A loving forever home with a secure fence and another dog in the home She wants to be your "All-American Girl! Carrie Underwood is so sweet and adorable. She is a bundle of tender kisses and has energy for days. She has been a great sister to the newest foster puppies that have come and gone, teaching them the art of playing with toys. Carrie's favorite thing to do is play chase with her K9 buddies. She runs fast and does figure 8's around the resident dogs, who don't even try to keep up with her. Her second favorite activity is napping with the resident Labs. She adores the older resident dogs and has learned great napping skills from them. She continues to work on her leash skills. Carrie has been quietly working on coming out of her shell and has undergone a transformation since arriving at her foster. She loves to curl up in the lap of her FM for naps and bedtime snuggles. She still has her moments of shyness around Foster Dad, but will now come voluntarily to the couch to sit beside him for attention. She's definitely gained lots of confidence. Carrie will need a home with another dog, preferably one who enjoys the same activity level. Carrie still has some shy moments but she is ready for her furever home, and she will steal the heart of anyone who wants to add a sweet yet energetic member to their family. Thank you to the following generous donors currently supporting Carrie's care: Amanda S. So Many Easy Ways to Give! Amazon doesn't have an app. Use their website on your phone. It's just as easily or use the app to fill your cart, but don't check out. Check out using the SmileAmazon website. Your items are still there. It's easy! Every purchase helps our Labs. You shop, Amazon gives! We were there but now we need your help. Will you skip Starbucks for a week or dinner out? Valley Glen, CA Thank you for giving these dogs a voice. IndiLab was there for Tillman. Will you be too? We didn't let that happen. Multiple surgeries, time to heal between, foster willing to take a petrified medical case, stress impeding healing, and special needs adopters to take him home. See our breakdown below his photos. They don't need it, the dogs do. Petal was used to breed puppies for profit. When she prolapsed she wasn't wanted anymore. IndiLab was there for Petal. Petal spend her entire life in a cage on dirt surrounded by plywood. She never had love, played on grass, went in a house, slept in a dog bed, or was pet She was isolated and depressed. When she prolapsed her owner took her to be killed. By the grace of God, Petal found compassion in the very person hired to euthanize her. We were contacted and we rushed to take her in. Petal has been spayed and her first surgery to fix her prolapse completed. But this is what rescue is all about for our breed. We will do whatever is necesarry to give this beautiful, darling, and sweet love a chance she never had. As sad as it is, the day we found her was her luckiest day because her new life began. Petal will be seeing a new specialist as we continue to attempt to shrink her prolapse in preparation for yet another surgery. Meanwhile she is being lovingly cared for by the most special foster mom who is keeping her immaculate and keeping her prolapse sterile, covered, and moisened with a special veterinary application. This poor female Lab was dumped at in Inland shelter to die covered in mange and filth. They would not even do a skin scrape or treat her at all. She was slated for euthanasia instead of doing anything to ease her suffering. IndiLab was there for Sunday. Sunday is a beautiful girl with the sweetest disposition. She requires bloodwork, a skin scrape, a skin analysis, a thyroid test, a urinalysis, antibiotics, skin treatments, hollistic treatment and finally she will need her spay, vaccines, and microchip once she is well enought. We will boast her immune system in tandem with her medical treatment. She will be given regular medicated baths along with her other treatments to ease her red and swollen skin and itchyness. They would not even make her a rescue only dog!!!! Anything helps. Skip a coffee or movie or dinner. Or give more and be her sponsor. Our adoption donations only cover so much of the cost of medical for our dogs. Only donations can do that. Will you help? Call Vic Kasser or Email! If you take the time to find a good breeder and a healthy puppy, you will be so happy in the long run. There is less chance that you will have health problems in the long run, including behavioral problems of course this also deals with socialization of the puppy before 16 weeks and training. You will always have a friend in your breeder because they love to hear about their puppies. Luckily, many animal lovers are becoming aware that purchasing a dog-or any animal, for that matter-from a pet store is a big no-no. Almost all puppies sold at pet stores come from backyard breeders or puppy mills, where dogs are housed in cramped, filthy conditions without sufficient veterinary care, food, water and socialization. Furthermore, the breeding stock at puppy mills-the moms and dads-are bred as often as possible, for as long as possible, in order to increase profits. But a growing trend among commercial puppy breeders is to cut out the middleman-the pet shop-and use online retailing to get their dogs directly into your homes. Internet Puppy Scams Consumers trying to find dogs from reputable breeders or breed rescue groups often turn to the Web for advice. But they soon find themselves bombarded with elaborate websites offering the offspring of "champions. Don't be fooled: the Internet is a vast, unregulated marketplace allowing anyone to put up a website claiming anything. Scattered among the websites of reputable breeders and rescue groups, Internet puppy scammers attract potential buyers with endearing pictures and phony promises. However, the AWA does not regulate breeders that sell directly to the public. The AWA was passed in , prior to the Internet boom-lawmakers couldn't foresee that commercial breeders would someday have the ability to sell directly to the public via the Internet. This loophole allows some puppy mills to operate without a license and without fear of inspection-meaning they are not accountable to anyone for their breeding and care standards. The Scams An informal online survey conducted by the ASPCA reveals that just as many Americans are now purchasing their dogs over the Internet as buying from pet stores. That said, according to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, hundreds of complaints are filed every year from victims who were scammed when buying a dog online. What the consumer doesn't realize is that these are stock photos taken from a clip-art file-or simply stolen from other websites. In this scam, virtually all contact is done via email, and the puppy is typically shipped without the buyer ever seeing the dog in person. The scam is revealed when the dog is delivered and the buyer is faced not with the adorable puppy from the photos, but a sickly dog, often of a different color or with different markings. Scammers count on people feeling guilty or compassionate and choosing not to send the puppy back. They also resort to verbal deceit. With the "free to good home" scam, the perpetrator will often post a sad story of having to find homes for his purebred puppies immediately-he just lost his wife, they must be placed for a dying relative, he is going to Africa to be a missionary, etc. Buyers are asked to send all payments via a Western Union wire transfer or money order. These methods are favorites among scam artists because they are the equivalent of sending cash-the money can't be recovered by the victim. This scam is particularly heartbreaking because there is no real dog involved! Victims usually arrive at the airport to pick up their new puppy, only to find that they have been scammed. Unfortunately, this next scam preys on animal lovers who want to help dogs in need. In this scenario, the puppy mill will actually set up its website as a "rescue group" or "sanctuary," offering purebred puppies who have been rescued from shelters, bad breeders, even from puppy mills! Breed rescue groups charge nominal fees-usually no more than a few hundred dollars-because their goal is not to make money, but to find wonderful homes for their rescues. While many people believe AKC registration means their puppies came from reputable breeders, being AKC-registered means nothing more than your puppy's parents both had AKC papers. The fact is, many AKC-registered dogs are born in puppy mills. The best way to avoid being scammed is to simply never buy a dog you haven't met in person. Please also keep in mind that adoption is still the best option, even if you have your heart set on a purebred dog. There are thousands of dogs waiting for good homes at local animal shelters, including purebreds! Keep an eye on your local shelter, as purebreds turn up more often than people think. There are also a number of reputable breed rescue groups passionate about finding great homes for purebred dogs who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered to shelters. It's also important to note that the Internet is a very valuable tool for finding reputable breeders and breed rescue groups in your area. Reputable breeders and rescue groups will be more than happy to offer you a tour. A reputable breeder or rescue group will always take the puppy back, regardless of the reason. They leave that up to the discretion of the breeders. Doesn't that increase the chances of the pups from such a litter being genetic cesspools? Buy a pup from a breeder that has a "Genetic" and "Health" guarantee. Thanks NY 5 Thanks for your vote! I have every email and phone records to show how many times I tried to contact them with no reply. I just stated there was very poor communication. That same night, I was sent 3 nasty emails and bashed, bullied and degraded online. Someone reported her and her page was removed. Also a second time for the sales of puppies online. I know the litter was never registered as of September 12th .Any further contact will be from the AKC and my lawyer. I also filed a police report about them due to the massive slander with the West Allis, Wi police so I have a case number for that also. I never know if one of their many people they told nasty things about me will come and try to get my dog. I was asked to send my payment as a friend and was told cash upon delivery. A total of 7 people did not receive their papers from this litter and any puppies or in the past from the same dam or sire of my puppy. I hope to warn people that you don't get what you paid for. I had so many questions to ask them but will not speak to them ever again. I am 60 years old and honestly have never been treated with such disrespect in my life. My advice as someone else wrote in their review. They are not what they say they are. More Thanks for your vote! Report Not sure how to choose? I will absolutely be working with them again in the future when I'm ready for a sibling for my young pup. Thanks Skyler 2 Thanks for your vote! She is super friendly and helpful. I never would have imagined how overwhelming it could be to find the right frenchie for our family. Rose quickly put our worries and anxieties at ease with her vast knowledge, experience, as well as health guarantees. She is an amazing person who breeds amazing frenchies! I would highly recommend anyone interested in a French Bulldog to do themselves a favor and reach out to her. Thanks Jackie 3 Thanks for your vote! I put a hefty deposit on a Maltese and the entire litter died. She would not refund my money! She said I could have a Bichon Frise from the next litter. All boys were born. We agreed! She was obviously kept in a crate and not in the breeder's home as she claimed. We sent the dog to obedience school for 6 weeks to get her potty trained. We kept her for 5 months. I am still heartbroken. She is now in a good home where they can put up with that behavior. Karen Lorenz is a liar and a thief and the worst breeder! Does the AKC not mean anything? Report DR. Saratoga, CA Reviewed Sept. This thief sold me two dogs with hips and elbow problems. I have been waiting for AKC for months and never got them. Don't buy from him. Don't do business with him. He is a fraud. Thanks DR. Thanks Alexandra 10 Thanks for your vote! We were very skeptical about purchasing a puppy that was over 8 hrs away and having it shipped. So many scammers these days! After a little research and a phone call we were on our way! Paul and Joyce answered any and all questions we had. We are new to the breed. They assured us of their shipping method which was nothing short of professional! The first time we spoke was a Thurs evening. We received our puppy late Monday night. They text us to keep us updated every day! Sometimes 2 or 3 times a day with pictures! We received a happy, healthy, well socialized and clearly in the process of training 13 week old male! Highly recommend! Thanks Michelle 6 Thanks for your vote! Myka's story, this note is especially important to people looking for a reputable Shih Tzu breeder. Almost a year later Myka became extremely ill and was diagnosed with a congenital liver disease, requiring urgent and life-threatening major surgery. I rushed her to the specialty veterinary hospital in Vancouver and Myka survived the surgery although even now she still suffers from medical issues. I exchanged several medical reports with her. She offered a replacement puppy when one becomes available as per the two-year health guarantee against life threatening genetic defects clause in the sales contract. I declined as after caring and loving Myka for a year she has become part of the family and is not a commodity you return because it turned out to be defective. Had I taken her up on a replacement puppy, the breeder would have had to forego the revenue generated from the sale of that puppy. At that point all communication was blocked by Pam. Case closed! I will leave it up to the individual reader to form their own opinion about this unethical behavior, but must caution people when searching for a reliable Shih Tzu breeder. You know who NOT to buy from. Please feel free to share this far and wide. I asked was the puppy mixed due to her stripe in the center of the puppy face. That marking is most common on pitbulls. I was assured the puppy I purchased was a full bred Cane Corso. I performed a DNA test on the puppy and the results came back mixed breed. Cane Corso, Mastiff, pit, Rottweiler. I reached out to the breeder. I explained the results. The breeder asked for me to email DNA. It could also cause defects to the offspring. More I sent all the information to the breeder. I asked for a refund. The breeder refused to resolve the issue. Also DNA showed family history, where the mixing started. That also does not match what I have from the breeder. I called AKC, I was told to email a complaints with all evidence. After, they review everything they will contact seller and try to resolve the issue. I also have a contract I had to sign. The contracts states a Cane Corso purebred. I still need to reach out to ICCF. Report First.

How do you breed for a healthier English Bulldog? Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. What are the steps of your adoption process if I am located in North Carolina? Check out our available English Bulldog Puppies page. Erica and Mitch of Bruiser Bulldogs are just that. They are experienced, ethical and quality breeders. I was referred to them by my friend that I trust after I saw their gorgeous healthy puppy. Our Puppy Primrose is the light of our lives! Bruisers was there to assist us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Bruisers Bulldogs to anyone looking for their own happy, healthy pup! Leah H. We were lucky to have come across Bruiser Bulldogs and even more so the fact that they were near our family and hometown made it even better. We have had Clementine Callie for four months now, and she is a wonderful dog. Her personality is amazing, and I think part of it is breeding and the other part is Erika and her family lovingly raising the puppies in their home with plenty of attention and snuggles. I also was impressed that, rather than send the puppies out right at 8 weeks, Erika kept ours for a few extra weeks because she was tiny and not read to leave her mom yet. It's that care that differentiates Bruisers from other breeders. Emily R. Erica was easy to work with thru the entire process from application to adopting and now beyond as we host our new family member, Chief. Her on-call support and willingness to provide open, honest advice to all of our questions and concerns continues to be appreciated. We would highly recommend Bruiser Bulldogs to anyone looking for an English Bulldog to join their family. Elizabeth W. Lady L. They are experienced, responsive and knowledgeable about all things bulldog related. They went above and beyond for us and are truly dedicated to all of their pups! We love our little girl so much and would recommend Bruiser to anyone looking for a healthy beautiful bully. Jonathan E. Erica and Mitch are trustworthy, excellent communicators, fair, passionate, and produce the best bulldogs. We were at the top of the waiting list for months and Erica reached out every litter to see if we were finally ready for a bulldog. When we were, she was very easy to work with. Her knowledge on bulldogs is outstanding. We had many questions on the process and she always knew what was best for the puppy. We've had Penny formerly Blair for two months and she is very healthy, energetic, playful, and sweet. She is great with other people and dogs. We are so happy with our pup. When we are ready for bulldog 2, we will only consider Bruiser Bulldogs. Mitch C. Bowser was born April and is an integral part of our family. When we were first exploring English Bulldog breeders our biggest concern was the overall health of the dogs. We decided to work with Erica at Bruiser Bulldogs because we liked their focus on improving the breeds breathing abilities and the fact that the puppies are raised within her family environment before coming home with their new owners. Bowser also breaths clearly and our vet was impressed with his overall health from the moment we brought him home. All that said we know English Bulldogs have a predisposition to many health issues and that his current health can not predict the future. With that In mind its important to start with a breeder that open to answer any of your questions as Erica has ours, and that strongly believes in improving the breeds overall health profile. Adam B. My sister ended up finding Bruiser Bulldogs and we knew right away that they were the breeder for us. In September we ended up driving 9 hours to pick up two Bruiser bulldog puppies- one for my husband and I and one for my mom. Jackson and Penelope have been nothing but a joy. They are both very athletic and healthy. They are also HUGE snugglers and always want to be with you. It is an absolute pleasure having these two bullies in our lives! Erica is very knowledgeable about the breed. She is very hands on throughout the process and is just overall a kind and honest person to work with. With all that being said I cannot recommend Bruiser Bulldogs enough! Collyn C. One of the reasons we chose Bruiser Bulldogs was due to the claims about breeding for health. During our first visit at our vet's office, he told us that our pup was one of the healthiest English bulldogs he had ever seen. He is healthy, happy and social. Would recommend to anyone. Christina S. We seen our dog on their website and sent them an Email. Mitch called us and personally walked us through the process and made sure we had the right dog for our family. We couldn't be happier when we picked up our dog Ramsey, Erica made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They are truly amazing people who breed truly amazing dogs! Jim T. We are breeders of English Bulldogs in beautiful western North Carolina. A few times a year we have quality English Bulldog puppies for sale to pet and show homes. Click here to see the available babies. Click here to see the litters due. English Bulldogs are special. English Bulldogs are different. Those of us who have had English Bulldogs for several years still remember our first English Bulldog and how much we didn't know about English Bulldogs. All of the information below is from years of researching the English Bulldog on the internet, reading books and journals, and over 15 years of breeding and raising English Bulldogs. This information can be helpful in solving minor problems, but always consult your veterinarian before treating even the simplest problem with your English Bulldog. Like all babies, the English Bulldog puppy needs lots of love and cuddling, lots of rest and sleep, lots of good, nourishing food and more love and cuddling. Moving to a new home, leaving his dam and litter mates and the only humans your English Bulldog puppy has ever really known is a very traumatic experience for English Bulldog puppies, so try to make the move as easy as possible for your English Bulldog puppy. For the first couple of weeks, try not to change your English Bulldog puppy's life style if at all possible. Follow the English Bulldog breeders feeding routine. The same times, the same amount, the same brand of food, and the same supplements , if any. Feed your English Bulldog puppy in the same place at each meal. Be sure your English Bulldog puppy has a special area all his own for his bed. Give your English Bulldog puppy lots and lots of cuddling and petting. Please try to find a veterinarian that understands the English Bulldog, English Bulldogs are at a higher risk to anesthetize that snouted breeds so be sure that the veterinarian you have chosen is aware of this fact at least, try to only have your English Bulldog put under when absolutely necessary. English Bulldogs also have very shallow joint sockets and a veterinarian that is unfamiliar with English Bulldogs may not only misdiagnose joint problems but may also see you as a license to print money. Almost every English Bulldog will have a slightly elongated soft palate which is why they snore, so be aware - if your veterinarian informs you that he needs to resection the soft palate this may not be the case at all. English Bulldogs with severe soft palate problems will overheat easily, find it very difficult to cope with any form of exercise and may regurgitate their food. If there are other English Bulldog owners in your area ask them who they go to and at least ask your veterinarian what his English Bulldog experience is. When an English Bulldog puppy goes into a vets office, everybody in there flocks to you to get a closer look or to pet the English Bulldog puppy. Try not to make any drastic changes, gradual is better, and always try to make it a fun time for your English Bulldog puppy If you want to change the brand of puppy food your English Bulldog puppy is eating, the change should be slow and gradual. Substitute a small amount of the old food with the new brand and slowly increase the ratio of new to old until the old brand is completely replaced with the new. Here at My Baby Bullies health is our 1 goal. We give all of our Bulldogs NuVet Plus vitamin wafers everyday to insure that they are healthy. Our babies get all the protection from the time they are conceived to insure a healthy start in life. We strongly recommend that you continue giving the NuVet Plus vitamin wafers for the life of your new puppy. We feel so strongly about this product that we have incorporated it into our health guarantee! Most English Bulldog breeders feed a two to four month old English Bulldog puppy four times a day. At this age the dry food is usually softened with warm water. There are several good brands of puppy food on the market, if you are not satisfied with the food your English Bulldog puppy is eating, try another brand. You want a puppy food your English Bulldog puppy likes and which produces a nice coat, keeps your English Bulldog puppy round but not obese, and produces solid stools. You may feed your English Bulldog puppy on a set schedule, or have food available to him at all times. Your English Bulldog puppy will flourish under either regimen. The choice depends on which is more convenient for you. How much you feed him depends on the English Bulldog puppy. In most cases, a growing English Bulldog puppy which gets sufficient exercise should eat as much as it wants. If your English Bulldog puppy does become obese, you may need to regulate the amount he eats, but DO NOT put a growing English Bulldog puppy on a severely restricted diet unless it is supervised by a veterinarian who is knowledgeable about English Bulldog puppies. From four to six months an English Bulldog puppy's feeding regimen should remain the same but the number of feedings may be reduced to three. At about six months this number can be reduced to two. In most cases continue feeding the puppy as much as he wants. How often you feed an English Bulldog one year or more old depends on your preference and your English Bulldog. Most English Bulldogs do well on one meal a day. Some do better on two meals a day. You may prefer to feed in the morning or the evening. This is up to you. If you like it and your English Bulldog likes it, it's the right way. An English Bulldog usually eats puppy food until it is at least one year old. If your English Bulldog is thriving on puppy food and not getting to overweight, leave him on it until he is at least two years old. You can feed your English Bulldog puppy food all his life, if it agrees with him. Most English Bulldogs are changed from puppy to adult food at around twelve to eighteen months. It is best to change to the adult version of the puppy food you have been feeding your English Bulldog. It does not hurt your English Bulldog to change from one brand of dog food to another and then to another and so on as long as each change is done by gradually, substituting more and more of the new brand for the old. Never make a drastic change in his eating habits or in his food. If your English Bulldog is spayed or neutered or as it ages and becomes less active, you may need to start feeding a reduced calorie dog food to keep your English Bulldog from becoming too fat. Most good brands of dog food have a "lo-fat" reduced calorie version. Again, it's best if you stay with the same brand you've been feeding your English Bulldog and change to the "lo-fat" version. Whatever its age, your English Bulldog should have cool fresh water available at all times. The most common supplements are cottage cheese, yogurt and oil. Cottage cheese is especially good for growing English Bulldog puppies since the English Bulldog must grow a lot of heavy bone in a short time. Give your English Bulldog about a tablespoon per feeding. Yogurt helps to keep the digestive system of your English Bulldog working well, about a teaspoon per feeding. Oil helps to keep the coat and skin of your English Bulldog in good condition, about a teaspoon twice a day. All vegetable or canola oil is best - do not give your English Bulldog any oil which contains soybean oil. You may also give your English Bulldog a vitamin supplement. DO NOT over dose. If the directions say "one a day", two is not better. You may also give your English Bulldog a vitamin C tablet - units per day. Supplements to be very careful with are Vitamins E, D and A. Overdoses of these can cause trouble for your English Bulldog. If you plan to breed a female English Bulldog, vitamin B complex, including folic acid, is recommended, but again be careful not to overdose your English Bulldog. Treats for your English Bulldog should usually be dog treats without any soy. It won't hurt your English Bulldog to give him an occasional bite of meat, vegetables, fruit, soda crackers, ice cream, etc. We were shocked to say the least at where some manufactures get the ingredients used and we as consumers were poisoning our beloved animals. So to make sure we knew exactly what we were feeding our English Bulldogs we decided that we would cook for our English Bulldogs as well as our other pets! English Bulldog Equipment There are several things which will make life easier and more enjoyable for you and your English Bulldog. First in importance is a wire crate. This comes very close to being a necessity for English Bulldogs. It is much easier to house train an English Bulldog puppy if he sleeps in a crate. If you travel at all with your English Bulldog, he is more safe and happier riding in a crate. If you are staying overnight your English Bulldog has a place of his own to sleep in. It is just as important for your English Bulldog to be in a crate in the car as it is for you to wear your seat belt. If you do not have a crate, or one won't fit into your car, get your English Bulldog a dog safety car harness. English Bulldogs like to have a special "my place" so if you don't have a crate, try one, you and your English Bulldog will like it. If you travel with your English Bulldog you'll need a large insulated water jug so that you'll have "home" water available for him. A small water pan that hooks to the side of his crate is ideal for traveling. A rocking chair or a really comfortable big chair you can sit in and cuddle your new English Bulldog puppy, this makes for great bonding time with your new English Bulldog puppy. A food dish with straight sides and flat bottom. The best material is stainless steel - avoid plastic with English Bulldogs whenever possible. A water dish, stainless steel is best again for English Bulldogs. A collar and a lead. A light weight, small link "choke" collar is best for an English Bulldog puppy. It should be long enough to slip over the English Bulldog puppy's head with room to spare but should not have more than a six inch "tail" when around his neck. The English Bulldog puppy's first lead should be a light weight one, you'll need a strong leather lead as he grows into an adult English Bulldog. A grooming table makes brushing, nail trimming, whisker clipping, medication, etc. Start your English Bulldog puppy out young and he'll soon learn to stand still with his neck in the noose and your life will be much easier. A puppy pen. Even though you have a fenced yard, you may want to confine your English Bulldog puppy to or out of a particular area. Puppy pens are easily portable and very handy for keeping an English Bulldog puppy confined to a small area. They are especially useful for a winter English Bulldog puppy. You can put his bed in his crate, put the crate in a puppy pen and put his pee-pee pads in a corner of the pen. If you plan to exhibit your English Bulldog you will need a pair of whisker scissors. These are small, sharp, blunt end scissors which you can purchase from a pet store, a dog show vendor or a dog supply catalog. A good brush. You can use almost any brush on an English Bulldog but the best ones have flexible rubber bristles. You want one small enough to fit your hand comfortably. Lemon Juice- If your English Bulldog gets phlegm in his throat and chokes on it, a couple squirts of juice from the plastic lemon will help clear it out. Clear Eyes, Visine, etc. Aspirin- For minor aches and pains. Most English Bulldogs can tolerate aspirin but do not give any other human pain reliever such as Tylenol or Advil. Remember that the dosage for aspirin, like most pain relief medication, is based primarily on body weight. An English Bulldog should never be given more than one tablet at a time or more frequently than every twelve hours. Some English Bulldogs are allergic to aspirin, so only use aspirin under the advise and care of a veterinarian. Benadryl- Either capsule or liquid. Use this if the English bulldog is stung by a bee or other insect, and for minor English Bulldog allergies as recommended by your veterinarian. Panalog Ointment- A good all purpose ointment for minor English Bulldog skin afflictions. Also good for cleaning English Bulldog wrinkles, tail pockets and ears. Bag Balm- Also useful for minor English Bulldog skin afflictions. Pepto Bismol- For minor stomach upset of your English Bulldog. Q-tips- Use for applying medication and cleaning your English Bulldogs ears. Cotton balls- Use for applying medication, for cleaning and to keep the ears of your English Bulldog dry while bathing. Even English Bulldog puppies can tear a piece off the rawhide and choke on it. English Bulldog Puppies like knotted socks to shake and play tug of war with. They also like Nylabone and rubber toys. Many English Bulldog puppies like to play with balls, but be sure the ball is too big to lodge in the throat or be swallowed. Most English Bulldogs love the Kong toys, and you can fill them with treats and watch your English Bulldog play for hours. English Bulldog puppies like cotton tug toys but be careful not to let the stuffing of any toy be swallowed by your English Bulldog puppy. Some people give their English Bulldog puppies and adult English Bulldogs Choo-Hooves and English Bulldogs really like them, but be cautious with these. They are an "only when I can watch you" English Bulldog toy. The only real difference between the toys for an English Bulldog puppy and the toys for an adult English Bulldog is size. Always discard any toy that you think your English Bulldog might swallow! Your English Bulldog should be thoroughly brushed at least three times a week. Most English Bulldogs love to be brushed. Use a soft bristle or rubber brush. Start at the rear and brush against the hair. After you've brushed the entire English Bulldog against the grain, brush it with the grain. Follow this with a good rub down. During shedding time, spring and fall, you may need to brush your English Bulldog more often, give more frequent rubdowns. The idea is to remove the dead hair and distribute the natural oils produced by your English Bulldog. Bathing Your English Bulldog An English Bulldog that receives frequent brushings and rubdowns does not need frequent bathing. Most English Bulldog owners bathe their English Bulldogs when the dog is dirty - when it obviously needs a bath. Of course, if you are exhibiting your English Bulldog he needs a bath before he goes to the show. An English Bulldog in the show ring should be clean and well groomed. Where do you bathe an English Bulldog? Any place you want to and can! Some people have a big deep sink, some use the bath tub, some use the kitchen sink, in the summer some wash their English Bulldog on the lawn. I prefer the Booster Bath, your English Bulldog can walk right up the ramp which also doubles as a booster for puppies and saves your back from stooping down to bathe your English Bulldog. You need a place where you can control your English Bulldog, where you can easily control the water supply and where you can rinse your English Bulldog thoroughly and the Booster Bath provides all of this for you. It's a good idea, especially with a puppy, to take the dog outside to "potty" just before you bathe him. Gather up all the things you will need to bathe your English Bulldog before you start. You will need: a mild tear-free shampoo, any rinses you plan to use, cotton balls, Q-tips, eye ointment or mineral oil, Vaseline, wash cloth, and towels. Most use a special whitening shampoo for white English Bulldogs. You may on occasion need to use a flea shampoo but since these are quite harsh, don't use one on your English Bulldog unless you really need to. Put a couple of drops of mineral oil or a bit of eye ointment in the eyes of your English Bulldog and place a cotton ball securely in each ear before you wet your English Bulldog. Wet your English Bulldog thoroughly from just behind the ears to the tips of the toes on his hind legs. Be sure his underside of your English Bulldog is wet, too, not just the top and sides. Apply the shampoo starting at the neck of your English Bulldog and working back. Work the shampoo in to be sure you get all the way through the hair to the skin of your English Bulldog. Pay special attention to the paws of your English Bulldog wash between the toes , his tail clean all around the base , and the genital area. On a female, be especially careful to clean the vulva. Put some shampoo on the washcloth and wash your English Bulldog's face. Wash the wrinkles over the nose, on the forehead, around the nose and under the eyes. Wash his nose. Wash his ears, inside and out. Now rinse. Rinse until you are sure every bit of your English Bulldog, especially in the wrinkles and tight places, is thoroughly rinsed and there is no shampoo left any place. If you are applying a rinse to your English Bulldog, do it now, following the manufactures instructions. For a white English Bulldog, you can use a rinse of 4 Tbsp. Mix enough bluing into the water to get a darkish blue not black. Pour the bluing mixture over your white English Bulldog and work in with your fingertips. Do not rinse off the solution. Do not towel dry, let your white English bulldog drip dry. For red dogs, try VO5 Henna Conditioner. Dry your English Bulldog with towels. Take the cotton balls out of your English Bulldog's ears and clean any wax carefully using a dry Q-Tip or one with a dab of Panalog. Rub a dab of Vaseline onto his nose to help keep it soft. You can then let your English Bulldog air dry or use a hair dryer to finish the drying. It's best to keep the English Bulldog inside until it is completely dry - about two hours. English Bulldog Nails Most English Bulldogs need their nails cut on a regular basis - about every two weeks. The nails should be kept as short as possible on your English Bulldog. You may use dog nail clippers or an electric grinder. Most English Bulldog owners use the clippers, either guillotine or scissors type. Which type you use on your English Bulldog is up to you, but they should be sharp. When the blade begins to dull, replace it or buy new clippers - dull blades can be painful to your English Bulldog. Each English Bulldog owner seems to have a different way to clip nails. Find the way that works best for you. The important thing is to be able to control your English Bulldog so that you do not hurt it. A grooming table is probably the best way to control your English Bulldog. On white nails you can see where the quick begins. On black nails cut just to the curve of the nail. Clippers usually leave a rough edge, so a good dog nail file to smooth them off will work fine. If you use en electric grinder, be very, very careful not to grind into the quick. The main thing is to make the experience as pleasant as possible for your English bulldog so be really careful when cutting nails and don't cut into the quick. If your English Bulldog takes frequent walks on pavement or concrete sidewalks, it will usually wear the nails down, so again, be careful, there may not be very much nail to cut. Especially the black nails which seem to wear more than the white ones. English Bulldog Wrinkles English Bulldogs tend to have messy face wrinkles. The older your English Bulldog gets, the messier the wrinkles. How often you clean these wrinkles depends on your English Bulldog itself. Some English Bulldogs do very well if you clean the wrinkles a couple of times a week. Some English Bulldogs need it on a daily basis. When you clean the wrinkles, wash his nose and apply a good rub of Vaseline to keep it soft. It's better to clean your English Bulldog more often than you think you need to than not to clean your English Bulldog often enough. You can clean the wrinkles of your English Bulldog with a soft, damp cloth and then dry. Or you can wash them using the shampoo you use to bathe your English Bulldog. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and dry thoroughly. One of the best ways is to wipe the wrinkles of your English Bulldog clean is with Baby Wipes with lanolin and aloe. Whatever method you use to clean the wrinkles of your English Bulldog, be sure to get the deep nose wrinkle clean. You may need to put a soothing ointment in the deep nose wrinkle of some English Bulldogs. If it is irritated, Panalog will help to heal. Diaparene Ointment will soothe and dry the wrinkle, but this contains zinc oxide, so before you apply it to your English Bulldog, rub Vaseline into his nose. Allot of English Bulldogs have "tear stains" of varying degrees of color. If the stain is bad on your English Bulldog, in addition to cleaning you may want to try to remove the stain. There are many treatments out there and you may have to try several before you find one that works for you and your English Bulldog. You can make a paste of 1 Tbsp. Hydrogen Peroxide and enough corn starch to make a thin paste some English Bulldog owners add I Tbsp. Milk of Magnesia to the hydrogen peroxide and mix the cornstarch into that mixture. Apply to the tear stain on your English Bulldog, let it dry, and brush off the excess. Apply on a daily basis until the stain is gone from your English Bulldog, then weekly to keep stain from returning. Another method is to rub the stain with a cotton ball soaked in Boric Acid. Another remedy is rubbing a dab of Desitin into the stain to help keep it dry. Whatever you use be sure not to get it in the eyes of your English Bulldog. Fleas on your English Bulldog The best way to treat fleas on your English Bulldog is to prevent them. Some English Bulldogs are allergic to flea saliva and can develop really serious skin problems so try to keep your English Bulldog free of fleas. Frequent brushing of your English Bulldog is the first defense. Frequently changed bedding is very important. Flea collars are not very effective and many English Bulldogs cannot wear them. If you do use one, do not put one on a wet or damp English Bulldog and do not allow the English Bulldog to wear a wet collar this includes letting the English Bulldog out in the rain with its flea collar on. You may need to give your English Bulldog a bath with a good flea shampoo or use an anti-flea rinse when you bathe. The chemicals used in these shampoos are harsh and allot of English Bulldogs have sensitive skin so use them only when necessary and follow instructions carefully. There are various types of flea shampoos, dips, and sprays, since these really are medications, it's a good idea to at least begin with ones from your veterinarian or that have been specifically recommended by an experienced English Bulldog owner in your area. Avon Skin so Soft mixed in the rinse water of your English Bulldog is an effective, non-irritating flea deterrent used by several English Bulldog owners. You can also use the Skin so Soft mixed with an equal part of water in a spray bottle, or, if you feel that's a bit too strong, try two capfuls in a pint spray bottle. This will also help to repel mosquitoes and ticks from your English Bulldog. Above all else, a clean environment for your English Bulldog, especially his bed, is the best flea prevention. Bedding Bedding material used for English Bulldogs ranges from a wide variety of man-made materials to special dog beds of all types and prices. The most common bedding for an English Bulldog is cotton rugs or blankets which can be washed with ease. Don't pamper your English Bulldog with a wicker dog bed. An English Bulldog will destroy it with his massive jaws and it really isn't a good thing for an English Bulldog to eat. The fake sheepskin rugs available from most pet stores and dog catalogs make good beds for English Bulldogs as they are soft and wash and dry very easily. The important thing for bedding is that it be easily washable and provide a soft nesting area for your English Bulldog. We'll assume you're ok with this, but you can opt-out if you wish. Over the years, there have been numerous stories of lost dogs that have found their way home, and some of these are quite extraordinary. So, your chances of finding your lost doggo are pretty high, which comes down to how dogs are naturally quite capable of finding their way home. They do this by: Sense of smell. German Shepherds are known to have a strong sense of smell. They use their nose to sniff out familiar scents in their neighborhood. They can pick up their own scent markers and those left by other dogs and people. Visual skills. Navigation using magnetic fields. This exciting study found that dogs that decided to scout chose a completely new route started their journey back along the north-south axis regardless of the homeward direction. German Shepherds are excellent tracking dogs, hence why their nose skills are used in law enforcement and in search and rescue. German Shepherds are super intelligent and have a powerful sense of smell. And if you want to find your dog, you have to play to his strengths, meaning you have to rely on this sense of smell. At the same time, you may want to increase the odds of encountering your dog. To find a lost German Shepherd, you need to set an anchor point where you place an item with a familiar scent, such as your clothing or a toy. Get help to search the area. While the above covers what you need to do on a broader level, there are three distinct methods of raising the odds in your favor when looking for a lost dog. These are covered below in detail. The understanding is simply that if they wait long enough, the group will return to the area where the missing individual is anchored and find them. The same principle can work with a dog. With the stimuli and environment changing with each trip, camping adventure, or long-stay visit, you cannot expect your German Shepherd to internalize too many anchor points. The rationale here is that once the smell of other scents wears off from the surroundings and your German Shepherd wants to find you, he shall rely on the scented item and sit by it. And dogs who are taught how to pick up scents and track are better at this than those who may have to pick up your scent and find the anchor point out of instinct. I understand that you are worried about your German Shepherd and hope to feed him even if it takes you some time to find him, but putting food next to the anchor spot only advertises it to other dogs and even predators. There are several stories of dogs returning to a familiar scented item in the woods after days of going missing. German Shepherds have an impeccable sense of smell, and since your doggo misses you, the chances of him finding the item and sitting beside it are quite high. The idea is to make sure you anchor inaccessible spots throughout the park, neighborhood, or gated community and call for your dog. You may be tempted to move quickly, covering the entire area. If your German Shepherd runs towards a specific spot and you move on to the next, it will only draw out the process further. Give each area a solid five minutes. Stand firmly in place and shout for him. There can be some delay between you calling out and the dog finding you. Five minutes provide that buffering time. If you hear barking, continue to call out without moving. Soon, your doggo will join you. If you only move a few steps ahead, you might be wasting the next few minutes. This allows you to cover more distance with fewer repetitions. You must operate under the assumption that he has gone on a self-guided walk and slowly taken the same route you usually take your dog. The idea here is that you might cross paths with him if you walk along the same way. This works well towards the front end of the route but starts tapering its effectiveness towards the end. After all, when was the last time your German Shepherd was enthusiastic about turning around and going back? It is advisable to mix this strategy with the call-out method, especially at the tail-end of your route. Once you reach the farthest point of your daily walk route, standing for five minutes and calling out while listening for barking can be an excellent way to increase the likelihood of finding your dog. Many people generally want to help but adding a reward can incentivize them to search intentionally. This works well in a suburban setting. But if you live in a more populous location, you might also need to leverage social media. There are numerous lost dog websites where you can advertise your lost dog. The mission of these sites is to reuniting dogs with their owners. Many are free but appreciate a donation that helps run the site. Posting in Facebook groups is a great way to get people from a specific neighborhood, county, or borough looking for your German Shepherd. Another way to get the word out is by making a personal post on your profile with pictures of your dog. Reduce the Risk — Preventative Measures To further increase the success of finding your lost German Shepherd, there are some preventative steps you can take. Have your dog wear a collar tag. Start by having his name and your phone number engraved on the tag. If your German Shepherd wears a harness, many have the option to be embroidered with personalized details. Microchip your German Shepherd. Although still voluntary in the US, it is law in some countries, such as the UK. Dog GPS tracker. I recommend investing in a pet GPS tracker for even greater security. Many of these devices also double as health and fitness trackers. The most common reason for a German Shepherd to run away is to explore the surrounding. However, in some cases, it can also be the sign of a heat cycle or found prey around that needs to be hunted. When lost, a dog can survive anywhere between a few hours and ten days, depending on the availability of food sources, awareness of the surroundings, and comfort in the new environment. Some dogs that are new to the external environment suffer excessively with respect to their survival and can even shed weight out of anxiety and fear. It is essential that you remain methodical in your approach and calmly execute each seek-and-search method till you have your dog back in your arms. Related Posts You May Like:. On the day, Sheba's family waited eagerly for the plane carrying their beloved dog from the Texas panhandle to land, even decorating the airport with a poster that read, "Welcome home Sheba. In January of that year, someone stole Sheba from the Malmstrom family's front yard. The family searched their neighborhood near Houston and beyond in hopes of recovering the dogs, but never had any luck figuring out who took the dog or where she ended up. It was really sad when we had to keep searching for her but we never found her," said Anniston Malmstrom to CBS Austin, who was only 3 years old when Sheba was taken. All of that changed on Aug. Harper scanned the dog, who he found roaming around alone, for a microchip and found one loaded with the Malmstrom family's contact information. Sheba recognized her family after just a few minutes, CBS Austin reported. They're so excited, and I don't think my 8-year-old understands that you can cry when you're happy," said Stephanie to CBS Austin. Stephanie added that Sheba remembers all the commands the family taught her before her disappearance. Now back in her original home, Sheba is spending time reconnecting with her family, CBS Austin reported. Related Articles. The test is only recommended for predisposed breeds, but can be performed on DNA samples from any dog, collected through swabbing the inside of the animal's cheek with a sterile cotton swab. Prospective German Shepherd buyers can now request the test from the breeder or buy from a breeder who is known to test their dogs. An Apricot Mini Labradoodle my puppy Max! Fried chicken is a hue of brown, so the dogs on our list have that coat color. Usually, those are your reddish brown dogs, which one might also refer to as apricot. Light brown and curly Goldendoodle puppy sitting in a basket. Tight curls work best because they look like ridges from afar. Fried Chicken or Puppy? Without further ado, here are our top five dog breeds that look like fried chicken: 1. Poodle It only makes sense to start with the breed that makes it possible—the Poodle. These dogs have curly coats that often look fluffy, and they come in various sizes as well. Labradoodle Starting with the breed that makes it possible, we now arrive at the dog that looks most like fried chicken—the Labradoodle. It is a mix of a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. Their curls are so defined that it looks just like you took them from a bucket of extra crispy chicken from your favorite restaurant. Irish Doodle The Irish Doodle is another breed that looks like a piece of fried chicken. Irish Setter and Poodle are the parent dog breeds of an Irish Doodle. Irish Setters are breeds endowed with red coats, a perfect color for fried chicken. Consequently, you end up with a pup with a thick coat of curly ringlets that can be cream, red, brown, or apricot. Remember that their coats can be curly or wavy, but the tighter the curls, the better. Interestingly, the Poochon inherits the curly hair trait from both parent dogs. Consequently, Poochons have a great chance of looking like fried chicken. Poochon stands on the grass at the park. This Poodle mix typically makes puppies cream, tan, and apricot in color. However, since the fur color of a Bichon Frise is white, your Poochon depends on the Poodle parent tremendously for their color. To maximize your chances of your pup looking like fried chicken, search for a puppy whose parent Poodle is a darker color. Cockapoo Another dog that looks like a crispy piece of fried chicken is the Cockapoo —a Cocker Spaniel and Poodle mix. Two happy Cockapoos running! The Cockapoo has an assortment of colors , including black, chocolate, apricot, red, white, and golden. Additionally, there are other patterns such as phantom, parti, tricolor, and merle. For example, your Labradoodle simply lying or sitting on the couch or floor may not take the shape of fried chicken, so you may have to improvise. It may give people the impression of fried chicken cooking on a grill at first glance. Or, you might try purchasing a round white blanket and placing all your newborn pups strategically. The common traits among these breeds are their curly and reddish-brown fur. Lastly, the Poodle lineage is the final component that these breeds have in common. Because Poodles pass that curly hair trait, they make up the bulk of fried chicken dog breeds. When you combine this curly trait with the distinct coloring of the other dog breeds , you create a litter of puppies that look just like fried chicken. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. Posted across Twitter and Reddit multiple times in recent days, the picture is believed to have originated from the Facebook page of a pet store in Pingtung, Taiwan. In the picture, four adorable puppies are seen inside a cage. With one fluffy white dog and three orange fluffy puppies that viewers have likened to fried chicken. Referencing all four puppies in the picture, one Twitter user said: "I will take the 3 'lil chickens and the fluffy mashed potatoes, to go, please. A resurfaced viral picture of puppies that look amazingly like fried nuggets has delighted the internet. One user wrote: "When I saw the picture, I honestly thought the title was gonna say: this fried chicken looks like puppies. I thought this was fried chicken pic. The Doodle was created by an Australian veterinarian who wanted to create a dog that could assist humans with allergies. Particularly popular for this reason, their curly coats make them more allergen-friendly thanks to minimal shedding. Whether Labradoodle —Poodle and Labrador or Goldendoodle—Poodle and Golden Retriever, the dogs have soared in popularity in recent years. But it is important to remember that no dogs can be truly hypoallergenic. This is because allergens are carried in dander, saliva, and urine and so are impossible to escape. It is always advised to spend time around the breed before deciding to bring one into your home. Another commenter on the viral puppy picture said: "Forbidden chicken," while another wrote: "I actually thought these were stuffies made to look like chicken. Now I'm hungry. By Beth Satterfield Dogs are like garbage disposals because and Goldendoodles are not always an exception they will eat just about anything you give them! However, you should not feed them several foods. The question we must ask now is can a Goldendoodle eat chicken, or is that a bad idea? Chicken is not bad for Goldendoodles. Goldendoodles can sometimes have sensitive stomachs, which means they need a well-balanced diet of good fats and proteins. If a dog is sensitive to chicken, cut it from its diet. Naturally, if you are a good dog owner you want to do whatever is the very best for your Goldendoodle which includes feeding it the best food that is available. But the question is, what food is the best for your Goldendoodle? Below you will find some info on what kind of food is good for Goldendoodles and hopefully will help you to determine what kind of food you should be feeding your canine friend. What Can My Goldendoodle Eat? Because they are such high-energy dogs, they are extremely active and therefore will burn a lot more fat. Since this is the case, they can afford to have a much larger fat quantity in their diet since they burn it off so quickly. Vets and other dog experts would recommend that you feed your dog a commercial dog food diet. A lot of people opt to make their own dog food to make it healthier for their pets, but because commercial dog foods are expertly prepared, they are most likely to have the correct balance of nutrients that a Goldendoodle needs every day. Chicken is a great source of both fat and protein. It is very lean meat that will give your dog a good boost every day. However, you cannot allow your doodle to eat chicken bones because they are small and thin enough that they become a major choking hazard. You should do your best to purchase dog food that is rich in vitamins and nutrients and low in GMOs and sugars. Good dog food is often somewhat expensive, but you might find that the cost is worth it. Aside from feeding your dog a good brand of dog food, there are a couple of snack options you could probably afford to give them for a healthy supplemental boost in their day. You should probably avoid processed human foods and large amounts of human foods altogether, but there are a few you may want to give a try. Feeding dogs vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and sweet potatoes can give them a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals. You can also feed them healthy proteins such as salmon, eggs, peanut butter, and pork. All of these things are fine for dogs to consume and can even give them a boost in their health. Grains are a must as well! Popcorn has a few vitamins but not as much nutrition. Unfortunately, there are a few foods out there that dogs ought to avoid at all costs. As most dog owners know, any kind of sugar should generally be avoided for dogs. Chocolate is probably one of the worst kinds that you can feed to dogs. Even, and especially, unsweetened, chocolate can cause problems as severe as swelling and internal bleeding. This is usually only the case when dogs ingest dark and unsweetened chocolate. When your Goldendoodle ingests sweetened milk chocolate, it will likely exhibit symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. You will have to be careful with feeding your Goldendoodle certain types of fruit as well. Grapes and raisins, for example, are filled with things that can be toxic to dogs in general and should thus be avoided. Apples, too, contain certain toxins that had best be avoided by canines. This includes the pits, stems, and seeds of said fruits as well. While some vegetables like carrots and broccoli are safe for dogs to ingest, there are others like avocados, onions, and garlic that should never be fed to dogs. Each of these things contains toxins. Onions and garlic are potent enough that dogs will stay away from them, but avocados will have to be more religiously avoided. Goldendoodles cannot be allowed to consume alcohol, tea, or coffee in any amount. Any of these things will make your dog extremely sick. Tea and coffee contain large amounts of caffeine which dogs are unable to metabolize properly. With the social distancing in place if you plan to do this having the product shipped is ideal currently. But once things get back to normal we recommend looking at bulk purchasing and checking with local butchers, etc for scraps, etc to save money if you plan to do this long term. Whether your dog has medical problems or not, you need to always tell your veterinarian that your dog eats a homemade food. Submit Your Homemade Dog Food Recipe To Be Featured If you have a homemade dog food recipe or raw diet recipe you would like to share with our Goldendoodle community and are a veterinarian or accredited breeder and have a recommended recipe or dog food diet please shoot us a direct message over on our Facebook community page. This can depend on many factors and could vary based on color variations such as lilac merle, tri merle, etc. In this guide, we cover all Merle English bulldog prices so you can get an idea of how much to pay. How Much is a Merle English Bulldog? What are Merle English Bulldogs? Why are They So Expensive? Merle English Bulldogs have an incompletely dominant M gene which dilutes dark colors. Therefore, these dogs end up with a marbled or mottled appearance wherein there is a true basic color and a paler color in the diluted parts. As mentioned earlier, there are several variations in the merle pattern — so you could have blue merle, lilac merle, tri merle, chocolate merle, etc. Although the AKC does not recognize merle English bulldogs, these dogs are in great demand. The reason why Merle English bulldogs are so expensive is due to their beauty, rarity, and uniqueness. The merle coloring creates random patches and patterns that are unique to each dog. No two merle puppies are the same, even in the same litter. Moreover, merle English bulldogs often have light-colored eyes or blue-grey eyes that make them look gorgeous. Since people want rare and beautiful pets, merle English bulldogs are in high demand. This demand has led breeders to breed specifically for the merle pattern. Many breeders even aim for beautiful merle patterns like red merle, sable merle, lilac merle, etc. Merle-colored English Bulldogs are also rare — as they are not recognized by various kennel clubs and are not allowed to participate in dog shows. Therefore, many English bulldog breeders who breed only show-quality pups refrain from breeding them. There are also some general factors that affect puppy prices: Other Factors Affecting Merle English Bulldog Price Coat Colors As mentioned earlier, merle English bulldogs often come with beautiful color variations in them and these can even cost higher. We will cover the costs of these Merle English Bulldog variations later in this guide. Often they are potty trained, socialized with kids and other dogs, and have even received some basic obedience training. In short: these confident little pups are ready for going to their forever homes. People are willing to pay higher for trained English bulldogs and breeders are more than ready to oblige. Pedigree and Bloodlines Pups with superior bloodlines cost much more than those born to bulldogs who are not registered or champions and title owners. Naturally, merle bulldogs are only born to merle bulldogs but there may be outcrosses too. Do note that merle genetics could result in deaf and blind pups. Ethical breeders may conduct genetic tests and health checks to ensure healthy merle puppies. Breeder Reputation Top breeders often charge a lot more just on the basis of their reputation and popularity. This is because of the fact that they have spent time, money, and effort in breeding unique merle-colored Bulldogs. As stated before, they even conduct health checks on the breeding dogs to rule out vision-and-hearing-related issues in the pups. Let us now discuss the prices of different variations of Merle English bulldogs. You typically will see colors like gold-brown, black, fawn, etc. There may be a marbled or mottled appearance on the back, face, and belly. Sable Merle English Bulldog Price Sable coloring in dogs usually means black color with lighter roots. In some dogs, the sable coloring takes the appearance of brown color. With the merle gene, there is a marbled pattern with brown, light brown, grey, or tan appearance. Chocolate Merle English Bulldog These dogs have a lovely deep brown base coat with a lighter color pattern sprinkled randomly on the back and the paws. The face typically has large patches of white, cream, brown, or black. The belly and chest could have white or tan coloring. The chocolate tri merle coloring is very rare which has increased its demand and, hence, the price. These bulldogs have randomly placed stripes of chocolate brown interrupting the base coat color. It is caused by a recessive gene and breeders breed selectively to get puppies having a purplish sheen on their coats. These dogs often have bluish or grey-blue eyes. Lilac tri merle English bulldog puppies are very much in demand. Some of these dogs have light eyes and sometimes, one eye is dark and the other is light. Blue Merle English Bulldog Price A white base with gray or dark gray mottling can create a bluish appearance resulting in the beautiful blue merle English Bulldog. These beautiful dogs often have the blue merle pattern all over the back and hind legs. The front legs may be solid colored — typically white — and the belly is white as well. There also may be white patches on the face and head. Blue merle bulldogs are rare, so breeders often grab the opportunity to charge higher for them. Blue Tri Merle English Bulldog Price In blue tri-merle English bulldogs, you will see colors like blue, black, brown, white, fawn, grey, and tan. Coat Color. This enchanting appearance sets them apart from the standard Bulldogs and makes them irresistible to dog enthusiasts. The emergence of Lilac Merle coat pattern in English Bulldogs is the result of a fascinating genetic interplay. It is not a separate breed but rather a unique trait that arises due to specific gene combinations. NOTE: This page may contain affiliate links, which means Staffy Dog may receive a small commission for anything purchase via these links, at no cost to you. This keeps our tails wagging. Breeders are crossing the Staffy with many other pedigree dogs, such as the Labrador Retriever , and the craze is not showing signs of slowing down. They will certainly look like one of the parents, and the golden coat colours will also come through strongly. They will have a long muzzle, but the head will not be as broad. Ears could resemble either parent. There will be substantial shedding; however, coats could be a mixed bag with each litter. The Staffy and the Golden are high-energy dogs, and both need a reasonable amount of daily exercise; that trait will pass down to their offspring. Both the parent breeds are high on the most popular dog list in the UK, and once this cross catches on, I suspect the Golden Staffy will also become hugely popular. Staffies often have an issue with other dogs, so you will need to socialise the Golden Staffy puppy from an early age if there are any aggressive tendencies. The Golden Staffy will be family-oriented and want to be wherever you go; however, separation anxiety might be an issue. If the whole family is out for most of the day, the Golden Staffy would not be a good choice. Regular daily exercise will be essential for the Staffy X Golden because they need plenty of mental and physical stimulation. In fact this guy spent a great deal of his life breeding all kinds of different dogs to get various breeds. He was an avid waterfowl hunter so with the Golden Retriever he was looking for a strong, avid hunter but also a dog that was even-tempered in the home. Through various iterations and the breeding of many different breeds of dog, the Golden Retriever slowly emerged. At that time, they were classified as "Retriever — Yellow or Golden. The AKC officially recognized the breed in .This dog was originally bred to fight bulls for blood sport. With the passage of the Cruelty to Animals Act in , this stopped that activity and slowed the breeding of the Staffy. They were also used to control vermin. Given its name it is not hard to see that it comes from Staffordshire England, which is in the northern part of Birmingham. They were officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in .They are often times classified as a pit bull type of dog.
