The Bugs—Elmer partnership was so familiar to audiences that in a late s cartoon, Bugs' Bonnets , a character study is made of what happens to the relationship between the two when they each accidentally don a different selection of hats Native American wig, pilgrim hat, military helmets, bridal veil and top hat, to name a few. The result is comic mayhem; a steady game of one-upmanship that ultimately leads to matrimony. He became a heavy-set, beer-bellied character, patterned after Arthur Q. Bryan's real-life appearance, and still chasing Bugs or vice versa. However, audiences did not accept a fat Fudd, so the slimmer version returned for good. This period also saw a temporary change in Elmer's relationship with Bugs Bunny. Instead of being the hunter, Elmer was the victim of unprovoked pestering by Bugs. In Wabbit Twouble , Bugs plays several gags on Elmer, advising the audience, "I do dis kind o' stuff to him all t'wough da picture! Elmer sings a variation of the old prospector's tune " Oh! Susanna " made just for this cartoon complete with the phrase "V for Victory" , with Bugs joining in just before starting to hassle Elmer. Elmer-speak He nearly always vocalised consonants [r] and [l], pronouncing them as [w] instead a trait that also characterized Tweety Bird when he would talk in his slightly raspy voice. This trait was prevalent in the Elmer's Candid Camera and Elmer's Pet Rabbit cartoons, where the writers would give him exaggerated lines such as, "My, that weawwy was a dewicious weg of wamb. The writers often gave him lines filled with those letters, such as doing Shakespeare 's Romeo as "What wight thwough yonduh window bweaks! You tweachewous miscweant! Part of the joke is that Elmer is presumably incapable of pronouncing his own first name correctly. Occasionally, Elmer would properly pronounce an "r" or "l" sound, depending on whether or not it was vital for the audience to understand what the word was. For example, in 's The Old Grey Hare , he clearly pronounces the "r" in the word "picture". Usually, Elmer mispronounces the "r" and "l" by substituting the sound of "w". Later appearances Arthur Q. Elmer made appearances in several television specials in the s and s, and some cameo roles in two of the Looney Tunes feature-film compilations. Elmer would also appear frequently on the animated series Tiny Toon Adventures as a teacher at Acme Looniversity, where he was the idol and favorite teacher of Elmyra Duff , the slightly deranged animal lover who resembles Elmer in basic head design, name and lack of intellect. On the other hand, a younger version of him makes a single appearance in the episode Plucky's Dastardly Deed, and is named "Egghead Jr", the "smartest kid in class". Elmer also had a guest starring appearance on Histeria! Elmer made another appearance on Histeria! Elmer appears as part of the TuneSquad team in Space Jam. In one part of the game he and Yosemite Sam shoot out the teeth of one of the Monstars dressed in black suits while Misirlou is heard in the background, a reference TNG be early films of Quentin Tarantino. Elmer took on a more villainous role in Looney Tunes: Back in Action. He first appears as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck's co-star in a new movie, where he shoots Daffy repeatedly, and is later seen shooting Bugs per the film's script after Daffy's firing. He later appears in the Louvre museum, where he reveals himself to be a secret agent for the Acme Corporation. Elmer chases Bugs and Daffy through the paintings in the Louvre museum, taking on the different art styles as they do so. At the end, Elmer forgets to change back to his normal style after jumping out of the pointillist painting Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat , allowing Bugs to easily disintegrate Elmer by blowing a fan at him. A four-year-old version of Elmer was featured in the Baby Looney Tunes episode "A Bully for Bugs", where he kept taking all of Bugs' candy, and also bullied the rest of his friends. He was also shown with short blond hair. He appeared in most of the songs. An even more villainous Elmer appeared in two episodes of Duck Dodgers as The Mother Fudd, an alien who would spread a disease that caused all affected by it to stand around laughing like Elmer and resemble a grey-skinned version of him a parody of the Flood in Halo and the Borg in Star Trek. In Loonatics Unleashed , his descendant, Electro J. Fudd, tried to prove himself the universe's greatest hunter by capturing Ace Bunny , but settled for Danger Duck instead. Elmer himself also makes an appearance in the form of a photo which shows he presumably died at the hands of a giant squirrel. He was again voiced by Billy West. Portrayed as a wealthy businessman coming home after a hard day's work in the "Merrie Melodies" part of the episode "Best Friends," he sings about his love of " gwiwwed cheese " sandwiches. He later had a brief cameo appearance in "Fish and Visitors" as a weather forecaster briefly exclaiming about the rainy weather and doing his famous chuckle at the end. Later on, Elmer Fudd reports that EnormoCorp went out of business due to the worst business decision in the history of business decisions caused by its CEO Daffy Duck who succeeded the previous CEO Foghorn Leghorn who retired where he went with the "Proceed as Planned" choice instead of the "Delay the Merger" choice when he mistook Pete Puma as the new muffin man. As a result of this, Elmer mentioned that 10, of its workers are now out of a job and states that experts fear that the world economy could collapse. Elmer Fudd later joins the other characters in the Christmas song called "Christmas Rules" at the end of the episode. Elmer Fudd later reports on Daffy Duck's apparent death where he supposedly lost control of his parade float and drove into the St. Bastian River. He appears as a spy working for the Mexican general Foghorn Leghorn. In the story, Elmer is a bounty hunter that originated from the country side before he moved to Gotham to make ends meet. He considered putting the shotgun away for good when he fell in love with Silver St. Cloud , but she was killed by hitman Bugs "The Bunny". He goes to a bar called Porky's which has attendants that are humanoid versions of other famous Looney Tunes stars to kill Bugs. Bugs confesses to killing Silver, but avoids death by telling Elmer that Bruce Wayne hired him to do it. Elmer believes Bugs as Bruce was Silver's former lover, and shoots Bruce at a party for vengeance. Batman confronts Elmer in his apartment and defeats the gunman in a fight, where Elmer tells Batman about Silver's death and Bugs. Elmer and Batman return to Porky's and take out most of the crowd before confronting Bugs. The three are shocked to find Silver in the bar herself, where she revealed that she left Bruce and Elmer because of their dangerous lifestyles and had Bugs fake her death. The story ends with all three of the men requesting a glass of carrot juice from Porky. After getting shot by Elmer too many times, Batman takes Bugs' advice and makes it Robin season, causing Elmer to pursue the Dark Knight's sidekicks instead. The series executive producer and showrunner , Peter Browngardt, said the character could continue to use cartoon violence , such as dynamite and Acme related paraphernalia. Later, during the musician's union strike of , Dave Barry did the voice for Elmer's co-starring appearance in Pre-Hysterical Hare , as Bryan was ill during production of the cartoon. By pointing at something and saying "Cut it out", he has the almost supernatural ability to get people to stop whatever they are doing on command, no matter what they may be doing at the time. Cosgrove also possesses the odd power of finding Freakazoid no matter where he is, and often interrupts his heroic endeavors to ask him to visit various entertainments, which Freakazoid always enthusiastically agrees to no matter what he is doing at the time. During this visit, Cosgrove inevitably reveals important information about the plot of the episode, resulting in Freakazoid leaving to foil the villain's scheme and Cosgrove being left to enjoy the attraction for himself. Additionally, at some point, Freakazoid entrusted Cosgrove with his secret identity, and was deeply upset when he accidentally revealed it to Steff and Professor Jones. Roddy MacStew voiced by Craig Ferguson — Freakazoid's mentor, and expositionist; an ill-tempered Scotsman who once worked for Guitierrez and was the first to discover the Pinnacle Chip's flaw. Cobra Queen voiced by Tress MacNeille — Audrey Manatee is a former shoplifter whose theft of an experimental expired cosmetic transformed her into a cobra woman with command over snakes and other reptiles. In later episodes, Cobra Queen and Cave Guy are dating. She has a lair in the sewers and often complained about the lack of light there until Freakazoid suggested getting Japanese lanterns. Cobra Queen seems to be offended when compared to Sylvester the Cat. He subscribes to The New Yorker and also seems to have an odd fear of Klingons , primarily because of their language. Because he was searched for by law enforcement so frequently, he had plastic surgery to turn himself into a humanoid Texas Longhorn. Freakazoid even pointed out that this did not prevent Longhorn from appearing on America's Most Wanted every week. He loves country music and despite being a lousy songwriter, he is determined to get a recording contract in Nashville. Longhorn also owns a massive truck nicknamed "Bessie Mae" which is outfitted with all kinds of devices and can fly. Turk voiced by Matt Landers — Longhorn's henchman. Originally a normal human, he briefly gained powers similar to Freakazoid's by exploiting the Pinnacle chip's flaw. However, he was defeated in the Internet and fell into a pit, which made the right half of his face cybernetic which he now covers this by wearing a hooded robe. Jocko voiced by Paul Rugg — Guitierrez's henchman who is completely inarticulate. Candle Jack voiced by Jeff Bennett — A supernatural villain with a burlap sack over his head who abducts anyone who says his name and ties them up with rope, apparently because "he's a nut". Though he prides himself on being scary, he has a weakness for pie and also seems to enjoy watching F Troop. Waylon Jeepers voiced by Jeff Bennett — A creepy little man from Venice Beach who created the Medusa Watch which can turn people and pigeons into stone. He has also created a similar device that turned beavers into gold. He is obsessed with all things supernatural and is well acquainted with several monsters including Dracula , the Wolf Man , and the Loch Ness Monster. Additionally, Jeepers' schemes seem to deeply infuriate Freakazoid and Jeepers is shown to be the only villain that Freakazoid genuinely does not like whereas the rest of the villains appear to have a friendly relationship with Freakazoid off-battle once going on a long and unscripted rant against him after he tried to show him the Medusa Watch. His name is a play on famous country guitarist Waylon Jennings. Invisibo voiced by Corey Burton impersonating Vincent Price — Ahmon Kor-Unch is an invisible, smart-mouthed pharaoh who is only invisible via the staff he carries. He was sealed away inside a sarcophagus in the ancient past, but freed in the modern day after Dexter and Duncan accidentally broke the seal on the sarcophagus while fighting. Invisibo planned to absorb power from the local power plant to become unstoppable, but was defeated by Freakazoid who destroyed his staff, allowing him to be visible again. He was locked back into his sarcophagus which was taken away by authorities. Invisibo resurfaced in "Normadeus" where is among the villains invited by the Lobe to witness Freakazoid's destruction where he regained his invisibility. Booger Beast voiced by Frank Welker — A slimy monster who attacks Steff in the cold opening of episode 9. The Nerdator voiced by Aron Kincaid — A man who planned to kidnap all of the nerds in the world and absorb their knowledge to become a "Super-Nerd". However, Freakazoid convinced him of the downsides of being a nerd, after which he discontinued his plot and instead began kidnapping "good-looking, but vapid airheads". His character design is a parody of the Predator. Robinson — A spoiled model turned extortionist who, after years of posing, was left with his arms frozen in a jaunty pose with his hands on his hips. He sells "oops insurance", a form of protection racketeering which mainly consists of him breaking valuable things before comically following it up with a small "Oops". He injured Expendable Lad's clavicle, resulting in him retiring. Deadpan voiced by Bebe Neuwirth — A plain-looking, shapeshifting supervillainess with a monotonous voice, appearing in the cold open of "The Wrath of Guitierrez". She tried to conquer Washington by transforming into Freakazoid, but this plan was quickly foiled when the real Freakazoid appeared and nonchalantly exposed her. Deadpan also makes a cameo in "The Lobe", among the crowd watching the Lobe attempt to lobotomize Freakazoid. Mary Beth voiced by Tress MacNeille — Cosgrove's former girlfriend, a cosmetics executive and monster. She is short-tempered and when angered turns green, develops a deep raspy voice, and shoots fire from her nose. Allegedly existing since the beginning of time, she absorbs the life force of superheroes to remain immortal and planned to do so to Freakazoid, but was foiled, died, and shriveled into a pile of dust. Her name is a play on cosmetics giant Mary Kay. He is responsible for capturing Freakazoid's family and the mime from Animaniacs and imprisoning them in Chesky Beresch Prison, the toughest prison in Europe. He and his subordinate Colonel Anton Mohans were defeated after Freakazoid and his friends rescued the Douglas family and mime, and last seen being tortured by the mime and his pals. Mystico voiced by Tim Curry — A mad scientist who lives on a remote island and experiments with the native orangutans. He was kicked out of university for his mad science, and thus set up a laboratory on an island to continue his experiments. He seeks to take over the world, though he always seems to say Cleveland instead. Sparkles - Dr. Mystico's pet white cat. He is similar to the cat that is owned by Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Mystico by splicing human and orangutan DNA. Three of them, Fatima, Ackbar, and Ringo, serve as his henchmen. Kid Carrion voiced by Jeff Bennett — A zombie cowboy who primarily makes non-speaking cameo appearances, and resembles Tex Hex from Bravestarr. Kid Carrion was part of the characters that was created during the original development of this show. Major Danger — A villain who was part of Bruce Timm's original development of the show. His name was later changed to Bo-Ron to appease network censors' concerns that use of the word moron might be offensive. His first appearance was when he tried to deliver Earth an important message, only to forget what it was. This message turned out to be a comet heading towards Earth, which caused everyone to flee the area. He also appeared in the episode "Next Time, Phone Ahead! In "Freak-a-Panel", he was among the characters who confront Freakazoid over being dropped from the show, and was given a job washing the Freakmobile. Marty Feeb was a poor hunter who saved a chunky elf from being eaten by a crow and was rewarded with magic corn that gave him enhanced strength and speed, as well as shiny teeth, resulting in him becoming the Huntsman. The Huntsman can be summoned by a police officer blowing into the Horn of Urgency in the local police station and arrived at the office of police lieutenant Artie King voiced by Dorian Harewood who would often be seen reading the newspaper. His sketches are often themed around beginning with a lengthy, overly heroic opener, with a title that would indicate an action-oriented episode, that ends up being a short and anticlimactic due to him not being needed after all. They planned to do so, but were cursed to become stone by day by the powerful wizard Rathgar voiced by Maurice LaMarche after they tripped him and attacked his younger Viking brother Erik the Large also voiced by Maurice LaMarche. They would revert at night during which time they were given the opportunity to mend their ways by fighting evil, after which the curse would be lifted. The Lawn Gnomes' only other appearance was during the "Freakazoid and Friends" theme song. The characters' only other appearance was during the "Freakazoid and Friends" theme song. Their only segment involves them coming to the aid of Louis voiced by Scott McAfee , an overweight boy who loves sweet buns and is being tormented by bullies Joey voiced by Scott Menville and an unnamed bully. After attempting to capture the bullies and failing due to their extreme lack of physical fitness, Fatman and Boy Blubber deliver a pseudo-inspirational speech to Louis about their own struggles with being overweight, and how they often end up eating unhealthy food instead of having sensible meals. When Louis asks what the point of the speech is, Fatman changes the subject to ask if Louis has anymore sweet buns in his lunchbox; the hero then tries to confiscate the food and begins beating Louis up with Boy Blubber when he refuses to give the sweet buns to them. Fatman and Boy Blubber also briefly appear in "Hero Boy", reading the storybook about the titular episode to some children.

One of the more familiar tricks Boxers are known for is kidney beaning, a dance they do whenever they are excited. No owner could resist smiling whenever he comes home after a hard day's work and sees his Boxer doing this dance. It isn't a bark although it is similar. Boxers are natural entertainers even when they are running. Don't be surprised to see a Boxer twist, jump and even do summersaults while it is out on a walk. However, Boxers aren't for everyone. If you're looking for a dog that will lie quietly at the foot of your bed or sleep most of the day, a Boxer is not the dog for you. Boxers are very energetic and they need plenty of attention. But some breeds are likely to have more health problems than others. For example, bulldogs, pekingese, and pugs are among the breeds that are more likely to have breathing problems and overheat. You can get referrals to such breeders through breed clubs, dog clubs, and resources such as the American Kennel Club. A reputable, good breeder also will have questions for you regarding your family, work, home, activity level, and reason why you want a dog or their breed. The pups will also have been checked by a veterinarian and been given the appropriate vaccinations for their age. There are also breed rescues that rehome dogs of their chosen breed. However, they rarely have puppies. Shelters and rescue groups can also be great places to get a puppy. Many use foster homes, where a puppy or litter of puppies are located. Foster parents get to know the puppies and can help determine whether any particular puppy is a good fit for you. Many rescue groups try to place a puppy in the best home possible. When I adopted my Aussie mix puppy Mille, the rescue group would adopt her out only to people who had experience with herding breeds. Many shelters are first come-first served. In order to place as many dogs as possible, they will adopt out a puppy to the first person who wants him—barring any obvious reason not to. How to Choose a Puppy from a Litter There are many tests that can be given to determine whether a puppy is a good fit. This assumes you have a litter to choose from. There is a range of temperaments and personalities in each litter, No puppy may perfectly meet every test below. But look at the big picture. So, in addition to your own observations, you can bring a friend along to have another opinion about the litter. Or you could hire a trainer to help you choose. Overall, as a companion, a middle-of-the-road dog usually works out best. Also, a reputable breeder or good rescue group or shelter who knows the puppy can help guide you in making your decision. See the Mother and Littermates If you can, watch the puppy and his littermates and mother interact. The puppy you choose should be able to take a proper correction and back off then re-engage. The breeder should have the mother available. Check Out the Puppy The puppy should look healthy and alert, not lethargic. Inspect his coat and skin. He should be well-fed with a little fat around his rib cage. The pup should run and walk normally, without a limp. A puppy should engage with people and be curious, not slink away or cower. A scared puppy will probably be more difficult to socialize and train. Will he follow you if you walk away? Clap your hands and make a kiss sound. Will he come towards you or run for the hills? Hold Puppy on His Back Hold him on his back for about 30 seconds. Ideally, he should briefly struggle and relax. When I had two sheltie puppies to choose from and one fought constantly when held and the other struggled briefly, then settled, I chose the latter. I had already gotten another dog from this great breeder. I wanted a dog who was a companion but who I also wanted to show in competitive obedience. My choice turned out to be the right one. Duffy was a great dog to live with and became a nationally-ranked obedience dog. He also did agility for fun and was a therapy dog who visited a hospital on a weekly basis. Hold the puppy and touch and gently open his mouth. Look in and gently rub his ears. .Gently touch each paw, even putting slight pressure on them. The puppy should be comfortable with these activities. He may slightly struggle. But a puppy who really fights against such touching, even to the point of mouthing or growling may turn out to be difficult to groom, handle, and pet. Pet the dog calmly from head to toe. He should enjoy it and relax. Pick the Puppies Up If you hold each puppy around the middle, ideally he would be relaxed and not struggle. Also, cradle the puppy up against you. Ideally, he should relax and like the attention. He may startle at first but should rebound and even go and check out what made the noise. Social Dominance Fall to the ground at least a few feet away from the puppy. He should want to come over and see what happened. Even if you like the look of a certain puppy, he may not be the right puppy for you. Consider the above factors as well as the following when choosing a puppy. The dogs live in rabbit-type hutches or dark barns. They receive no proper socialization, vet care, or human contact. There are also small back-yard breeders which, essentially, are puppy mills on a smaller scale. The mothers are bred at each heat and have horrible lives. Dogs sold in pet shops and through the internet usually come from them. Of course, do your own research because no one will admit they are a puppy mill. Labs have two coats, the water resistant undercoat which is unseen, and the top coat which is dense, straight and short. There is might be a slight wave in their coat, however the coat should feel rough to the touch. Labrador puppies come in three different coat colors: yellow light cream to red fox , chocolate liver and black. There must not be any other colours in the coat. Labs have a broad skull and a well defined stop. Their head is quite large but the features on the head, such as the ears, look proportioned. The ears of a Labrador should be set far back from the face. The inside skin of the ears should be a pale pink and soft without any scabs or discoloration. There shouldn't be any odour coming from them. The eyes of a Lab pup are round, either deep brown or hazel with black rims. The eyes should be friendly and express intelligence. The Labrador Retriever has a wide black and well developed nose with distinguished nostrils. The nose should be clean and without discharge. Be aware that a wet nose is not an indication that the Lab is healthy, nor does a dry nose indicate he is unwell. The teeth should be set square to the jaws with the top teeth slightly overlapping the bottom. Labrador puppies have fewer teeth than adults and they will lose their baby teeth as their adult teeth grow in. Labs have a well developed and strong chest. It has good depth and width. Their barreled ribs are well sprung and their back is level. Their loins are wide and strong. The skin of a Lab should be without scabs or bumps. It is normal for Labrador puppies to have extra skin at the back of their neck; this is how their mother picks them up. The skin color of a lab is usually pale pink but it can also be brown or even spotted. The tail of a Labrador is thick at the base and tapers towards the tip. The tail is a moderate length and has no feathering. It is as smooth like the rest of the coat with a rounded appearance. The tails is even with the back or slightly upwards. It should never be carried over the back or hang down. Labrador have long and sloping shoulders that connect to the strong front legs. The hind legs are developed well and have a turned stifle. Both the front and hind legs should be straight. The feet of Labrador pups are compact and perfectly round. Their toes are arched and pads well developed. Feet should be straight, not turned inwards or outwards. The gait of a Labrador should be carefree. Labs take long strides and walk straight. Observe your puppies as he walk. As the disease progresses, they lose sight during the day. Many affected dogs adapt to their limited or loss of vision very well, as long as the surroundings remain the same. Your vet will perform a biopsy of the skin if SA is suspected. Treatment options vary. The main symptom is excessive bleeding after an injury or surgery.
