee against genetic health issues to give you peace of mind. The foundation of our Australian Labradoodle breeding stock, Macey, was purchased in whelp from Tegan Park in Australia. She blessed us with gorgeous chocolate and cream labradoodle babies and has since retired. Two of her chocolate offspring, Kona and Bella, became the foundation of our breeding stock. We are an Australian labradoodle breeder specializing in authentic top quality Australian Labradoodle puppies in mini, and medium sizes. Sharing our puppies with families since , we have established our breeding program with fully tested breeding stock that can be traced back to the very earliest bloodlines. Why us Superb Temperament Australian labradoodles are known for their amazing temperament. Our love for this breed began with our first Australian labradoodle, Georgia pictured below in the snow. She taught us what the Australian labradoodle was all about. With her intuitive connection, and sociable personality, we fell in love instantly and so did everyone who met her. She was a joy to train, willing to please, gentle, and just as funny as she was affectionate. Due to their extreme willingness to please and ability to train, a percentage of our dogs have gone on to do therapy and service work. Nourishing Environment Puppies like babies need nurturing and human interaction. We are asking them to live in our world so the more human experiences they can have before going home, the easier the transition. We utilize Early neurological stimulation, Early Scent Introduction, Puppy Culture, a 10 step handling exercise, as well as extensive socialization to raise the most well-balanced dogs. All of our dogs are fed a high quality, all natural diet, for maximum health. We believe in a holistic approach to the well being of our dogs, and they are minimally vaccinated. Excellent Health While we have a strong emphasis for temperament, having a sound, physically healthy puppy is of upmost importance. Healthy puppies begin with the parents. Our breeding dogs have to meet strict requirements to enter the program. We start with carefully selected breeding stock coming from a controlled breeding line. Our Labradoodles have allergy friendly coats that are non-shedding, and we love helping people with allergies add to their family. As a registered member of the Worldwide Australian labradoodles Association, WALA our breeding program along with hundreds of other programs across the world, are dedicated to ethical breeding, and continued focus on the improvement of the Australian labradoodle breed. Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association We are grateful that we are able to raise and share these gentle, fun-loving, and intelligent dogs with others. I would love to hear from you! If you are interested in bringing one of our Australian labradoodle puppies home, or have additional questions not included on our website, please contact Kristina. I grew up with dogs in our family from a very early age, and always wanted to have a career involving dogs! I went to university to become an Elementary School Teacher and later found myself in Mansfield Ohio with my husband Marc to raise our two children. In , an opportunity to become a dog groomer presented itself, and since then I have developed a successful mobile dog grooming business serving the Mansfield, Ohio area and I decided to retire from teaching in .Our first dog together was Jasmine, a Golden Retriever. Since Jasmine, we've had a couple other wonderful dogs but our love for Labradoodles started when we purchased Layla, an F1b Labradoodle. She stole our hearts and put into motion researching the breed that turned into Providence Labradoodles. This breed is extremely clever, sociable, comical and joyful! They are energetic when free, and quiet when handled. They approach people in a happy, friendly manner and make amazing therapy and service dogs as they are keen to learn and easy to train. Their amazing qualities made it very easy to concentrate only on breeding this wonderful breed! Our puppies, like our dogs, are raised in our home with lots of human contact. Our puppies are started with a focus in socialization, constant love and a nuturing environment to ensure that they will have loving and easy-going dispositions. My goal is to provide a family with a loving companion, whether a house pet, therapy dog or service dog! It is so important to me to raise well rounded and happy puppies that will make wonderful companions. We adhere to high-quality standards when it comes to our breeding dogs. Each breeding dog is carefully chosen, tested for orthopedic conditions outlined by OFA Orthopedic Foundation for Animals as well as genetic conditions prior to breeding to ensure that our puppies will be healthy. Aside from being healthy, our breeding dogs are loving, kind and have amazing temperments that will be passed down to their offspring! Our Australian Labradoodles are non-shedding, allergy-friendly, and asthma-friendly. They are sweet, smart and provide hours of entertainment! Providence Labradoodles wants the best for all involved. A well-loved, well socialized and well trained puppy promises years of delight. You can read more about our dogs and puppies on the " Meet Our Dogs " page and " Puppies " page. These puppies are a mix between Labradoodles and either an English Cocker Spaniel or an American Cocker Spaniel which means you will be getting the best of all the breeds when it comes to their coat type and temperament. Australian Labradoodles are known to be very intelligent and are one of the more popular breeds for families. Providence Labradoodles pups have playful, gentle, and calm temperaments meaning they would be a great addition to any family with children. Our puppies are all-around happy dogs that just love to be around their families.

Rex right adopted from a friend April .She is living happily ever after with another boxer in Western NC. Picked up as a stray this sweet boy was intact, emaciated, with visible ribs, hip bones, and was heart worm positive. We fattened him up, treated all his medical issues, and gave him lots of love. Potter was adopted, he was gone 6 weeks, before he and is sibling were returned to the rescue. We took him back in and adopted him! Celebrating heart worm negative status! She was in terrible shape. Estimated age 9 months. Super sweet girl! After she was all fixed up she was adopted to a family in Charlotte, NC. She healed nicely and we worked on socialization with our Boxer Crew. Allee was adopted to a loving family in Charlotte, NC. Allee has taken a special role in her family as nurturing the incoming foster puppies. Lizzie June Lizzie was picked up as a stray and lived with a caring family until they realized they could not financially provide her with the medical treatment she needed. Lizzie, a sealed pocket boxer, arrived emaciated, full or worms, and heart worm positive. Rufus was adopted in May to a family in Charlotte, NC. Rufus has beautiful eyes. He was surrendered to the shelter with his boxer wife and their 5 two day old puppies. Their owner was taken to jail. Two of the puppies died shortly after arrival to the shelter. Both Judd and his boxer wife are heart-worm positive. Judd will undergo heart-worm treatment starting in December. I wanted him to be an foster failure but Dan said we had to keep the foster door open to help other dogs. He was right. Miller was adopted to a local family and is being spoiled rotten. Yea Miller! The breed standard is the double coat, which consists of dense, straight, short hair that lies close to the body. The long haired coat is also quite common among German Shepherds that are family pets. All rights reserved. This image may not be used by other entities without the express written consent of wikiHow, Inc. The most common colouring for a German Shepherd is black and tan; however, the breed can also appear in all black. Typically the coat is predominantly tan with black facial and saddle markings. In rare instances, German Shepherds can have white, blue, or reddish brown coats. These colours are not recognized by the breed standard, but do occur periodically. In fact, the white German Shepherd is actually considered a separate breed in some areas and is called the American White Shepherd. The German Shepherd is part of the working dog classification and has a strong proportioned build. Typically, the German Shepherd is 22 to 26 inches 56 to 66 cm tall and weighs between 50 and 90 pounds 23 and 41 kg. The AKC advocates for the responsible ownership of dogs and promotes purebred dog events, such as the Westminster Dog Show. By six months they will weigh approximately pounds kg. German Shepherds have very distinct pointed ears that are erect. They are long at the base and face forwards, making the shape of a triangle. As puppies, the tips of the ear may flop over slightly, but they will straighten as the dog ages. German Shepherds have a long and bushy tail that hangs down when the dog is resting. When a German Shepherd is alert or in motion, the curve of the tail is accentuated and the tail will be slightly raised. This is fun and stimulating for the dog. This breed is known to herd the sheep, count them, and keep them safe. This sense of possession make them apt for guarding a family. A pet can guard when he knows what all belongs to him and what does not. This ability helps a German Shepherd to differentiate between an enemy and the family. Protection to this breed comes naturally and that's why they are known as police dogs, too. German Shepherds are fantastic with your own kids and can act strange with the strangers and other kids. Once sealed, mail the results to the lab for testing. Approximately three weeks after you complete the test, you will receive detailed DNA results. November 8, In search of a new forever best friend? The German Shepherd is one of the most versatile, well-recognized, and popular dog breeds in the world. The modern German Shepherd is descended from a family of various German herding dogs. Breed standards were not developed until the late 19th century when Captain Max von Stephanitz, a German cavalry officer, worked with Arthur Meyer and other breeders to develop the ideal German herding dog. Stephanitz and Meyer wrote the breed standard in and the American Kennel Club recognized the German Shepherd as a member of the Herding Group in .Although they were originally bred as herding dogs, they were also bred for versatility, which made the German Shepherd an all-around working dog that could excel in a variety of applications. German Shepherds are one of the common dog breeds employed in K-9 units in both police and military applications. They also make great service dogs and, of course, are still awesome herding dogs and farm dogs! The German Shepherd is a strong-willed and highly intelligent dog. They have a playful, energetic spirit and tend to get along with children, other dogs, and other pets, which makes them a great family companion. A born protector, the German Shepherd will provide a great sense of security for their family while their loving and lively personality will make them fit right in as a companion. German Shepherds are naturally protective and can be wary of strangers at first. A well-socialized German Shepherd will bark to alert you and tends to warm up to strangers once introduced. They can adapt well to larger apartments as long as plenty of time is dedicated to ensuring they get enough exercise, mental stimulation, and attention every day. A bored, ignored, or under-exercised German Shepherd can often become a destructive one. They also can be sensitive to their surroundings and large gatherings can be off-putting. With a longer coat, they tend to prefer cooler climates and are sensitive to heat. The German Shepherd is a generally healthy breed, but there are some potential health concerns and good breeding practices make a big difference. Bathing is occasional on an as-needed basis. Ear checks weekly with careful cleanings as needed can help prevent ear infections. German Shepherds are high-energy working dogs. Not only do they require a lot of daily activity, but they also are a herding breed that was made to run, guard, and observe, so they need a job to do to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough for a GSD, but they will likely be up for more activity if you are. With their versatility and athleticism, you can try a lot of different activities when puppies finish growing and they are cleared for higher-impact things. Ensure that you are familiar with how to assess the body condition of your puppy. The ribs and spine should be easy to feel but not simple to see. My Puppy Is Still Hungry If your puppy seems excessively hungry provide more frequent but smaller meals. Young puppies cannot tolerate going without food for extended periods. With older puppies you may wish to experiment with foods that help them feel more full, and provide low calories treats. Keeping a health puppy active and occupied will help prevent them from becoming overly focused on anticipating their next meal. Split that daily amount up between all meals. For example, if your 3-month-old GSD puppy is a male and weighs 30 pounds, you should feed him approximately 2 cups per day. Since she no longer needs the extra calories to help support her fast growth period, you can safely reduce her feedings to 2 or 3 meals per day. While she should still be eating puppy food at this point, you may consider purchasing a bag of her eventual adult formula. You can use individual kibbles from the adult formula for treats or training rewards. This will help her get used to the new flavor and texture. Around 9 months of age, you can begin slowly adding a small amount of the adult formula into her puppy food, though she should still be eating primarily puppy chow. Only your vet will be able to tell you when your dog has reached maturity and can be safely moved to adult food. So, make sure you are in close contact with your vet to be sure that your feeding plan is individualized for your specific dog. Adult dog food will have a different ratio of calcium, protein, phosphorus, and other nutrients than puppy food does. Feeding an adult dog a puppy formula can cause obesity as well as put too much strain on kidneys and other vital organs. Long term use of inappropriate food for an adult dog can have catastrophic consequences. That said, there is no need to panic if your adult GSD eats a bowl of puppy food now and then. Adult German Shepherds should be fed twice a day. Again, bloat is a real problem for large breed dogs, and large meals seem to be a big cause of this. I feed my adult dogs this particular blend for a number of reasons. The blend is designed specifically with German Shepherds in mind, as it uses high-quality, animal-based nutrients to counter the extra stress put on the joints of GSDs and to help the development strong lean muscle to keep your dog in peak physical condition. You really can see the difference. This is evident by the fast decline in health, joint flexibility, and energy in older large breed dogs compared to same-age smaller breeds. When your GSD moves from the adult life stage to senior, you need to adjust her diet. Large breeds reach the older stage not quite senior, but close around half of their assumed life expectancy. Inevitably, your GSD will need to switch over to a senior diet. Older large breed dogs have lower energy needs. Older dogs also tend to slow down their digestion, so an increase in fiber might be a good choice for your senior GSD. Do be sure to confirm this with your vet, however. Not all foods are created equal. For treats, senior dogs should avoid calorie-dense milk bones and high-salt or fatty treats. Opt for healthy, whole-food treats such as apple slices or carrots. Some senior dogs begin to develop health conditions that will require special care. This is often a result of poor nutrition early in life, but can sometimes simply be genetics and old age catching up with them. But for GSDs with health issues such as kidney disease and joint pain, diet can play an even bigger role in the quality of their lives. Getting a personalized recommendation from your veterinarian is worth the time, expense, and effort. These charts can seem pretty straightforward at first glance. Instead, use them as a starting point. Observe your dog, see how he looks and feels, and note any changes in his bathroom habits, weight, or energy level. Adjust his meals accordingly. Generally speaking, they talk about daily intake, not per meal. It means to split that 3 cups total over the entire day. If your dog eats 3 times per day, that would be 1 cup at each meal for a total daily intake of 3 cups. To further confuse dog parents, some manufacturers do list per-meal serving sizes, not the total daily intake! In these cases, if you read it incorrectly, you would end up underfeeding your dog. To help mitigate some of this confusion, it may be helpful to ask your vet how many calories your dog should be consuming each day. Then you can check the calorie content in the dog food and measure things from there. Raw Diets, Cooking for Dogs, and Other Alternative Feeding This article has been focusing mainly on commercially available dry kibble since that is what most pet parents ultimately choose for their dogs. However, there are many dog owners that choose to feed alternative diets. These include raw diets and cooking regular people food for dogs. There are many viable options for feeding your healthy German Shepherd, but there are just as many harmful fads, too. As with commercial foods, be sure to speak with your vet before starting your dog on a raw diet or home-cooking her meals. Human supplements are often unregulated, minimally effective, and often contain substances harmful to animals. Never use a human supplement for your German Shepherd. Final Thoughts What you feed your German Shepherd is just as important as how much you feed them. Pay special attention to the first 4 or 5 ingredients listed on the back of the packaging. Choose high-quality, safety-tested foods with clear ingredient and nutrition labels. The two most obvious goals of feeding your German Shepherd are for health and growth. How fast do German Shepherds grow? German Shepherds are medium-large dogs and therefore grow at a fast rate over the first six to seven months leading up to adolescence. Adult German Shepherds are 22 to 26 inches tall and weigh 50 to 95 pounds. Reputable weight charts suggest your German Shepherd puppy will have attained three-quarters of their final weight over these first six to seven months. This is A LOT of growing to do in a short amount of time — when you brought your puppy home, it was probably only eight inches tall and weighed around 15 pounds. By 12 to 15 months old, a German Shepherd is within an inch or less of their adult height. Therefore, your male German Shepherd will be 23 to 25 inches tall and weigh 59 to 93 pounds by his first birthday. How does diet affect the health of growing Shepherds? Recently it has come to light that a proper diet for puppies does more than prevent malnutrition. As part of this proper diet, there are many things that should never be fed to German Shepherds. Orthopedic Problems Many orthopedic problems such as hip and elbow dysplasia have a strong hereditary component. However, people often discount the role of diet in bone developmental issues. Merely creating an oversized puppy, as is often the case for show animals and people fixated on large dogs, can lead to several painful disorders: Hip dysplasia Elbow dysplasia Panosteitis — Generalized inflammation of the long bones in puppies; common in German Shepherds. Overnutrition and over-supplementation of certain vitamins and minerals lead to paradoxical malnutrition of the bone, and subsequently improper development. Nutritional experts have modified their recommendations regarding the diets of large-breed dogs. Many nutritionists and veterinarians advocate feeding German Shepherds and other large-breed puppies an adult or professionally-formulated homemade diet to limit the occurrence and severity of developmental problems. Pet food manufacturers have caught onto the concept of overnutrition in puppies, and most carry special diets for large-breed puppies. Also, do not supplement your puppy with vitamins, minerals, or proteins without veterinarian direction — their excessive use will disrupt bone and cartilage growth and harm the growth plates. Many people use the food bag as a starting point to decide how much to feed their dogs. However, a label on commercial food is one of the easiest ways to overfeed your growing puppy. Feeding your puppy involves regularly evaluating and tracking their weight. You should be able to assess how close your pup is to their ideal weight just by looking at them. Silhouette from the side — a slight tuck. Pat the ribcage where the abdomen slightly lifts towards the hips. From above — Clear waist; should see an hourglass shape from rib cage to hips When you palpate — You should feel the ribs under a thin layer of fat without having to prod very hard. Puppies will vary in their body scores and may change rapidly within a few days. Pups often lose their abdominal tuck right after a meal. Puppies under 16 weeks old commonly have a pot-bellied appearance without much abdominal tuck. Thin dogs will show more visibility of ribs, waist, and pelvis without appearing emaciated or unhealthy. If your puppy eats well but fails to grow or gain sufficient weight, consult a medical professional. German Shepherds can be susceptible to rare cases of pituitary gland dwarfism or a deficiency of enzyme production from the pancreas. Volume The easiest way to determine how much food to give your Shepherd pup is to figure out how many cups they need in a day and divide it by the number of feedings. German Shepherds eat about four cups of food daily from 16 weeks of age to nine months or a year regardless of weight. The volume accounts for the relatively high caloric requirements of the young growing animal. German Shepherds over a year old may need as much as five to eight cups of dog food. Other references, however, use weight rather than age. Pups eat one cup of food daily per 15 to 20 pounds. Dogs over pounds receive five cups of kibble plus an additional half a cup for every extra 20 pounds. Like all models, more active dogs need to eat more food — make adjustments up or down based on body scoring. You can estimate the volume to feed your German Shepherd pup once you find the conversion rate. Dry dog food bags and wet food cans usually have the kilocalorie equivalence of each cup of the product. The number of calories you feed your Shepherd depends on how close to the adult weight they are. Once your puppy reaches six weeks old, you may still have to feed it a mash but can decrease meals to four per day. German Shepherd puppies between the ages of 12 and 16 weeks can eat three to four times daily, while most dogs over four months of age decrease to a frequency of two to three times daily. Centering a few potty breaks around meals that stimulate their intestinal tracts helps develop consistent habits. GDV Your German Shepherd puppy will begin to develop a deeper chest combined with significant size by four to six months of age. Both physical characteristics put your puppy at additional risk of gastric dilatation and volvulus compared to smaller breeds. Four months is the age at which most pups will see a significant increase in their meal sizes. Studies have linked large meals with GDV , or bloat, life-threatening distension, and rotation of the stomach. Increasing the number of feedings greatly reduces the incidence of GDV. We recommend at least two meals a day for your dog, even as your Shepherd approaches adulthood. How much to feed a German Shepherd puppy is part of a broader equation that includes avoiding overfeeding, calculating portion sizes, and scheduling appropriate mealtimes. However, a fat or pudgy puppy is not a look anyone should encourage. The puppy may appear to be in good shape, but you need to feel the ribs to be certain. Four Months You can really start to see the amount the pup has grown compared to the eight-week-old puppy! To get a better idea of what to expect with a young GSD, feel free to watch this video! It illustrates the rapid growth rate of the German Shepherd and touches on diets as well. Recommended reading.

She smiles at us, she stands up and hugs us when we get home, she brings pure happiness to everyone she meets! She is a little more timid when going out in public so pet therapy is not in her future career. She is still the sweetest! She comes around and gives everyone in our family love, not missing anyone. When you arrive home, she always goes and grabs her babies to show you. She knows so many tricks and was so easy to teach! Our year-old daughter taught her sit, roll over, shake, jump through a hula hoop, tell a secret, weave between your legs, high five and even how to push a button to ask for a treat. She likes to put on dog shows for our company! We really did our research before purchasing our first doodle and man did we choose right when we came to you! The Husky Pug Mix, also known as the "Hug," is a fascinating mixed breed that combines the best traits of two popular dog breeds: the Siberian Husky and the Pug. This hybrid dog has been growing in popularity in recent years, and it's easy to see why. In this article, we'll delve into everything you need to know about the Husky Pug Mix, from their appearance and personality to their health and grooming needs. This unlikely pairing results in a unique and charming dog with a captivating blend of physical and personality traits. As the popularity of mixed breeds continues to rise, the Husky Pug Mix has become a sought-after choice for those seeking a unique and loyal companion. But what makes this hybrid dog so special? Typically, a Husky Pug Mix will have a compact and sturdy build, with a weight range of 30 to 60 pounds and a height of 16 to 22 inches at the shoulder. Their coat can be short to medium in length, often featuring the distinct markings of a Siberian Husky. Their facial features can vary, with some having the wrinkled face and pushed-in nose of a Pug, while others inherit the sharp and wolf-like features of a Husky. One of the most captivating aspects of the Husky Pug Mix is its appearance. These dogs are a delightful blend of both parent breeds, with physical traits that can vary greatly between individual dogs. These dogs are highly social and love to be around people, making them excellent family pets. Their Siberian Husky heritage contributes a playful, energetic, and intelligent nature, while their Pug ancestry brings a loving, loyal, and easy-going temperament. Despite their high energy levels, Husky Pug Mixes can also be quite laid-back and are known to enjoy a good cuddle. However, these dogs can also inherit a stubborn streak from their Pug parent, so patience and consistency are essential during training sessions. Husky Pug Mixes require a moderate amount of exercise to keep them healthy and happy. A daily walk, coupled with some playtime in the yard or at the park, will help keep your Husky Pug Mix mentally and physically stimulated. However, like all mixed breeds, they can be prone to certain health issues inherited from their parent breeds. Some potential health concerns to watch for in a Husky Pug Mix include hip dysplasia , eye issues, and breathing difficulties due to their shortened snout. Regular veterinary check-ups and a healthy diet can help mitigate these risks and ensure your Husky Pug Mix lives a long and happy life. If your dog has a short coat like a Pug, grooming will be relatively easy with regular brushing to remove loose hair and keep their coat looking shiny. If they have a longer coat like a Siberian Husky, more frequent brushing will be necessary to prevent matting and keep shedding under control. Additionally, regular nail trimming, ear cleaning, and dental care are important to maintain your Husky Pug Mix's overall health and well-being. Now that you know all about the Husky Pug Mix, you might be wondering if this unique and lovable breed is the right fit for you and your family. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and energetic companion who will bring joy and laughter to your home, the Husky Pug Mix might just be the perfect match! Training and Socialization The intelligent nature of the Husky Pug mix makes them highly trainable, but it's essential to start early and be consistent. Use positive reinforcement techniques, such as praise, treats, and play, to encourage desired behaviors. This breed may inherit the Pug's stubbornness, so patience and persistence are key. Socialization is crucial for a well-rounded and confident Hug. Expose your dog to a variety of people, animals, and environments from an early age to help them become comfortable in different situations. Enrolling in puppy socialization classes or obedience training can be a great way to kick-start the process. Exercise and Activity As mentioned earlier, the Husky Pug mix has moderate to high energy levels, and it is essential to provide them with daily physical activity and mental stimulation. Aim for at least 45 to 60 minutes of exercise per day, which can include walks, jogs, hikes, or play sessions in a fenced yard or dog park. Keep in mind that the Pug's brachycephalic short-nosed features can make the Hug more susceptible to overheating and breathing difficulties, especially during hot weather or strenuous exercise. Monitor your dog closely and provide them with plenty of water and shade to avoid heat exhaustion. Mental stimulation is just as important for your Husky Pug mix. Engage their minds with puzzle toys, interactive games, and training sessions. Generally, Siberian Huskies need at least two hours of heavy exercise daily. A bored Husky has tendencies to chew on anything he grabs. Siberian Huskies are also suited for agility classes and activities which channel their high intelligence productively. Pugs love going on short walks, at least 40 minutes a day. They like to move around, and they prefer doing indoor games since they are quite sensitive to warmer weather. Depending on which traits your Husky Pug inherits from its parents, make sure you attend to its daily activity needs to prevent developing unwanted behaviors. Getting them to do physical activities daily will keep your pet companion happy and healthy. Pug crossed with Husky Training Properly training your pup is just as crucial as its regular exercise needs. You may need some patience on your part while training this dog breed since they may inherit the willfulness of their Siberian Husky parent. This is for your dog to learn the proper etiquette at a young age and avoid developing aggressive behaviors when he grows up. Remember to keep the pace of the training slow as your pup is still young and his body might still be fragile. Later on, when your pup is ready physically, you can increase the pace. Use Positive ReinforcementEven if this mixed breed has a tendency to become stubborn due to its Siberian Husky lineage, avoid taking extreme measures. The use of positive reinforcement goes a long way in getting your Pug Husky mix to behave. Using negative punishment-based training will not do any help, but instead, your pup might just end up not respecting you. Make it a regular routine to reward him whenever he does something right. Implement simple rules that they can follow and in return and give them praises and treats for obeying the rules. Remember not to overfeed them with food treats as this hybrid has a high tendency to be obese, especially if it inherits most of his Pug parent breed characteristics. Puppy socialization has been proven to reduce developing aggressive behaviors, anxiety, and fearfulness later on in their adulthood. Do Mental ExercisesYour Pug Husky is undoubtedly an intelligent dog, which means this trait needs to nurtured and stimulated. Bad things happen when they get bored. They can easily rip apart newspapers, your carpet and furniture. Avoid this scenario by including mental stimulation activities on your training session, which can be in the form of games or puzzles. Great family dogs and good with kids Very friendly and are rarely ever aggressive Can make great watchdogs for your family Are generally small dogs, not needing too much space or exercise IF containing more pug genes This was just a quick snapshot of just a few of their positive traits which might make you want a Husky Pug mix. The Husky and the Pug are two breeds that could not look more different even if they tried! The best way to describe the Hug dog is almost like a mini-husky that has Pug features and shape! Many people ask how big does a husky pug get, and are interested in the full-grown size of the Hug dog. This depends on which parent genes the crossbreed takes on more. Weight This is similar to height, as the two breeds are so drastically different. The weight ultimately depends on the size and height of the Husky Pug mix. The average weight of a Husky Pug mix can range from as little as 15lbs all the way to 60lbs. Coat, Color, and Markings Huskies have medium to long thick double-layered coats and contrary to belief the Pug also has a double-layered coat! Although their coat is short with a smooth glossy feel. Their color and markings tend to stay separate. Huskies are typically white, gray, black or red with very bold markings, especially on their face, around their eyes, and head. Pugs are typically fawn color with a dark snout. Husky Pug mixes will usually either be one or the other. Their colors and markings are usually either that of the pug parent or the husky parent. Nose and Snout The snouts of each parent breed could not be more different. Huskies have a long prominent snout, and the Pug snout is pretty much non-existent. Ears Pugs tend to have small floppy ears whereas Huskies have large triangle standing ears. With Hugs, you can see a range of ear shapes. An interesting observation, commonly seen with Husky Pug mixes is that when the coat color and markings of the Husky parent come through more, the ears tend to be floppy like the Pug. On the contrary, when the coat color and markings of the Pug come through, the ears tend to be standing upright triangles shape like Huskies. Pretty cool! Eyes One of the most visually striking parts of the Siberian Husky are their eyes. Husky Pug mixes have been seen to have the piercing blue eyes that the Husky can have. In even rarer cases, you will get a Hug puppy that has one brown and one blue eye. What also has a big effect on temperament is what the parents were like. If one of the parents had any behavioral issues this could pass down to the offspring and cause them to show similar behavior. We know that both the Siberian Husky and the Pug are both very friendly, loving and affectionate. Both breeds love attention. Huskies are considered by many to be the No. The Hug will definitely want all the time they can possibly get from you and the family. The Husky is very social and can easily make friends with other dogs or strangers without being aggressive or suspicious. The Pug, on the other hand, needs strong socialization training in order to be like this. Pugs are not generally aggressive BUT they can be to unknown dogs or strangers. So, how much does a Husky Pug mix Cost? Here are some of the basic things to look for when getting a new puppy: Use a trusted breeder that has references you can check on. If the breeder has been recommended by a veterinarian, this is the best. A good breeder will not pressure you into making any purchases. If the breeder seems too pushy for your money. This is not a good sign. Make sure the breeder has had the necessary healthy check-ups and test for the new puppy Proper certificates and health documentation should be present for the parents of the husky pug mix. If the parents are there, you should go and see them. Get a feel for their temperament and their general health and well-being. Unfortunately, there are many illegitimate breeders using online websites to make a quick profit. Do the same checks as you would otherwise when looking in person. Grooming is an important part of keeping all dogs healthy and you will have to groom your Husky Pug mix frequently. If your Hug inherits the shorter, smoother coat from the Pug parent, then you should brush them once or twice per week, which will remove any dead hairs that need to come out, as well as removing any dirt dust or hair tangles. The longer the hair, the more dead hair there will be in the undercoat. Exercising a Husky mix with Pug Huskies and Pugs are very different when it comes to their exercise requirements. The only way you will really know by monitoring your Hug as they grow up. Siberian Huskies need around 2 hours of intense exercise per day. They have extremely high energy levels and they need to channel this through physical and mental exercise. When Huskies do not receive the exercise they need and desire, they tend to become very destructive and badly behaved. As the parents are so different, the only way you will know how much exercise your Hug needs, is to monitor and gauge them as they grow. Pug mix with Husky Diet Requirements Siberian Huskies tend not to have big appetites and despite their size, are not greedy. When a Husky is feeling remotely full, they will leave their bowl even with food still in it. Oftentimes, people consider Huskies to be very fussy eaters. Pugs, in general, are pretty normal eaters, they typically do not have issues eating, they can sometimes be fussy, or have sensitive stomachs, but usually, they have normal eating habits. While they may not be as smart, many owners say that their Pugs are quick learners and can be very obedient once trained. However, both breeds, especially the Siberian Husky have a stubborn streak in them, which means training can be very challenging. If your Husky Pug mix has more Husky genes, training will not be easy and you will be tested from day one! The truth is your puppy is ready to be trained instantly and should be to instill the correct behavior. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. Establish the hierarchy Both the Husky and Pug look to appease their owners, but you first must establish yourself as the leader, this will also help with all subsequent training. Remember that you are in charge and your puppy has to do things when you want them to. All training should be Positive Reinforcement Based The absolute best way to train all puppies is through positive reinforcement. Do not punish your puppy when they get it wrong, praise them when they get it right. Praise can be a small treat , or by making a big fuss out of them for a few seconds. Reward them the second they get any training correct. Consistent training every day will be needed Training should be done every day as much as possible. Once your puppy knows these commands, it makes more difficult training a lot easier and feasible. Recall and sociability training should start as soon as possible after basic commands. Recall and sociability training will be super important for a well-behaved crossbreed. Shift your focus to recall training and sociability after your Hug gets the basic commands. This will be just as useful for a Husky Pug puppy as well. It walks you through training, step by step. Unfortunately, despite the generous lifespan, this crossbreed is prone to many health issues that can be difficult to fix. The Husky is a generally healthy breed with typical health issues affecting most dog breeds. There are a few common problems that affect Huskies more and I will list them below. Pugs, on the other hand, are known to have many health issues. Unfortunately, this breed is likely to suffer from many different problems throughout their life. Pug Dog Encephalitis PDE is common amongst Pugs and is considered an aggressive and fatal inflammatory disease affecting the central nervous system. Final Thoughts Quick Profile In a hurry? This means that when they breed, their puppies can look very different from one another! Husky Pugs can look very different from each other! Average size Huskies are described as being a medium-sized dog breed and Pugs as a small-sized dog breed. As a result, the Husky Pug mix lies somewhere in between, but it is usually on the smaller side. Due to the size difference between an average Husky and Pug, it is hard to predict exactly how big a Pusky will grow. The average height of a Husky Pug mix can loosely be described as between 10 and 24 inches 25cmcm and the average weight as between 18 and 60 lbs 8kgkg. If both the parents are on the larger size, then you can usually expect larger puppies and vice versa. As the size range is so large, we recommend that all puppies are seen by a vet to determine what weight is healthy. They will be able to assess the body fat that is present and recommend a more specific healthy weight range. This is particularly important as the Pug breed is prone to obesity. Coat appearance Huskies and Pugs have quite different coat appearances. Whilst Huskies are recognised for their wolf-like coats and markings that perfectly suit a snowy landscape, Pugs usually have a solid colour coat appearance either fawn or black with very dark markings around the snout. In fact, Husky Pug mixes will often have the marking of either the Pug parent or the Husky parent, but not both. This can lead to a large variation in the appearance of puppies within the same litter. In general, Husky Pugs will have coats that exhibit a broad range of colours from grey, white, and black to fawn and chocolatey brown. Dark markings around the face and snout will often be present but will vary between individual puppies. One thing that Huskies and Pugs do have in common is that they are both double-coated breeds. As a result, Husky Pugs will have short-to-medium length double coats that have a smooth, straight texture. Their ears can either be erect or floppy and it often depends on their coat appearance. For example, Pugskies with coats that resemble their Husky parent will usually have the floppy ears of a pug and vice versa. Husky Pugs can have a wide range of eye colours, from dark brown to striking blue. The famous heterochromia that is often associated with Huskies is also possible in Husky Pugs, meaning they may have eyes of two different colours. Husky Pugs will have a stocky build. Their tails can either be curled or straight but straight is more commonly seen. Husky Pug Mix Grooming Guide Husky Pugs are a double-coated breed and require a good grooming routine to keep them looking healthy. Grooming is also important as it allows you to check their body frequently for any changes that are unnoticeable by sight alone. Their grooming routine will vary depending on the length of coat they inherit from their parents: If they have a shorter coat resembling that of a Pug, then you might be able to get away with weekly brushing. Brushing with a suitable tool will remove loose hairs and dislodge any dirt that has gotten stuck. Not only that, but it will prevent matting from forming which will be painful to remove down the line. If they have a longer coat like their Husky parent, then grooming must be done several times per week. Loose hairs can get tangled much easier in longer fur so regular grooming is needed. We recommend for Husky Pug mix owners to invest in the following tools to make grooming easier: An undercoat rake: Essential for double-coated breeds, this tool removes loose fur from the undercoat quickly and painlessly. A dematter tool: If your Husky Pug mix has a longer coat, they will be prone to getting matted fur. A dematter tool has lightly serrated edges that remove matted fur without causing pain to your Husky Pug and without damaging the coat unnecessarily. A pin brush: Pin brushes should be used for regular grooming to remove loose hairs and stimulate new fur growth by massaging the skin. If your Husky Pug has facial folds, they must be cleaned regularly to remove dirt that builds up within them. Husky Pugs should be bathed roughly once every weeks, or as needed if they become excessively dirty. Their teeth should be kept clean with daily brushing or dental chews. Their nails will need clipping as required, although an appropriate exercise routine will help to keep them filed. Husky Pug Mix Temperament Despite clear physical differences, the Husky and the Pug share many of the same personality traits. This means it is relatively easy to predict the temperament of a Husky Pug. Keep in mind that all dogs are different and that no two Husky Pugs will be exactly the same. Husky Pugs are a friendly crossbreed and are very affectionate with their owners. They love to be the centre of attention and will often follow their owners around, hoping to be involved in family activities. Husky Pugs are usually quite social and will befriend anyone they come across. They are a great breed for living with children, but interactions with young children and babies should always be supervised as with all dog breeds. This makes the crossbreed an excellent choice for family homes that have many visitors. Not only that, but with the correct socialisation, Husky Pugs can happily interact and live with other dogs. Socialisation should be started at a young age, although the crossbreed is quite adaptable and will often learn to accommodate other dogs at an older age too. Whether a Husky Pug can live with a cat really depends on the individual dog. Huskies are known for having a high prey drive which often leads to them trying to hunt cats that they live with. On the other hand, Pugs are much more friendly towards their feline companions and can usually live with them in harmony. With the correct socialisation and precautions put in place, it is possible for Husky Pugs to live with cats. Overall, the Husky Pug is a dog that will instantly be loved by anyone who meets it thanks to its friendly personality and tendency to seek attention. The average life expectancy of a Husky Pug mix is years. The Husky Pug is prone to developing, or being born with, certain health conditions due to its parent breeds. Being aware of these conditions will make it easier to identify them should they occur in the future. The most commonly seen health conditions in Husky Pugs are listed below: Pug Dog Encephalitis PDE — Most commonly found affecting Pugs and their crossbreeds, this rare auto-immune disease causes inflammation of the brain tissue. It is a progressive disease, meaning it will become worse with time, and is usually fatal. Symptoms include seizures, blindness, and depression. It is thought that PDE occurs in Pugs who are closely related , and genetic testing can be completed to reduce the chances of a Pugsky inheriting the relevant genes. Hip and Elbow Dysplasia — A skeletal condition that causes the hip and elbow joints to deteriorate over time due to abnormalities. Pugs rank as the second-highest breed affected by hip dysplasia specifically. Treatment is possible with surgical intervention, although prevention through careful breeding programs and good weight management is preferred. Cataracts is usually age-related but in rarer cases, Husky Pugs may develop juvenile cataracts. Pugs that have been bred to have flat faces are highly affected by this condition which causes chronic discomfort and the tendency to struggle to breathe during exercise. The Pug parent of a Husky Pug should be a responsibly bred Pug, that has been bred for health rather than appearance. Dermatitis — Husky Pugs with facial folds or tightly curled tails are likely to get dermatitis which is the irritation of the surrounding skin. If untreated, dermatitis can cause hair loss and may progress into an infection. The recommended health tests for the Husky Pug mix are: Ophthalmologist evaluation eyes Blood tests to check for common vitamin deficiencies such as zinc Allergy tests Physical examinations We recommend that your Husky Pug mix is neutered at the appropriate age and that they receive vaccines against preventable diseases. It is important that you take the steps to prevent them from getting fleas or worms using over-the-counter medication. This is because there is a stark difference in the energy levels of both parent breeds. On one hand, the Husky is a highly energetic breed that can play for hours on end. On the other hand, Pugs are often couch potatoes that will happily snooze the day away. As a result, Husky Pugs have a moderate exercise requirement, but individuals may have more or less energy depending on their temperament. Husky Pugs will enjoy one long walk per day or around 90 minutes of physical activity which includes playtime. It is recommended for Husky Pugs to live in a home that has an easily accessible yard for them to run in, although it is possible for them to live in apartments so long as their exercise needs are fulfilled. Husky Pugs are susceptible to heatstroke thanks to their shorter snouts and dense coats. During the summer months, avoid walks and playtime during the hottest part of the day and make sure fresh water is always available. This will help them to maintain a healthy weight and prevent issues in later life. Husky Pugs will benefit from consistent obedience training, starting at a young age. Both the Siberian Husky and the Pug are regarded as being stubborn breeds, meaning training will be challenging if it is left too late. Thankfully, both parent breeds are quick learners despite the myths that pugs are unintelligent. Final Thoughts Overall, the Husky Pug mix is a loving and affectionate crossbreed that easily fits in with most family households. They are not overly energetic but will still enjoy a good play, and will live a long and healthy life with the proper care. Do you own a Husky Pug? Certain breeds such as the Poodle, Schnauzer, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon are known for having "furnishings". Doodles can have one, two, or no copies of the furnishing gene. A dog with two copies of Furnishing will have minimal shedding and their coat will continue to grow. Similarly, a dog with one copy, like a traditional F1 Doodle, will also have minimal shedding. Lastly, a dog with no furnishing will have a coat that sheds and will eventually stop growing according to the breed standard. Did you know that the furnishing gene only affects the bearding and facial hair of a doodle? If a doodle is unfurnished, their face will look smoother and resemble that of their non-poodle parent breed. When it comes to genetics, dogs with an FF gene will have a furnished coat, while those with an IC incomplete coat will be unfurnished. Unfurnished doodles require less grooming, have a more "traditional" appearance, and come in a variety of colors, which can be exciting. Moreover, multigenerational Bernedoodles have wonderful personalities, making them a great choice for those looking for a loving and unique furry companion. Yes, F2 Doodles with an improper coat can still shed. Shedding is a natural process for dogs, and it is not determined by whether or not they have an improper coat. The amount of shedding Doodles experience can be influenced by a variety of factors, including their coat type, length, texture, and thickness, as well as their genetics, overall health, and environment. Doodles with an improper coat may shed more or less than other Doodles, depending on the individual dog and their specific coat characteristics. Proper grooming and care, including regular brushing, bathing, and feeding a high-quality diet, can help reduce shedding in all types of Doodles, regardless of their coat type or whether or not they have an improper coat. If you own a Bernese Mountain Dog, you might have noticed that they shed moderately throughout the year due to their thick double coat. Shedding becomes more significant twice a year, during seasonal changes. To minimize shedding, it's essential to brush your Bernese regularly. However, keep in mind that Bernese Mountain Dogs shed more heavily during specific times, such as when they are pregnant or nursing or when they are puppies. Factors such as nutrition, health, and environment can also affect the amount of shedding. To reduce shedding, it's essential to groom and care for your Bernese Mountain Dog properly. This includes regular brushing, bathing, and feeding them a high-quality diet. Shedding becomes more substantial twice a year during seasonal changes. Regular brushing can help reduce shedding. F2 Doodles A second-generation hybrid doodle breed that results from crossing two first-generation Doodle breeds is referred to as an F2 Doodle. A Doodle is a hybrid dog breed produced by crossing a Poodle with another dog breed like a Bernedoodle or a Golden Retriever. The offspring from this crossbreed is called "F1" Doodles, meaning first generation. F2 Doodles may have varying appearances and temperaments as it is unpredictable which traits they will inherit from their parents. It is important to note that not all Doodle breeders use a standardized naming convention for their litters, so the term "F2 Doodle" may not always be used consistently or accurately. However, the overall coat type of this dog is dependent on the combination of this dog's genotypes at the L, Cu, and IC loci. This dog does not carry the mutation for weak furnishings. Therefore, this dog can produce puppies with improper coat if bred with a dog that carries one or two copies of the mutation for improper coat IC. It's worth noting that the texture of their coat has no impact on their puppy's demeanor, only their charming appearance. At Massachusetts Bernedoodles, all of our puppies have wonderful temperaments. Therefore, most often, choosing a puppy comes down to your size, color and gender preference. This week, we dive into the science behind coat genetics and share what a dog with an unfurnished coat looks like! Understanding the Science and the Physical Presentation For starters, we will share a photo of a dog with a furnished coat. The key difference in a dog with a furnished coat versus one with an unfurnished coat is the facial hair. Dogs with furnished coats have that signature doodle hair all over, including their face. This is just one of the things to consider when adopting a furnished doodle of any sort. One thing to note is that the curly coated gene does not indicate furnishing or the lack thereof in a Bernedoodle. How do we know if a puppy will be furnished or unfurnished before their coats are finalized? We do genetic testing on our puppies for full transparency and so that all of our adopters know what they will be getting in their new addition. As we mentioned, the furnishing gene only impacts the bearding and facial hair of your puppy. Unfurnished puppies have a smooth face. In Bernedoodles, this greatly resembles their Bernese Mountain Dog ancestry. We have included a photo of a Bernese Mountain Dog for an example. Notice how the dog to the right has a smooth face? We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments.
