Here at Four Oaks Labradoodles, our dogs are a part of our family! Our puppies are raised at our home in Summerfield, NC. We breed gorgeous, sweet Australian Labradoodles that are health tested to the highest standards, trained using researched based practices, and shown great love! As a small home breeder, we are able to give each one of our puppies lots of affection, training, and high quality foods! Our founding dam was chosen very carefully focusing on excellent pedigree, health testing from her bloodline, and a sweet temperament even as a puppy. No-to-low shedding genetics are also a high priority for us for home cleanliness and to be hypoallergenic. We breed miniature and medium sized Labradoodles. Adoption Process Please contact us if you have any questions! Step 1- submit an application If you are ready to adopt one of our Australian Labradoodle Puppies, please first submit an application on our Reserve a Puppy page. This deposit will add your name to the waiting list for your preferred litter. As breeders, we do reserve the right to pick of the litter for puppies each litter, breeder will not keep a puppy from every litter though. Pick of the litter will go in the order of deposits made. The deposit will be deducted from the total price of your puppy. Once the decision is made to have a pick from the litter, the deposit is non-refundable. Step 3- Puppies are born Once puppies are born we will send you a birth announcement e-mail. Every week after we will send updates and pictures! If there is a small litter or non-conception, you can either ask for a refund of your deposit or transfer it to the next available litter that you prefer. Step 4-Choosing Your Puppy At 6 weeks of age, we will have puppy picking! Puppies will be picked based on the order of deposits on the waitlist. You will be advised of the puppies' temperament testing before picking to ensure you pick a puppy that will be the best fit for your family! You may meet the puppies in person or by Facetime. Breeder reserves the right to first picks for puppies held back for the breeding program. Step 5- Time for your puppy to go home! At 8 weeks old, puppies may be picked up to go home! You will receive his or her medical records, a blanket with the mother and litter mates' scent, a sample of the dog food that the puppy has been eating, puppy training information, and a collar and leash. Because we begin with a Labradoodle and a Poodle, rather than a Lab and a Poodle, our puppies are much more likely to have the non-shedding Poodle coat. A F1b Labradoodle has been back-crossed to a poodle in an effort to insure a non-shedding coat. Even though most f1b Labradoodles shed very little or not all, it is impossible to guarantee that any dog even doodles or purebred poodles will not shed at all. Hypo- means less hypothermia is having a lower than normal body temperature. No dog can be said to be completely non-allergenic. Studies have shown that doodles are less likely to cause allergies, particularly f1b doodles. The ideal is to keep as much of the Lab head shape and super-friendly personality as possible while getting the non-shedding Poodle coat as well as the dignified, less vocal characteristics of the Poodle. He thinks he is a guard dog and would hurt even a fly…which he does! He loves to play catch though he still hasn't learnt to give it back and hide and seek! Unfortunately, this period of isolation also coincided with a critical puppyhood developmental stage, as pups are most open to novel experiences through roughly 16 weeks of age. Pomeranians have a narrow muzzle, small face, and small ears that sit high on the head and stand up straight. Toy Poodles have longer and more pointed muzzles with small faces, and the ears are long and flop along the side of the head. Pomapoos will often have floppy ears as well, but they are a bit smaller than those of a Poodle. Pomapoo adults, like other types of designer dogs, can have a mixed appearance. Pomapoo Size When it comes to size, Pomeranians are only about 6 to 7 inches high and 3 to 7 pounds. They weigh about 6 to 9 pounds. So your Toy Pomapoo full grown will be anywhere from 6 to 10 inches high and 3 to 9 pounds. Basically, your pup will be a toy sized one, just like its parents. A Teacup Pomapoo is a small version of the Pomapoo. Bred from runts of the litter or by mixing another smaller breed. They are incredibly cute and portable, but we recommend you avoid these exceptionally tiny varieties. Both teacup Poodles and teacup Pomeranians come with a lot of health issues, not just potential temperament problems. Tiny dogs can act more aggressively than larger ones. But socialization will help to reduce the chances of this. So what does the Pomapoo coat look like? Well, it really can resemble that of the Pom or the Poodle, or you might see a mixture. The Pomeranian although usually tan, comes in a lot of colors. As does the Poodle. Your pup could potentially have any of these, or a cute mixture! The Pomeranian has a soft undercoat covered by more textured hair, and it has a remarkable fluff to it. The Toy Poodle has a thick, dense, and curly coat that is often kept trimmed close to the body. Poodles are famously low shedding. Unfortunately, the cute little Pomapoo is likely to also be a shedder. And they are not hypoallergenic. Grooming and Haircuts Regardless of which parent your Pomapoo dog takes after, you will need to invest in some grooming. Most of the dogs will have a hybrid coat that requires brushing with a slicker brush if the hair is more curly and a pin brush if it is straight. Brushing every day is wise. Additionally, you should think about a Pomapoo haircut every few months to reduce some of the grooming and shedding headaches. Puppy, lion, and teddy bear cuts are all common varieties to consider and will cut down on Pomapoo shedding. An hour of exercise, at a minimum, is required, and games like fetch should be encouraged during exercise sessions.
